Jo- the 24 hour rule is working for me ....whatever happened today stays in today...tomorrow, it is a new day and a new beginning and I am trying to be my old positive self, (complete with rose coloured glasses) once again....most days I manage it but some days..well, some days I don't so....24 hours...and if 24 is too much, start with 12 my dear:)hugs
-
Good Morning Ladies - Did not sleep very well last night. Tossed and turned all night. Hopefully will do better tonight. I did take my Melatonin but it was like I did not take anything. May try doubling the dose.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Jules so sorry about your DH breaking his hand. Just what you needed something else to worry about. Keep us posted on your daughter. Funny how different parts of the country do things differnetly. When I had my first mammo a couple of weeks ago they made me wait for the Radiologist to review it, then came back in and told me everything was good and that the old calcifications had not changed any and that they would send a report to my Dr. They got it the next day and called me and I had them fax me a copy.
sgreenarch-so glad you were able to let it go until you were able to talk to your gyno. I also had a hysterctomy and kept my ovaries. That was 17 years ago. They did my hormone levels before starting tammi and will do it once a year. I am very pre-menaupausal. They said I am not even close to going into menaupause. oh well.
letterchick-welcome aboard. I too had joint pain and muscle stiffness when I first started taking tammi. My MO put me on liquid Glucosamine Chrondrotin 2Tabl twice a day. It really worked for me and now my body has adjust and I no longer take it.
Sohardbnme-welcome to the tammi train, hope you don't have any SE, but ask any questions you feel you need to.
Alicia-glad your surgery went well, take time to heal you need it.
Jo what a drag that your asst manager is leaving. Is that the one that likes to know your business. I know that you will find a great person to replace them.
tink keep your chin up girl, we are all here for you
Beans-how will you find the time to build that cabin when you work full time?
update on my dad--Saturday afternoon he all of a sudden became clear. Mom said it was like switching on a light switch. so she came home on Saturday night and the dr discharged him on Sunday so he is now home and doing much better. He is eating well and now just needs time to recoup. The bad news is the colon cancer did spred to his lymph nodes. It was in two of them so he will have to have chemo for colon cancer as well as lung cancer and they are not even silimar in drugs. My biggest fear is that if he has too hard a time he will just quit.
Sandee-how are you feeling????
Hope I did not miss anyone. -
Sherry..i am so sorry to hear that the colon cancer spread I wish it would all just slow down for everyone. I will kep your dad in my prayers too!!! how are you doig with everything? hugs to you!
JO..Hope today wasnt to bad at work and you are having a good day! hugs to you too and hope tonight brings better sleep!!!!
my daughter went back to school today and I am a wreck so I am going to go busy myself!!!!
see you all later!
xo

Tink did I miss something, is your daughter back home????
-
sherry i will pm you ok
-
Just popping in to say hello and hope everyone is doing well!
Welcome to all the newbies! Hope you have a smooth tammy-train ride.
Sandee - I need to implement your 24-hour rule myself. It sure helps to keep things in perspective!
-
Jo ~ so sorry about your job. grrrrr on those people !!! I hope you get some well deserved rest tonight.
Sherry ~ sorry to hear of your dad's cancer spread to his lymph nodes. I hope he tolerates the chemo well and am glad he is home and doing ok.
Sandee ~ so true, I need to search for my "old" pre-cancer rose colored glasses. Sounds like a great ides.
I have not had any anxiety/panic attacks in over a week, no ativan needed even though I had the surgery on Friday. I have been feeling pretty calm. I took the dreaded white PILL again today. I think it's been about a 1 month break I gave myself since the 2 visits to the ER and diagnosis ANXIETY. So I am back on the tammy ~ onco will be glad when I tell her, I see her next week. Hoping for all good tumor markers and such, but will try not to think about it till next week.
I hope everyone is doing well.
Hugs !
Alicia

