I  finished my chemo in April of 2010 and Herceptin in August of 2010.  I was one of those ladies that all the treatments hit me pretty hard.  Last summer my husband, a baseball fanatic, got season tickets.  I wanted to go with him to a few games because he was so good during my treatment and I knew that he wanted me to go.  Anyway,  last summer walking to the stadium we had to stop frequently for me to rest.  I was miserable during the games, and was exhausted coming back to the car after the game.  I was broiling in my wig but there was no way I wasn't wearing one with just the peach fuzz that was on my head.  Would come home and take a long nap.

Today we went to the first game for us this season.  As we were driving to the stadium I realized how good I felt.  The walk to the stadium from the parking lot was nothing!  I had a great time, even walked around to see what was at the stadium.  I was so happy for the difference that I teared up.  Life is full of little joys and today was one for me.  (Still came home and took a nap but that's OK.  Didn't practically pass out like last year)

Still doing some whining because of the Tamoxifen hot flashes (OMG!!!)  But seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak, was a biggie for me.

I told me husband all this and he responded with a "Aww honey, that's nice"  Didn't get the significance so I wanted to share with you ladies who would understand.

Oh, and no wig!!!!  Just chemo curls that are now highlighted with blonde!

Shelly- I am so happy for you.  I know how you feel.  My son is 15 and he plays travel baseball, fall ball and school baseball and I missed alot of games last year.  I love that I am feeling up to going and seeing him now.  I feel like I missed out on so much last year with surgeries, infections, etc.  I just finished chemo October 28th, so I am still sporting the wig, but I can imagine it is a wonderful feeling when you finally feel good not only physically but mentally too.  Good for you.  To many more happy days!  Take Care.  Allison

Thanks Allison.  I'm glad you are up to your son's games.  It's a nice feeling to realize things have gotten better.
