OK took some pics for you guys. I updated my progress chart, You can see I am now at week 20 and got a semi permanent color to cover the grey, hard to see in photos and she trimmed the back.
-
You can see I have a thin spot on the back of my head, so annoying.
-
You look great; you are a little cutie, and should be happy with that growth of hair.

Thanks Teklya I think it's growing in as fast as I can hope for but it will never be fast enough to me. It's so funny that you called me little I never heard that so much since I got breast cancer. I am 5'6" 140 pounds so not little lol. But my doctors and the nurses have been saying it too. I figured it was because i am in the midwest now and not in NYC and people here are bigger so i seem smaller lol.
-
Carrol your hair is growing even faster than mine. I think you're a little cutie too and we're the same size. For some reason I thought you were a lot shorter. Hard to tell from the photos but I think you're correct. A few highlights might be nice. This chemo hair has no dimension.
My MDs all call me small, petite and thin. I swear they breed with cows out here in the Midwest.
(For those of you who don't know I'm another relocated gal from the NE… Boston area). I was considered tall growing up.
-
Lago yeah as soon as it's long enough I want to get hi lites. For now this color will slowly wash out in 6 weeks so might look better as it lightens. Hopefully by then can hi lite it. I think I may seem cute and small because this haircut is making me look like an elf! lol. Just sayin'
-
Carrol To get rid of the elf look you need to accessorize. You don't see me posting pictures without my bling do ya!
-
yeah more earrings, more lip gloss!!
-
Yep to the accessories and makeup. I have never worn more make up in my entire life as I do now. Crazy amounts of eyeliner to try to look like a girl.
-
saralmom, you look nothing like a boy...you look beautiful! just wait til I post my pic...I look like a boy!
-
-
ok wait i got it i look like a Vulcan or a Romulan.
-
this was me 3 weeks before dx
-
-
I really loathe the curls, and I miss my straight hair! I hear it'll relax in about a year. Sigh....
-
I finally was able to figure out how to shrink the pic! this is me, 14 wks out
-
thegood5, cute and good color too. Thanks for posting, so encouraging for us bald girls.

-
Your daughter is adorable! What a great pic!
-
and last but not least, the view from the back
-
Thanks for the tips marjie!
-
Carrol - I love it when you post your progression pictures and you DO NOT look like a Vulcan or Romulan!!! I think the dark colour makes your eyes stand out. I guess none of us are in love with our chemo "do" but we're definitely finding ways to rock the look, LOL!
I put a deposit on a tattoo today..Yikes...
...perhaps it will distract from my hair !!
-
MEEEEEEEEEEEE at six weeks!
-
Sara, you are gorgeous and your hair is amazing on you. I know it may not be the way you want it to be, but you are a striking gal and the "do" suits you!

Thanks Marjie I am really trying to embrace this. I thought if i colored it i might like it better But when I got home to show my husband I teared up a little. I feel bed for the stylist she tried and when she was done she asked if I like it and I said no. But i explained to her that i miss my old hair. She was sweet i know she felt bad. I will give her another shot when i have enough hair to do hi lites. Good thing is this place is really cheap. Sem perm color and she trimmed the back cost $35.
I am cleaning my house getting ready for my in laws from NY to come visit. But I made plans with a friends to get our nails done. That always makes me feel pretty.
-
Nora - that's looking awesome for 6 wks! You are in a warmer climate which helps - I always notice my hair and nails don't grow as fast over our winters. Now that spring has finally sprung here, I notice a big difference in my hair almost daily.
Carrol - I am trying to put off the colour as long as possible because I'd like to try some highlights too. My daughter laughed at me today - we got caught in heavy rain, ran to the car and I used a kleenex to dry my hair off.....definitely not feeling pretty!
-
omg I look gray though! I am not that gray! LOL
-
Sara I think I like you better with the shorter hair… granted a tad longer will be perfect but the long hair covered your best features.
nora_az it's coming in. Remember everyone is not the same. I think my hair came in rather fast since I was going topless at 13 weeks. I think most people wait 4-6 months to go topless. Granted I was and still am a little thin on top/back.
Carrol I was a bit disappointed when I came back with my "fur" too. We tend to be super critical of ourselves. I really think you need the bling
-
Marj, I am LMAO... That is so funny..but I can totally relate
