Jo/Sherry- my hair is medium to dark brown with only a wee bit of grey in there....I asked for a semi permanent colour so it will be back to me in 6 or so weeks....do not want roots etc....the blonde streaks might mess me up though....my pal liked them but I will see what others who do not love me think tomorrow! the cut was perfect though...I have all my curls back...I got it cut this way first in the middle of radiation andliked how it felt so thought I would do it again....neck bob at the back and longer in the front with lots of curls....at that time, I wanted to 'cut off the radiation' you know? hard to explain....have only had my harhighlighted two times before this...never blonde...noy sure how i feel about it...

Tink - I am back and you got the dog's tail.  I had to hold him back so he wouldn't catch you as you flew by.  This one is for him WHACK WHACK

Sandee - I am sticking with the silver - just don't have the energy to keep up the color anymore - plus I do get lots of complements on it.  Going for the new haircut next week.  Have fun at your workshop and rest when you can.  Don't think you are getting off easy - soft whack for you.

Missed last nights party.  Had a romantic evening with the DH on our back patio.  It was a beautiful night.  Had a nice dinner and wine.  We both had a busy week so it was nice to get caught up.

Sandee and Jo I had let my gray grow out but my best girlfriends told me it made me look older  and I needed to color it.  I finally took their advice, but I just want it to look natural.  The color does fade some but then it looks like I have highlights so that is OK.

Sherry - Sounds like you had a wonderful evening.

I'm not sure I have the energy to take care of colored hair anymore.  Too many other things going on right now - the dreaded "To Do" list is long as it is.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

    Hi, Guys:

I just read through the last few days of posts. I am sorry that I can't keep up but it's great to see how you are all there for each other. Wishing you all the best with ill relatives (Sherry? Sorry about your Dad. Sounds hard, but I hope he doesn't give up. My Dad had a terribly hopeless case of Leukemia 20 yrs ago but survived (despite some very low times) and is still here, thank God. Will keep your Dad in mind in my prayers,) and doctors' appts.

Went to the gyn on Thursday re my crazy high E2 levels (2469 pmol/l) and he said it's nothing terribly serious but that we need to treat it. Options are taking lupron-like shots (a similar drug is available here in Israel) or having an oopherectomy. Had one shot and my 'early pregnancy' symptom, total exhaustion, queasiness and moodiness have already diminished. I'm not sure how to make this decision but at least have some time to think. Don't really want yet more surgery (also had a hysterectomy in Jan 08, though kept ovaries) but also don't want to be on these shots indefinitely. Oh well. But very grateful that this is nothing more serious. I was quite scared my all  of this. Also apparently, very tired and anxious due to the high estrogen levels.

Trying to keep my sense of humor.

So a good day to all, and happy mother's day,

    Shari

Okay, I'm going off the Tamoxifen again. I've been dealing with the discharge SE for the past month, and apparently it turned into a "severe allergic reaction" (according to the doctor at the walk-in clinic I just spent three hours at). This is the most excruciating pain I have ever been in. It's like razors cutting me everywhere down there, inside and out. I've been walking like John Wayne for the past three days, and crying every time I pee. I even took some leftover Vicodin to help me stop freaking out at the pain. I am finally feeling some sense of relief due to the steroid injection, but the scabs on my private area are very unsettling. I'm not going to deal with this for five years, so I hope the Onc has another option available...

Joan sounds terrible for you hope your MO can give u other options. I also have been having that nasty discharge and this week it turned into a yeast infection. I usually take dyflucan for it but the gyno would not give it to me this time because she said it is hard on the liver as well as tamox being hard on the liver. So using the nasty old cream stuff. yuk

I think I may write a book about the SE of tamox since I think I have had every one of them and may be turning into an expert. haha

Joan - How horrible - I hope your MO can come up with another solution.  I certainly would not endure that for 5 years.

Sherry - If you write a book about the SEs of Tamox, you should include our stories as well.  It could be volumes when you are finished.

Joan and Sherry-----I had the most horrible yeast infection early on when I started on the tamoxifen--the gyn couldn't believe I didn't come in earlier, it was so bad--but I was afraid they would say that I had to go off the tamox. She said no and gave me Diflucan, which cleared it up and I never had a problem with it again in the 5 years I was on tamox. (or in the 2 years I've been on evista)

Thanks for the suggestions, girls! The MD thought there might be a yeast infection mixing in with the tamox discharge. I ended up with the steroid shot and three scripts (steroids, yeast infection antibiotic, and hydroxyzine pam. The outside is scabbing up, which is a good thing. But if this were a wound in any other location, no problem. But down there...well, you can imagine there's no way to find relief. I will definitely check with the gyno too, since he was the one who encouraged me to go back on the tamox after I went off the first time.
