Francine, I am glad you got to say your piece. It may make them rethink what they tell people before they are certin. Good for you for speaking up.

Now onto the other stuff...necrosis..redness...still sore. I am so sorry that you are going through all of this again. You are one tough gal because I would have cracked by now. That's quite impressive that your PS met with you on a Saturday and brought his kid along too. It's nice to be reminded that these doctors have lives/families too.  I hope they get this all cleared up for you soon Francine. Big Hugs to you and hang in there!

The restaurant was terrific. The Chef's table is in the kitchen so you get to watch all the comings and goings. The chef's tasting menu is made specifically for the chef's table and you get wine pairings with each dish. When they present you with a plate, they explain how they prepared the dish, what ingredients etc. Five Courses plus dessert.

Gordon Ramsay ate at this restaurant last year when he was in Edmonton. His photo is on their website.

I wish I could eat like that more often. It is such a wonderful experience and of course I am a total foodie!

Tomorrow is election day here...could be interesting!

    Hugs

    Hi Ladies,

Well tomorrow I see the PS once again and do hope I get some real answers. I am still a little sore and definitely have necrosis..I must ask what will become of the  bad areas. Sometimes I get a little depressed over all these stuff..My DH and I are to leave a week from tomorrow for a mediterranean cruise and a few days in Barcelona. Hope the PS gives his okay..

Beth..sounds like an incredible meal. How did election day go?

Interesting news last night..Bin Laden dead..really incredible news.

    Hugs,

    Francine

Francine, Keep us posted on your appointemnt. Good thoughts coming your way ..and hugs too!

The election produced a majority government with a strong opposition so I am optimistic...cautiously...lol

Yes the news of Bin Laden's death is amazing. Incredible news indeed. I hope this is a turning point for everyone. New Yorkers must be revelling in the news.

Oh Francine, so sorry to hear about everything that is going on with you.  I was so hoping things would go smoothly because of the issues you had with your first surgery.  Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.  Enjoy your time away

    Hi Beth and all,

The PS said yesterday that the area does not look that bad. There is a lot of necrosis but that is okay. He said I should be able to go on the trip a week from yesterday. Today I see some oozing which of course gets me worried. I will call later to talk.

My son was here from Minneapolis and we went to see Lombardi on Bdway last night. Excellent show. WE ate before at the cafe in the Hotel Edison and thought of all my BCO friends who stayed there.

Tanasha ..thnks for the sweet remarks.

    Hugs,

    Francine

Francine I am so glad you checked in and happy for you that you can still do the trip. How was the food at the Edison? We are going to shows on both friday and Saturday night but haven't. Hosen restaurants prior to dinner. My friend is diabetic and has to adhere to a meal schedule so we will likely need to dine at six o'clock. Any suggestions?

Take care and keep healing sweet lady!

I have some good news Ladies.  The DIL who has been on bed rest to prevent delivery too early had our new grandson Tuesday.  HIs name is Kallen Stanley and was 6# 10 oz and 19 inches long. She was less than 4 weeks early when she finally delivered and everyone is doing fine.  She had the baby in Peoria so we have been able to go see them.  He is so cute.

    Hugs to all.  Annette

Annette:  Congrats on the new grandson...glad everything turned out well.  Give him 4 extra weeks of smooches for coming early!!

Francine:  Glad to hear your report turned out B9.  At least you know nothing is lurking around in there!!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Spring.  It's been very wet and miserable here (the sun is shining today so I should watch my mouth!)

I am getting ready for relay again next weekend.  I hope the weather holds out.  I am sleeping over again this year (not sure about the sleeping...just staying over!!).  My son Dominic likes to come and spend the night too.

Take care all....not on much, but I do think about you all!!

I spent Mother's Day in NYC!  My sons decided it would be nice to go there for the day.  We went from Battery Park to Central Park and everything inbetween!  We ate lunch at Dallas BBQ (I kept looking around for Francine!!)..took some time finding it, but it was worth it!  DInner in Little Italy with some shopping.  Late night and then up for work today!!

Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!!

Francine:  Europe will wait for you!  You want to go when you are healthy and with a mind free of anxiety! I hope your healing process goes quickly....

    Hi All,

Wow Chris..  Your weekend sounds fantastic!  I think about Dallas BBQ every now and then.  The next time I go to NYC, I think I'll look it up again.

