-
I am with ya swanesgirl!!!.... I am not budging on the hapy juice request this week though!!!!
-
Joooo... what a great picture.... you look beautiful and what a lovely couple!!!!! just beautiful!
-
Jo - great pic.
Jules - hope B9 results for both of you. I have my mammo on Wednesday. Never much fun especially now.
I was exposed to TB at work and now have to go on medications to prevent me from getting TB. O joy. Very limited alcohol is allowed since TB meds are so hard on the liver. They do liver function tests monthly.
-
Jo - what a nice picture! It just brought a smile to my face - you two look so sweet there. I'm so glad you had a great time!
peg - I'm so sorry about the TB exposure and the meds you have to take! I hope it's over with fairly soon.
-
OK, well the leg pain disappeared as fast as it appeared. Then my husband remembered I had had the same thing on my upper left thigh a few months back and he was right, it just wasn't as severe a pain. I hate that medical folks don't understand how many side effects this tmox produces - or the rads. Stand your ground girls, we are not nuts!
I've been invited to speak at a Relay for Life dinner on Sat night before they get relaying. The granddaughter of a good friend of mine, who I wished was my mom - she died of lung cancer 7 years ago, is a math teacher at the high school where it will be held. She asked me if I would speak, I've known her since she was a teenager, and I told her I can talk until people's ears bleed and I'm proud to share my story - all of you will be with me in my heart, because I am telling your stories too.
-
Sunshine..thats wonderful good luck and will be anxious to hear how it goes~
-
Tink - You are such a spoiled little brat - Just for that - WHACK!
peg - Bummer about the TB exposure - hope you don't have to take the meds too long.
Sunshine - Congrats on the speaking engagement - you will have to let us know how it goes.
-
Unfortunately the TB meds are a 9 month course. Oh well maybe I will lose some weight if I am not drinking much at all.
-
Swanseagirl, Caroline- So sorry about your husband Caroline...your daughter Swansea....and the mammogram...Keep pouring my dear...you will get through it...
tink- hugs back
june- hope things tart to even out and that your heart is calm.
Sherry- I went for a 5mile walk outside with a galpal instead....then went to choir..lots of songs to memorize in the next 2.5 weeks...know more than half..thank goodness!
jo - we have been pillow-fight free for a week...We missed you!
-
peg- more meds....oy.I know how you feel. Keep a diary of how they make you feel..sunshine , you too....keep track of the symptoms on a calendar or in a diary or something..it helps remind us that we are the sane ones!
Sunshine- I have been asked to speak at the choir's concert on the 14th about my heart attack...I agreed to do it but told the director that she may getmore than she bargained for as my breast cancer is closely lined to the heart attack and I will be talking about both...Boy..talk about feeling exposed!...but yes..it is all our story...we wil have to ask for some tidbits!
-
Sandee - You will do great when you speak at the choir's concert. And of course, you will learn all the songs. Hate it when we are pillow fight free. Can't leave you out of the fun - WHACK! WHACK!
Tink, June, Sherry - Here's one for you too! WHACK! WHACK! WHACK!
I sure missed all you gals.
-
thank you ma'am....just sent copies of the rehearsal to a couple of other members...one...well, I have absolutely NO idea ....a song this choir has sung many times so those of us who are new will either hav eto get it together fast or mouthe the words...either is possible:) WHACK! ( thought I might have lulled you with my chatter and taken you by surprise!)
-
Sandee - Okay! You got me. Who is that behind you? WHACK!
-
Thanks Peg, Tink and Sandee!
Jo, fab picture of the two of you! Jo, 16 year old daughter found lump in breast last month. Taking her to the University of WA breast clinic. Had ultrasound locally and they recommended mammo. So DR referred her to clinic. She's pretty anxious/upset/stressed. So am I.
Hence giving you all a whack of my pillow.
Jules
-
Jules - So sorry to hear about your 16 year old daughter. That should not happen. I bet both of you are all over the charts as far as stress and anxiety goes. Will pray for B9 results. Please let us know the results.
Sorry but you are still getting WHACKED with my pillow.
-
Jules- do something nice afterwards....new restaurant, favourite restaurant, walk down a new street....a plan of action post mammogram for your daughter....good for her for locating the lump and saying something about it.....in your pocket right there with you (I am small and will fit nicely to add some encouragement)

