Determined...glad you made the call when you weren't feeling well.  But boo on them for taking so long to get back to you.  Did you get a script for something to help the nausea?  Are you feeling a *bit* better now?

It's such a beautiful day here.  I shaved my head again because I just could not stand seeing the shedding.  Is it awful that I just want the fuzz gone already? Even though I'm not ready to be shiny bald?  I took a giant nap today and woke up and had to get out of the house.  So I volunteered to do the grocery shopping.  I really wanted some retail therapy, but the chant in our house is copay, copay, copay.  So no non-essential shopping at the moment.

I'm starting to get a but nervous about Monday (round 2).  So I need to whip out my meditation and my xanax and get this anxiety under control.

I hope you all have a good rest of the weekend.

determined - stay determined and keep the faith!

Carla - I go Wednesday for #2 - I am working hard not to dread the aftermath!

Just got out of the shower - even with my buzz had to keep cleaning out the drain!

    Oh happy day!!!

Carla: my round 2 is this Friday, and I'm pushing back at the jitters over it. I'll be rooting for you on Monday.

Artiecat: and rooting for you on Wednesday!

    Axtella: sweet!

There's a saying I learned as child in Venezuela, to be chanted while rubbing someone's bald head and then (gently) yanking on an an ear - my teens at school know when they've cut their hair really short to expect it from me: Pelón, pelado, ?quien te pelo? !que no mas las orejas te dejo! - means "baldy, baldy, who shaved you? They only left your ears!" I'm preparing myself for their sweet revenge when I show up with cap upon bald head on Monday...lol

I have to share this story about comfy clothes.  One of my kindergarten students gave me a pretty pink pair of socks.  They say, "Cancer Sucks".  She said, "Mrs. Q. I know I'm not supposed to say that word, but the socks are really cool!"  I laughed so hard, and I will wear them every single time I go for chemo.

Hi ladies. I am formally from the Jan thread but usually end up popping up all over now. To answer your question Axtella about the hair falling out I believe it was day 15 for me we just shaved it off. It was itching so bad and coming out in clumps, I was tired of getting up using the lint roller at 3 am to try to get some relief. My onc says they recommend shaving it because your head alot of times ends up sore. I go this week for 3 out of 12 taxol than herceptin once every 3 weeks until next april, It iss so much easier than whAT YOUR DOING NOW. I still have no hair up or down there, ha, but I have noticied lately some more stubbles coming in. Probably wont get alot until done with taxol/herceptin/. I have somehow customed to the fact I have none. I cant really say it ever gets easy not having our hair we just have to adjust I guess. And know there is a light at the end of our tunnel somewhere. If you ladies have any questions feel free to pm me we are all in this fight toghther as a family. I will be thinking of you ladies.

nothing sounds good to eat. I have slept most the weekend. This is seriously messing with my blood sugars. Last time they were too high this time they are too low. Argh!

I have been out for a while. Had a fever the day before Easter and spent 5 days in the hospital, 3 in ICU. My gall bladder decided to quit on me and I had to have it removed. Gained 21 lbs in water and then when I took my first shower in 5 days my hair decided it was time to come out also. Not the best week. Had my head shaved last friday and actually felt relieved that it was finally gone. I thought chemo was going to go fairly easily, but boy was I WRONG. Looking forward to getting back to my third-grade students and a normal schedule. Thursday is my second chemo. I was very happy that my surgery didn't delay my schedule. Praying for an easier cycle this next round!

Have a wonderful week all. Each new day is another day closer to the end!

I woke up this morning to read about OBL being killed. Although I am relieved I am very scared. My oldest son Matt is a US Marine deployed to Afghanistan. Keep our troops in your prayers. Praying for little or no retaliation!

Pawprint -- So sorry about your daughter.  What a terrible weekend.  I hope today is going better.  Thank you for the lint roller idea -- I love it!  Just got 3 full sheets of "lint" off my head!

Axtella -- keeping your son in my prayers -- and all of the Armed Forces and Special Forces who put their lives on the line every day fighting for our freedom.  I love your wig!  It looks so natural and beautiful!

I had round 2 of A/C on Thursday followed by Neulasta on Friday.  Really wiped me out for the weekend -- felt like crap all weekend.  Just achy and yucky and felt like sleeping the weekend away.  I'm not complaining, though, compared to what some of you are going through, not just with the chemo and SEs but with life's trials and tribulations.

Thinking of you ALL as we ride the ups and downs of this crazy roller coaster together.

Jodie prayers to your daughter...poor kiddo! Hope you kick the cold too!

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

    # 2 down, 2 to go (and 12 Taxol, but I like to keep them separate in my head).  Only two attempts at the port access, robust blood return, and I'm already peeing pink.  Overall, I'd call it a good chemo day.

There was a woman who came in for her first session today to treat colon cancer and I just held her hand and told her she'd get through this.  I could see her face filled with anxiety and I know that is exactly how I looked and felt on day one.  Sigh.  My heart broke for her.

I'm lying down and drinking water.  Neulasta tomorrow at 1pm, then the good times roll on Wed and Thur.

    Hang tough, ladies!!

Carla and pawprintgirl - good to be ticking off those chemo sessions. I'm scheduled for #2 next week.  Same regime as you Carla.

Day 15 for me and strangely no hair loss yet. I'm waiting ... a small part of me is hoping maybe it won't!  Wishful thinking.

Off to see my breast surgeon again today - can't remember what for.  A check in I think.

Feeling great this week. Looking forward to ticking off #2 next week.