Sherry - Yes, this is the busy body I have to deal with everyday. Still not going to go on FB as she will make my business her business whether she is here or not.
Tink - Good to hear your daughter went back to school today - that will be good for her. Hopefully your anxiety will less and eventually go away.
Heartnsoul - Good to see you here again - hope you are having a good day.
Here is wishing all the Tammi babes a good Monday.
-
Sherry- I am pooped....but will go to bed soon and recoup myself...had an easy weekend but today, between the 2 hour cardiac class, dropping off my late taxes (just didn't seem like the priority this year you know?) and then trying to cram 8 hours of work into 5 hours.....and then went to vote and to choir practice.....yeah....pooped! Sooooo sorry to hear the cancer is in your dad's lymph nodes too but very glad to hear the meds have cleared from his system....hoping he does not get discouraged..he has come soooooo far!
Heartandsoul- yep...the 24 hour rule works...if it works for members of AA and NA, well...it can work for us...as one of my pump instructors says "Anyone can do 4 more...."...I say "anyone of us can do 24 hours....it is just one day".....so one foot in front of the other
Tink- nervewrecking I am certain...a good thing, I am also certain! ope you kept busy and distracted today my friend!
Alicia- glad to hear the anxiety has calmed....now it is time to heal
Jo - any good prospecs for the position? Maybe put together a wishlist of characteristics and see if you get them:)
-
Sandee - Hubby and I posted an ad in several different places and have gotten on lurker today but nothing promising so far. It does take time to find someone we want to work with. Until then, it's the 24 hour rule. Right now, my priority is getting my back to feel better. It has been killing me since I got back from my cruise. I swear the girl that did my massage did something to it.
-
Argh..a massage is supposed to help hmm? sometimes the muscles rebel against being relaxed.Hope you feel better soon..24 hour rule indeed....I am interviewing teachers for the summer months so I know what you mean..you need the right fit for the team....and you need to believ ethe right person will indeed come along:)
-
Sandee - I will work the next couple of months by myself if that is what it takes to find a good match. I have done it before and thank goodness we are slow in the summer months. I only have to open my office for half a day right now and can work in the afternoon with no interruptions which means I can get so much more done.
-
Thanks Sandee... I did keep busy I was even somewhat productive today especially compared to the last few weeks lol... made dinner... hubby was happy .... seemed like it was a good first day back.... one day at a time yes 24 hr rule is coming in handy here....
Jo I am sorry your not feeling great, You know a few years ago now that I think about it I had a massage on vacation and got really sick after... havent had one since... I do like facials tough.... hope you are feeling better and work is treating yo good!!!!!!
Hugs to all my dear Tammiladies!
Thank you all for being here for...... well...... everything xo
-
Tink - The back is very slowly getting better. I have a massage/heat cushion I have been sitting on since I got home from work. Sit a bit hard to get up at times but I know it will take some time.
Definitely have to do the 24 hour rule for awhile - at least until we hire new help and get them trained. I swear I am getting too old for this.
How is your daughter today? Wasn't this her first day back at school? She is going to have to follow our lead with the good ole 24 hour rule.
Hugs to you sweet Tinkerdoodle.
-
Hi All!! Just popping in to see how everyone isdoing. I had a lot to catch up on. I was so busy with taxes (what I do for a living) I just hadnt had the time to get on BCO much.
Sherry sorry about your dad. I hope chemo goes smoothly for your dad. I definitely had moments where I wanted to stop but then I'd remind myself how far I've come and there was no sense in quitting.
Jo have you tried acupuncture?? A very good friend of mine is an acupuncturist and she even comes to my houe to do a treatment. When I was having joint pain post chemo and then terrible back pain...after trying everything..I did it and it was a miracle how much better I felt after 3 sessions and completely out of pain by treatment 5. If you have one near you or in your medical facility I would give it a try. I hope you find relief soon.
Have a great day everyone!!!
Diane

