Possible liver mets

I am so angry and scared!!! Went for a gallbladder ultrasound, found a 1.5cm stone.  Thought that was a good thing, no big deal.  Next day my doctor calls me and tell me that there are solid lesions on my liver that were not there last April when I was scanned.

 I did 12 taxol, 9 Avastin, and 4 dd a/c.  I had a fantastic response to the chemo and my onc was thrilled. Just finished radiation on 1/31/2011.  This was not supposed to happen.

I will be scanned this week and see my onc on Wed.  All I can do is cry and throw up.  I have Ativan but do not want to sleep all the time because the problem is still there when I wake up.

Someone please tell me that this can be controlled.  I will take maintainence chemo forever if that is what it takes to see my son who is 14 grown and with a family of his own.

    I don't have mets, but go over to the stage IV forum to just "take a peek"--there are tons of beautiful women dealing and living with mets, leading pretty normal lives, and many of them have been dealing with their mets for years! 

    Also, a good friend of mine was just diagnosed with liver mets a few months ago (after 14 years of remission!) and she started xeloda, and her mets are gone!!!  So. . . there is hope!

    ah waterloo, this is tough, sorry i cant be of help but wishing you well and hopefully you will be like weety friend.

    i have gallbladder trouble myself but no stones just they think its sluggish, started with first chemo plus avastin in june 2009 and still giving me epigastric pain and swelling. they did an ultrasound last year and thankfully came back clear for both liver and gallstones.

     Wow, I'm about 2 days behind you I think. I had emergency gallbladder surgery last summer, and things just haven't been right since - I've been having a lot of abdominal pain in that area, bloating, trouble sleeping b/c pain, etc. and I went to my GI after too many other docs said "oh that's normal after surgery". He ordered an ultrasound and there's a fricking tumor. 

     I have my CT scan tomorrow and my medical oncologist gives me the results Friday AM. I'm expecting liver mets. The one thing I know is that I haven't gotten the dx yet, so I'm not 100% in the hole, and the second thing I know is that based on the reaction of the medical staff around me, it's coming. It's not the best news, that's for sure, it changes the ball game, and it would sure piss me off, if that's what I have to deal with. But it's not lights out. There are lots of treatment options and I'm a fighter. I was just hoping I'd have a longer time between diagnoses. 

    I actually had a little bit of time where I was starting to feel great after I finished all my surgeries in 2010 (April) and when I had my gallbladder removed, and it was so terrific. And I'd love to get that back.

    Just take it one step at a time. It sucks because it's not what you expected. But it's not the end of the story.

    I started back on chemo April 13.  Gemzar/Carboplatin.  I get treated days 1 and 8 then a week off.  I am starting to wrap my head around having to do all of this again, but I am not very happy about it. I will deal with it though.

    I have a bone scan tomorrow to see if anything is going on there. 

    I will fight this stuff with everything I can, I refuse to give up.
