Just Finished Aromasin

I am almost 70, diagnosed with bc when I was 62.  I've had a mastectomy, chemo, 2 years of Tamoxifen, and recently completed 5 years on Aromasin.  The onset of SEs was slow, but for the last three years I've had increasing problems with muscle and tendon aches, pains and inflammations:  tendonitis in both shoulders, bursitis in a hip, generalized aches making daily activities more painful than they should be.   I don't have arthritis, but it's hard to tell how much of this is due to Aromasin and how much to getting older.  I exercise almost daily, so lack of exercise can't be a factor.

 My oncologist said these aches and pains would decrease somewhat when I stopped the Aromasin.  However, for the past month they seem to be worse than they were rather than better. I'm also having more than double the number of hot flashes that I did when on Aromasin, especially at night when I wake up soaking wet three or four times each night as if I were going through menopause again.  It almost seems as if I'm having withdrawal symptoms from stopping the Aromasin.  My oncologist said she never heard of this and told me to call back if they continued or got worse.  I contacted the drug manufacturer, Pfizer, and was told they had done no follow-up studies on post-Aromasin experiences.   

Has anyone else completed Aromasin and had similar problems?  Do the muscle aches and pains eventually disappear, and if so, how long does it take before you really feel a change?  Do the hot flashes ever diminish?  I don't know anyone else who took Aromasin and would be grateful to hear anyone else's experience with this.