Here's one of the happiest days of my life, my daughter's marriage, Feb 26, 2011. I worked like a madwoman to get back to fighting strength so that I could enjoy this day. She was engaged 7 mos before my diagnosis and got married 8 mos afterward. The bonus of my hard work was that it helped me be in the best physical shape I have been in years and it helped me with the 2 bad deaths that wrapped themselves around this day. So, anyhow, I want to share some joy with my BC sisters and thank you for helping me through these past months of fear and doubt, with your love, support and caring.
-
Beautiful family photos, phxsunshine and jo1955. I'm happy that my dear hubby is generally getting better in hospital.
-

-
sunshine - Beautiful family photo - thanks for sharing.
-
You ladies are all so beautiful.....I love the pic of you and your hubby Jo, absolutley gorgeous! Sunshinewhat a beautiful bride she was, you must have had a fantastic day.....I don't think I could make it through my daughter getting married, without balling.......
Sandee thank you for thinking of me......love ya gals!
-
June - Sure missed you girlfriend - hope you are having a great day.
-
June, haha, my husband and I both got a little choked up a couple of times, but we are so happy and blessed with our new son in law, he's a keeper. We sleep just fine with him in her life because he worries about her now and we don't have to. At the reception I almost cried tears of joy, I did get teary eyed, thinking back over my entire life and all the hopes and dreams you have for your babies, and thought about the path I had walked all these years, and especially the past months of BC, to get to this point. I was so grateful to be there, to be present, to feel God's love washing over me and all gathered. Sounds crazy, but you will all understand, the joys we experience now, are astoundingly so. It was like, look what I might have missed, but I"M STILL HERE!! (shakes fist) haha.
-
Dear phxsunshine, what a beautiful picture! I am new to this thread and all of you but it made me happy, knowing what you must have been thinking, standing there. I had a similar feeling last week, at our Passover seder with my family all around me. I got very emotional atthe beginning, feeling profoundly grateful to God for bringing me to this point. This past summer i didnt know where iwould be by spring and my wishes and prayers grew ever more simple back then. Just let me live to share important moments with my family. I remember suddenly feeling like i would never REALLY need or want more than that. And here i was, sitting at my seder table with my family, crying tears of thankfulness. So i understand your picture. I would imagine, we women, especially all do. Congrats and thanks for sharing. Thanks, shari

Jo great picture
Phxsunshine what a beautiful family you have and good luck with the talk at Relay for Life
Sandee you will do great at the concert and giving the talk (I'll be in your's and Phxsunshine's pockets)
Jules I agree with Sandee do something special after the mammo. Make it a positive memory instead of a bad one.
Gee I am not one here last night and I get beat up with the pillows. Guess I better stay on my toes from now on.
-
Welcome sgreenarch! You have found a wonderful group of ladies that are not only super supportive but we do have some fun along the way.
-
Welcome Shari this is a great place for support.
-
Welcome sgreenarch, you watch, Seder is just the beginning, I have turned into a big 'ol sap this year. Everything is so sweet, that I tear up. I'm not ashamed of it anymore either, just let 'em flow. There is something wonderful about being able to appreciate all the things we were too busy to before the BC, our appreciation meter has been reset. On the other hand, my bullshit meter is more finely tuned. I will not stand for even a bit of it. I used to be tough, but now I'd say I am Wonder Woman in that regard. There will be no meanness or injustice in my earshot that is allowed to stand. I will not allow mean or ignorant people to waste one precious second more of my life or anybody else's. You will find some awesome women here and loads of love, understanding and support. Nothing is too trivial, you got something on your mind, let it out here, you'll feel better just doing so and sometimes some of us actually have some helpful answers or suggestions to boot! Sherryc, you will be in my pocket. That wedding was in Georgetown, TX, and the kids live in Austin now, so I got special Texas love now and a root there!
-
I feel super welcomed! Thanks!
