anyone else triple positive and taking only taxol/herceptin for 12 weeks, followed by herceptin for a year? There doesn't seem to be many and that scares me.  Would like to hear from you and what your ONC had to say about this regimen vs any other.  I am also facing maybe quitting early due to worsening numbess in my feet, so I may not only have to quit early, but now I have also gone without the often given TCH, so I will have to pray that 9 tx's out of 12 was enough....

I am doing that same protocol. It was recommended by two out of the three oncologists I met with so I felt reasonably comfortable with it. I have had 4 so far with little effects. We will see how it keeps going. Personally, I feel that with my diagnosis, the herceptin is far more important that the chemo component. From what I read, they aren't completely sure that chemo is needed with herceptin, that is just how all the studies were done and there isn't enough long term info on herceptin to be sure chemo isn't needed.

2 years ago I was in the same spot.  I ended up quiting the taxol after 10, but continued the herceptin for a year.  I was originally told that I would not even need any chemo until they found out I was her+.  The onc said the taxol weekly was the easiest chemo to do and would get me the herceptin since it was not given without chemo.  I also had 37 radation treatments.  In Feb I was 2 years NED.  My neuropathy did go away after I quit the taxol but it took a couple of months.  I try not to worry and it seems like once you get past this year Her2+ does not usually reoccur.  I just remind myself that I can do it again if I need to.  Best wishes  Annette
