Good MRI!

My followup visit with surgeon went well. Good MRI, only some benign stuff. Follow up MRI in 6 months. She's glad 'm going for second opinion next week, and it happens to be with a breast surg she respects a lot. She's also sending me to some breast cancer high risk assessment program. She will not rush into mastectomy out of my immediate emotions. She said the decision is mine but it has to be a rational one, not an impulsive one. I really love her. so, next Tuesday second opinion. How is everybody else doing?? Nan

    Way to go!  I  found 2nd opinons to be helpful, even if I 100% disagreed with them.  It helped me explore different viewpoints, especially if I was able to get the doc to explain how (s)he came to their conclusion.

    Nan--fantastic news! She's right--decisions should always be made out of knowledge, not out of fear. So it's good to take all the time you need to get opinions, research, and just let it all sink in.

    Yiour dr sounds fabulous. I do believe we need to take a little time to make decisions as clearly as possible. Had I had the option of PBM the week after my upgrade from LCIS to PLCIS, I probably would have jumped. I don't want to make irreversible choices for the wrong reasons. I want to know what I'm doing. This might sound weird, but I really don't want cancer (or pre-cancer) to be in charge here if I can help it.
