I have just been diagnosed with Invasive papillary carcinoma. Has anyone else been diagnosed with this? What treatment have you or are you receiving.

 Any information would be helpful!

Have you seen a surgeon yet?  What are you advised to do next?

yes, I did post on another thread as I wasn't get much of response on this thread. But yes rathbone I did already have surgery. The first biopsy showed DCIS, it was not until the surgery that they discovered the invasive papillary carcinoma. I am learning it is very rare and will be going to Dana Farber for a 2nd opinion.  Thank you very much for responding!

When you said you had surgery, did you mean you had a lumpectomy or a mastectomy  or just a biopsy so far?  I have recently been diagnosed and been to an oncology breast surgeon.  I want to compare notes with you.

I had a lumpectomy with a breast reduction. The full path report showed the new diagnosis, the core biopsy only showed the DCIS. What is your current diagnosis? My BS is presenting the case at the Cancer board this tuesday and wil then advise what they are recommending.

The biopsy report said it is invasive papillary carcinoma. A cancer board met on my case after the biopsy and a breast MRI. They looked at all my other mammograms and ultrasounds, the MRI, etc.  The MRI showed no other cancer.  I will have a lumpectomy this Fri. and will get the full pathology report on SN and the tumor.  It was very small and well defined.  If the report is good, I may not have to have radiation, but may have hormonal therapy and some chemo to be sure no cell got away from the breast.

I hope the report is good for you! It sounds very promising. Since I had a breast reduction with the lumpectomy, the breast tissue has been moved around alot so now it is more complicated as we did not have a clear margin and it might be difficult to get to it. I may now need a masectomy but I am hoping I will not.Everything is on the table at this point, but my doctor will not give me an indication of what is next until she meets with the cancer board. Good luck with your Lumpectomy!