The back is a little better today. I have a massage/heat pad I used last night (without the heat). I also have an air bed and put some more air in it to make it firmer. Still have a ways to go. Just sitting at my desk today inputing numbers - UGH! I do take frequent breaks and walk around - that seems to be helping.
-
ditto whitedove only I am crying all the time for no reason. GP put me on a low dose of lexapro, he said it wouldn't have to last forever, so far it hasn't done anything but it's only been 4 days. All i want to do is sleep and cry.
-
Sherry, I am discovering different facility's do things differently. Frustrating to be honest.
Hubby gets his new cast put on this Friday. OMG he is such a baby.
Fed up of waiting for daughters results. I can only assume that if it was bad news they would have contacted us by now. However, any news would be good.
Jo I have a tendency to look to far into the future. I must work on taking one day at a time.
Tink, how did it go with your daughter. Hoping she had a good first day back at school
Ladies, I am lucky to have you all in my life sharing my ups and downs.
Love you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Jules
-
Jules- no news is good news....go with that unless told otherwise! YAY!
Tink- Glad you felt and were productive...good for you for getting through the day and moving back into a routine...it helps
Jo- yep....waiting for a good match us better than just agreeing to a bad one...I turned two people down today....one because her English was the same level as some of my students and one because.....well, she just didn't fit! I did, however, pass the names and manager names on to them in case there is a better fit out there for them
Robyn- so sorry to hear you are having a hard time...crying is release and these are tense times ....but it will pass...it really will. Give the medication time to work and give yourself time to heal. .... acupuncture and homeopathy also help rebalance us so....those might be other options to help you cope....and we are here
-
Jules - I have adopted Sandee's 24 hour rule. Life has gotta so much easier since. I used to do future planning, etc but know that is not realistic anymore. I find my stress level is also way more manageable.
All spouses are big babies - but some one has to take care of them. Without us, they would be lost.
Sandee - The search for a new couple continues. We placed an ad on WorkingCouples.com late yesterday afternoon and already have had 5 inquiries. The biggest problem is we usually don't get to do too many face to face interviews. Most of the people interested are willing to relocate but not always able to travel for the interview. We do have 2 couples that are in Texas and we can make arrangements to meet them half way on a weekend. Hey! It gets me a mini vacation that the boss pays for.
-
Sandee your so right routine can be somewhat comforting and did make the day go quicker. Yesterday was a pretty good day a few bumos but that is to be expected everybody hits bumps in the road today a bit more nerve wracking as she texted me at lunch and said i wanna come home then said no nevermind lets see if it gets better and it did and overall had a good day.... so i am seeing some copingg skills being put into use so that is good news
Jules... the waiting stinks I hope they call you soon so you can breathe.. how is she holding up with all the waiting?.. thinking of you too girls hugs!!!!!
Robyn I am sorry your having a hard time right now... I do that alot on Tamoxifen cry... someone here once said better out then in... cry when you need to we are here for you ... hugs for a better day!
Jo glad the back is a little better hope it keeps improving!
hugs to all my wonderful friends... you all are great!
Love Tinkerdoodle hehe
-
Tink - Glad to hear your daughter is making good progress. That says alot for her and her coping skills. She is going to amaze you - just wait and see.
Gonna have to pace myself at work since I will be doing the work of 2 people. I don't have the stamina anymore and I somehow have to keep my sanity intact but I will get through it.
Sure miss you on here - sending big hugs to you Tinkerdoodle.
-
miss you too Jo!!!! xoxoxox

Hello Tamoxifan, good-bye Anastrozole. Something is giving me a rash. Not sure what med is causing it. I'm switching off Anastrozole for a while to see if it goes away.
Sandee, I like that 24-hour rule too. "What ever happened today, stays in today."
Thanks I needed that! I should hang that in my cubical at work!
-
Faithroad...well, it works for me most days
....seems much more doable in bite size pieces, you know?

;Just wanted to let everyone know that I decided to stop taking the Lyrica for the toe joint pains as it was not doing much good and I did not want to have my MO increase the dose. Instead, I have been giving glucosamine/chondrotin a try and what a difference it has made. I can actually walk with no pains whatsoever. Think this is the way I will go.
-
Sandee,
I think that sounds like good advice.Hope you are having a good day today!
-
Jo have you checked your vitamin D levels? Low D can cause aches and pains in the feet. At least it works for me! When I get low my aches come back...soon as it kicks in I'm fine.