Francine - too bad abour your cancelled vacation but I agree with Chris.  Get healthy and then you can really enjoy it.  I'm blad you and your husband were able to enjoy Maine though.  It's so beautiful there.

All - I've been Dragon Boating and next weekend (May 21/22) is the DC Dragon Boat festival.  I'm really getting into this dragon boating.  It's been great excersize and alot of fun.  Any of you in the DC area, if you're not busy that weekend, go to the festival.  It's in Georgetown.  It's my first and looks like it's going to be great.  I only hope the weather cooperates.  It's been so nice here tha last couple of days.  I'm really hoping for the same weather then.

    Have a great day all!

Good Luck this weekend Beth.  Festivals are so difference than practice.  Enjoy, if you start early take a sleeping bag (for warmth if its cold) and chair.  If it is like the 2 that I experienced it is a very long day with 3 or 4 races.

    Hello Gals

Chris: Wonderful Mother's Day weekend. Good for you.

Francine...keep on healing. Sounds like a wonderful weekend in Maine. Too bad about your other trip but I know you'll get there.

Beth: Good Luck and have a great time this weekend. What's the name of your team? I can't wait to start practicing on the river...May 17. Should be fun

Patti: Good tips. I'll keep that in mind when I go to festivals.

Thanks for the heads up Patti.  Yes, our coach was telling us the same thing about the difference between the festivals and practice the other night.

I'm still looking forward to it though and thanks for the advice on early morning accessories...   I hadn't thought about that.

BethP - Enjoy the river.  I think you'll fall in love with it.

    Hi,

Went once again to the plastic surgeon. He said that my breast is healing okay..I guess I am finally on a good road.

I brought munchin donuts to the office staff as I have been going so regurlarly and they have all been so nice..

The PS surgeon referred to me as Dr. Jackel today. I always tell him I am learning so much through this process that soon I will be a doctor..LOL.

    Have a great weekend ladies..

Just trying to check in and see how everyone is doing.  I did my first walk last week at our Race for the Cure and then did the Relay for Life last night.  Had to recover in between, but I think I could get hooked on some of these walks. Wink

Praying for everyone to have more good days than bad ((HUGS!!))

Hello everyone: it is great to log in and read your news. Francine, I am so glad to hear you are healing well.

Schnerbil the Space Turnip is now 26 weeks and starting to make his presence felt. Today was the first day LD felt him kicking but I've been feeling him for a couple of weeks now. It is so strange to think that in a few months he will be in the world.

    Hi All,

Raymon!  I took a look at your news clip!  How great is that?  Wonderful!  It's so great you're able to share with everyone and help them along the way.

Francine - good news is always good to hear.  I'm happy to hear you seem to be healing well.

Rachel - I love hearing about the Space Turnip (I'll never get tired of that nick name...  lol).

I went to a party this weekend for some close friends of mine celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary.  It was a wonderful party and I have to say I had a bit of an emotional moment when all of us women were lined up doing a little kick dance to Frank Sinatra..  silly fun..  I teared up a bit.. Thank God I was there to enjoy it.

Next week - my first Dragon Boat Festival - whoopee!!!  I'll try to remember my camera to post some pics.

    Have a great day all!

Hi everyone, I just thought I'd pop in and say hello! Sorry to hear about your necrosis issues and cancelled trip Francine, that really sucks!

the b9 biopsy and brand new baby and baby-to-be are all awesome news!

I went on  a two week trip to the southern Appalachains- first a weekend with trail friends from hike 10 years ago- some of whom I had not seen in 10 years, some who I have seen every few years- but it is always as if no time has passed. Then we had a few days to kill before a trail festival 200 miles north in southern VA. We hit some of the high points on the trail- camped two nights on top of balds, then we were camped and got hit with the worst t-storm I've ever experienced while in a tent- 50mph winds hit suddenly- ripped out a tent stake , one corner flapping wildly, water coming in- we balled up our sleeping bags between us so they wouldn't get wet and rode out the storm holding up the center pole of the teepee style tent. After it was over I can say it was exhilarating, but at the time I was pretty scared- the lightning was crazy and right on top of us.

a couple other 2001 hiker friends had joined us- we did some trail magic feeding this year's thru-hikers, then onto Trail Days festival and then 15 hour drive home-I turned around the next morning and drove some more to OK for 3 weeks of work, where I am now.whew!
