AmyJo- Glad your treatment went well today and that you were able to rearrange your treatments to accomodate your very busy travel schedule, pheeew! Make sure you drink your fluids and rest, rest, rest. I called Daisy and told her to hide your keys! If you do upgrade to an Ipad2, I would definitely be interested in buying your "old" one, which is more modern than anything we have! As it would be a birthday present for Bry, I actually don't want one with a camera for a pre teen, way too many opportunities for abuse. We'll talk about it down the road. Looking at these happy photos makes me miss you all over again!
-
Great pictures, AmyJo! I gave you a shout-out as I was driving through Raleigh on I-40 bothways. My DD is at Duke. She is proud to be a sophomore now, she kept saying, "I'm a sophomore" all the way home. Guess she's glad to be done with her freshman year! It's such a long drive, ugh. My butt is numb. But here is a picture of us taken at the beautiful Duke Gardens this morning.
-
Well, I can't get the photo posted and I'm tired, so I'll try again tomorrow. Goodnight all!
-
AmyJo, great pix of you and Karen! I have the iPad2 and love the thinness of it. It is very light and believe it or not, the camera takes great pix. I can also use Skype with it so I can walk around while chatting. Very cool. I am so geeky. I have not one, not two but three laptops in my office. Yikes.
Shelley, that is a looong drive! NC seems like it goes on forever! I kind of limit my driving these day to within FL. Anywhere else I take a plane.
-
Amyjo and Karin those are great pictures. Glad you two got got to meet up.
-
Good morning - or rather afternoon ladies, I slept until 1:00 p.m. and turned on the Derby Pre-Coverage. The hats are all the way from sublime to just palin silly, from small to huge, from monochromatic to brilliant colors. I have a friend that breeds and raises thorobreds, she owns Southern Cross Ranch. Look for one of her babies to be in the Derby soon.
I am so glad that I got to go see Karin in NYC, it was a big surprise for her and a joyful time for me. I really got to relax and have some fun. I was so amazed at how much energy I had, I think it may have had something to do with being so relaxed and at ease. Karin's DH took the pictures.
-
amyjo- I totally forgot it was Derby Day! Where is my mother when I need her? Growing up in Louisville, we would always have a Derby party complete with Mint Juleps and Derby Pie! Glad you rested well after your treatment. I love the new avatar. You look happy and relaxed....hard to imagine after I ran you around everywhere! I am rearranging all those stock boxes you helped me with. Will my life ever be settled???
It must be the year of the silly hats. I am still laughing about the Royal Wedding ones. If anyone needs a good chuckle just put in "Eugenie and Beatrice wedding hats". Lord have mercy! Fergie's daughters look like the evil step sisters in Cinderella!
-
AmyJo ... I too like your new avatar. Great pictures of you and designermom.
What is Derby pie?
-
samsue- Derby Pie is definitely not on the BC anticancer plan, but it is something you must experience. It is like Pecan Pie only made with walnuts, gooey chocolate and bourbon. It is served warm with whipped cream. Killer!
-
We have a light southern veriion of Derby Pie that has pecans, strawberries, whipped cream and not sure what else but it is devine!
-
Designermom. OMG it sounds wonderful....and Amyjo yours sounds divine too! Will have to search for the recipe's
-
Ok, posting a pic of my daughter and I at Duke Gardens.
It was just gorgeous there. Could have stayed for hours.
-
Shelley - what a pretty daughter you have. I know you will be glad to have her home for at least a little while.
-
shelley- Nice photos. I keep dreaming of having beautiful gardens one day at our summer house. I never seem to make headway. I guess I need a whole crew of gardeners! Lovely daughter. Nothing like kids!
amyjo- If I am going to indulge in Derby Pie, there is no way I am going to go for a light version (though yours sounds great). Bring on the bowl of whipped cream and leave it!
-
I agree with Karin..bring it on!! Too bad our ladies didn't show at the Derby. Oh well, next year.
-
BarbaraA- Oh I have a feeling we could get into some serious mischief, eating-wise and other-wise!
-
Karin - I know both of you and you are right, you both could get into some serious mischief, but you would also have a lot of fun doing it. Love to you and BarbA
-
Love back at 'cha!! Hope all have a wonderful Mother's Day!
-
Hi Ladies,
I'm off to my sister's tomorrow evening. Hope you all are doing well and have a great week!
-
I am getting ready to head to Myrtle Beach for the weekend. Cannot decide if I should take a raincoat or a swimsuit?!?!??! Weather is kind of iffy. Should be interesting since it is the weekend all the bikers to be there too. Hope everyone is having a good week and no bad SEs from treatments. {{{{{{{{{{Hugs}}}}}}}}}}} to all.
-
AmyJo, take both and keep your fingers crossed for sun.
Shelley, have a great time!
Getting a cut and color today...finally. I look like a freak. I have a big presentation at the Microsoft office on Friday so I need to look my best and do my best so I can wow them.
-
Amy Jo- I say wear a swimsuit with your red raincoat over it....just in case. Girl, you move so much, nothing bad will ever catch you! Have a great time and remember to rest and drink your fluids.
BarbA- I just got a cut and highlights and feel like a new woman. We really should indulge more often since it makes such a difference.
Shelley- Enjoy your sister. I wish my brothers were closer, I don't get to see them often.
-
BarbA - Good luck with your presentation you will do great I am sure. And I just got a cut and color a couple weeks ago. Finally had enough hair to do it
-
Looks great, Jen!
-
Shellylove the pic of your daughter.
Must be something in the air about hair color just had mine done yesterday,so needed to cover the gray.
-
Hi ladies. I think the hair thing is for one because we finally have enough to do something with and it makes us all feel a little more "normal" I have been waiting soooooo long to be able to have it highlighted. Hope you all have a great day. Spring is in the air
-
Had to reschedule the cut and color until today. On my way!!
-
Barb - so how is the new cut and color look? Love to see. Been thinking about you all day today. Things going ok with you?
I am getting packed to go to Myrtle Beach tomorrow with some gal pals. We plan to come home Sunday afternoon when the Women of Joy conferecne is over. Almost ready just have to get the last 2 shirts dry.
-
It looks GREAT! She outdid herself this time.
-
Barb post a pic
