Hi cookie, I havnt had dreams lately but just before i was dx i dream't that my mom who passed away told me to go to the dr didnt know at the time what that meant but as soon as I found out I had bc i knew what she was trying to tell me. I listen to my dreams I belive they have meaning. I hope and pray that yours are just fears about what could happen not that it will. (((((((((hugs)))))))))))))

All the time. I think it is PTSD related. Post traumatic Stress Disorder from all we have been through.
-
Yes. I was told we suffer from "emotional scars" as any "victim" does.

I am so glad you posted this. I have dreams all the time. Actually, I never used to take any kind of medication and now I take something every night to sleep. If I don't, I dream about my funeral. YUCK!!!!!

mine are so specific....one was mets in my spine, one was a new little tumor in my other breast...I hope they go away after this week.

I dreamed Saturday that my doctor cut my breast off, it didn't hurt, and layed it on the table. Then he cut it in half and we looked at the tumor. I'm currently waiting for biopsy results after a spot lit up on PET scan. I guess it's on my mind more than I thought it was. Seems like it is for many of us.

I dreamed last night that I got lymphedema in my arm, it was very swollen and I had tumors on my wrist.
This is the first time I dreamt about it....

I dream that I have pains and then I wake up and wonder if I really am having them, such as around my jaw area. I had a dream the other night that someone was gnawing on my leg. I do not look foreword to sleeping anymore. I toss and turn and sweat all night long. This morning, I woke up and saw a utility pole that looked like a cross and I thought I saw Jesus on it, I was just coming out of sleep (and I am not religious). I'm not actually crazy...but starting to feel like I am GOING crazy. The worst part about this is the dreams I would sometimes have in the past, in which something horrible would happen like what HAS happened. I would wake up and say, oh thank God it was only a dream. I could get up and go on with my day and think about the future without a worry in the world. Yes, I was naive but I did have this luxury. This is all still new for me and I'm still trying to figure out how to live with the new normal and the uncertain future. It would be nice to have a pleasant anxiety free sleep at night with pleasant hopeful dreams that inspired and gave comfort.

@itp...ooh. I have not had any dreams about my LE yet.
Sleep well ladies!

I, too, have been having fairly explicit dreams. At times they wake me and i am shaken up for the whole day. I think that this may be a way for the subconscious to deal with this omnipresent fear that we tamp down and supress during the day. I guess it has to bubble out. I'd like to think that this is a normal part of the process, but i agree that sometimes its very hard. One night i dreamt that i was nursing a baby but that it was hurting the baby and splashing toxic orange ooze onto it. I was urged to stop but i was crying too hard that i didnt want to... Woke up so sad. I think we have been through so much and are expected to deal with it. I guess this is one way.

Cookie, I had dreams about cancer coming back every night for 4 months post diagnosis and thus would wake up and be afraid to fall back asleep. Finally I saw a psychologist who helped me work through the PTSD and now I don't have those dreams anymore.

Im glad Im taking ambien to sleep, now I dont have those terrible dreams any more that used to keep me awake at night, if i do i dont remember them.
