I am a little undone by this news....

So,

My best friend has been diagnosed with bc.  Don't have all the details yet.  I have had the experience of helping several people through this process and have been so glad to have the information and resources to share with them.  I did the same with her- but I have to say, this has hit me harder than my own dx..... I keep telling her everything will be fine, but what if it is not??? Sometimes I feel like I am just talking out of my hat...... who am I to say everything will be fine.  This is so damn scary for her..... and I can vaguely remember how awful that all felt.  We will know more next week and I am praying that it is a garden variety middle of the road bc......

I'm sure you'll remember that what you needed most at the beginning was a really good friend with big ears. All you can do is be there to hold her up. And it sounds like that is just what you're doing. She's lucky to have you! Try to separate your experience from hers so you don't end up sinking back into your own fear.

    Hi C,

A friend of mine recently had an MX - large DCIS - her mother passed from bc. I've been trying to help her as well. All we can do is be there for them. Luckily my friend is over the worst and having her TE filled every week and looking forward to her exchange surgery. Her spirits are good so far. It's so upsetting that bc is everywhere we look - I consider it to be like a virus.

BTW - I'm finished all of my treatment and am back at work part time, but caught a flu last week, so have missed work from that. Also put my back out the first week - I just can't win.

Hope your surgeries healed up nicely.

so glad you are all done!! you have really been through alot--I have walked a number of people through this over the past few years- but never someone SO close to me....

she has her dx and is on her way--now all I hope is that she might be able to skip chemo---- but we won't know that for a while

all the moles are gone, negative and healed!!! hard to believe something so small can create so much havoc!!!

    be well..

Thanks Carole - I went back to work today. Lucky I'm only doing 4 hours a day to start with. Glad your scars are all healed up.

I hope your friend doesn't have to have chemo - fingers crossed. Give her a hug from me :)

    Sue
