Dear Hair,

I can't believe it's been almost two months since we had to part ways. After our forty years together the split has just taken a huge toll on me.  Every morning when I look in the mirror, I'm reminded how much I miss you. I know I took you for granted for so long, but the short of it all is that I just didn't know how good I had it.  In the beginning of our relationship, I know you were so untamed, and so sensitive to the weather.  I did you a great injustice by just trying to hide you, slick you back like you didn't matter.  Some days when we were young teenagers, you let your true colors show.  When you were unruly the kids called me mushroom head, and then after puberty we started working together to shine. 

As we grew older, I know I sometimes neglected you.  And when things were tight, I even had to buy generic pantene! I know how shameful.  Gone were the youthful days of Silkience shampoo, and the occasional egg, mayo, and beer conditioner!  I so abused you, making you curl, making you wave, the heat you had to bear for me....how did you manage not to tangle yourself in my vanity?!!

Oh my dearest hair, when we can finally be together again, I promise to let you be all you want to be.  I promise to keep you looking young always, and to keep the blues and grays away from you.  I will buy you only the best, and we will recapture our youth with all the Aveda you want to drink.  I won't try to hide you ever again, and I won't ever think you are too much trouble, you won't be any trouble at all, not even on rainy days...

For now I must just keep our hair raising memories close to my heart, and pamper my skin instead.  But Hair, make no worry that you will always be my diva!  Until we meet again,
