So I got my Breast MRI today and they gave me the images on a disc of course I opened them and have no idea what I am looking for, does anyone? I have to wait 24-48 hours to hear back from my doctor. Ahhhh...

I had a pelvic ultrasound a couple of weeks ago I have to go back in two menstrual cycles on day 7 and re-test, They found a cyst in my right ovary but said it most likely is a blood cyst, which in that case it will dissapear by the time we re-test.

 Any advice? Similiar experiences...

    hi angelina,

i was surprised that the dr said you need to have a mammo because you have dense tissue - usually it's the other way round, mammos can't read dense tissue so they send you for an MRI. Fingers crossed that what they found is nothing :-)

Yeah I am confused myself. I am going to go to the doctors on Monday to pick up the script and I am going to request the report from the radiologist I will come back and post what they wrote and maybe it will make more sense to others who are more experienced with verbage and whar not.... Thanks for responding!

Question, does anyone know of a thyroid guard? A friend said I should request a thyroid guard when I have a mammagram, is that true? Another friend said it could affect the turnout of the mammagram and I may have to have it re-done.

Here is my results from the radiology report: "The breasts contain a large amount of fibroglandular tissue. No spiculated masses or suspicious foci of contrast enhancement are seen in either breast distinct from the breast parenchyma. Multiple round and oval, less than 1 cm foci of persistent enhancement are noted in both breasts, likely related to a combination of areas of fibrocystic change, fibroadenomas, and/or intramammary lymph nodes. No abnormalities are identified in the visualized portions of the thorax, axillae or upper abdomen. Correlation with a baseline mammogram and bilateral breast sonography is recommended. If no suspicious mammographic or sonographic abnormalities are seen in either breast, a follow-up MRI exam is recommended in one year.

I am going for a mammogram and a breat sonogram tomorrow at 1 pm est. And I decided to go to a imaging center in a hospital as I heard that I will meet with a radiologist after to speak about the results.
