Mammo/one year canciversary etc!
Hello Ladies,
Well, just got clear results from my mammo (six months after surgury). I was so worried that they were going to find something. Another reprieve I guess.
It's also one year since I was diagnosed so I feel really lucky. Celebrated by booking a cruise to the Greek Islands. I am off in a weeks time.
Can you believe that not long after my initial diagnosis i told someone at work that i had breast cancer. When I said i was HER2 pos her face fell and she said "thats the type that always comes back - no body survives longer then 10 years because it is so aggressive". Well thanks a lot for the vote of confidence! I think there is enough evidence on these boards to prove that it's simply not true. I REFUSE to believe that there is no hope for us HER2 ladies. I am still around after one year and intend to be here a lot longer...she can get stuffed (sorry bit of a rant).

Congrats on your mammo and your cancerversary! I think people who talk like that woman don't know any of the latest information about Herceptin and other drugs coming up. I choose to believe that Her2+ is no longer super scary.

Thanks for the congrats Saralmom,
On the HER2 thing, I agree. I really think people should get their facts right before engaging mouth sometimes! HER2 isn't the killer it used to be and there are so many things out there that can help - thankfully! I prefer to think positively.

Maybe I spoke too soon. A few days after getting back from the cruise i suffered a seizure. Guess what ...brain mets. Oh well, least i got the cruise and one year I suppose...
Other tests confirm no further spread to anywhere else.
