Guess I will have to think of what food we will have. Can't have a party without food now. Don't know about the happy juice. Seems everytime I bring it, everyone goes to sleep early. Must be Tamox and alcohol don't play well together - darn it.

HI SUNANGEL Hope all is well by you too! hanging in over here!
JO.. food...hmmmm how bout some gourmet pizzas this week??? yup you know that happy juice just makes me fly into walls...... more than usual! ha

We don't want you to hurt yourself - that would be bad, plus you might damge your wings. I love pizza so I will look into what kind I can make. Maybe we should settle for sodas and ice tea??
-
sounds great and if need be... I always carry around a little extra "pixie dust" that we could add to the sodas and tea...hehehehe.... oops there I go again!

Hi Grls!! SOO sorry I have been MIA.
Just having a rough go of it lately. Not much up to reading or posting, so sorry!! I have read through all of the pages to catch up though. I wanted to offer what I could.....
Surfette....I just had an appt with my MO yesterday and asked her why I had not had any tumor marker tests. She pretty much explained to me that they typically don't do it on such a low stage, early cancer as mine. The problem with the tumor marker test is that it is not failproof. It can come in higher on some one who is perfectly fine...only to be tested and re-tested and looking for things when nothing is there. And it can alternately come in low when unfortunatley, gives a false sense of security that all is well...and come to find out some months later that it is not. SO, she said not something they typically do. I had asked about the CEA and the CA 27-29 and she said CEA is mostly used for colon cancer now and there was another, the CA 15-3 that they use for BC. I have bloodwork done every three months. (I've had lots of testing with blood draws since dx...surprised that some don't get that? seems there is a lot that can be told by the blood..has been for me anyway!....I get liver, CBC, iron, vit D, etc all the time) I go back in 3 months and she has said she will do the CA-15-3 tumor marker test on me to get a "baseline" as something to go with from here on out. I think you should maybe look at your result as more of that...and watch what it does from here on out instead of worrying it is "high". It most likely means nothing. Just somewhere to monitor from. Ha, would be lying if I didn't admit I was now nervous about getting this test tho. LOL
Sandee- Take your break. It will be ok.
HUGS to you!! But truly, I have to say I agree, it is best to take your break and let your heart heal....that is a serious thing. And I say this from what I am going though also. I have consistently had one of my blood clotting tests come back just below normal range. Not in a range that my MO "is all that concerned" about BUT still she is curious as to why? So 3-4 tests...still low. It's a natural anti-coagulant in our blood called protein C. Mine is just low out of range. Yes, she agreed that it probably does up my risk of blood clot slightly. But how worried is she about it....not SO much. But still. I am. I told her I just mentally could not get to 20mg because of this....still at 10. She said she understood and was ok with me staying at 10. Yes, the studies were done at 20 but 10 may be ok ...basically. Anyway, I understand completely about wanting to do everything possible to stop the beast that is BC....but in my mind...the other is equally scary. So 10 it is for me as of now. At least I am getting something. We discussed my "options"....and that would be ooph and probably even hysto because of my heavy periods that keep wreaking havoc on my iron levels. She said that would take care of the Tamox/blood clotting issue and I could go on one of the other AI's but I could also go on nothing. She mentioned European studies that say pre menopausal women with low stage, etc, cancer who have ovaries removed benefit about the same. So NO drugs would be wonderful!! But that's a no turning back kind of thing so I don't know what to do. Ovaries removed=instant menopause.....not go so good, what then? Ugh.
June, I'm so glad they found something!
Ha, totally get it. Hopefully you will be on the mend and feeling wonderful very soon!! I remember when I had my endoscopy years ago, they gave me sometihng, I think it probably was Versed (which I've had more then a few times now! hah)...and told my husband after....I think I need just a little of that every day. ha....
Jo and Alicia!! yay for you!!! So happy you have vacations coming up!! It will be so good for you.
I so wish I had one but I am truly happy that you two have them! I will live it through you all!!
Update us here please!!
Oh and the Vit D level went from 37.5 to 46...in approx 3 months. Slowwwww. Started at 17 LOW. So it is moving on up but just so slowly.....5,000D3 a day. Oh my iron dipped back down again...seems an ongoing battle. But a battle that has to be kept just "so" in balance. I had read that too much iron can feed cancer cells and she said yes, there has been some discussions on that lately. She said some believe that we should deprive our bodies of iron as to not "feed" the cancer cells.....but her thought it no, iron deprevation, anemia is also not a good state. Just need to watch and keep an eye on and not take too much. Balance. Gosh...it's all overwhelming to me.
I did get the okay to take DIM and Calcium D Glucarate, which are two supplements that I've researched.....so that's good. I very much like my Dr...spends alot of time with me and never feel rushed...she is very open minded and very good bed side manner...but also very straightforward, which I appreciate.Hope you all are doing well...Tink...you ARE staying out of trouble I hope!!!
lol

-
Jo what time is it in Cali? I think you are 3 hours behind me here......it is 10:45 and I think i might need to sign off, however I took a nap after my procedure today and not sure if I am going to be lying there staring at the ceiling.....
-
June - I am not in California, I am in Texas. You should be one hour ahead of me. We are on Central Time.
-
Why the heck did I think you were in Cali....dang I feel stupid....
-
June - Don't feel stupid. I think at one time I told you I was originally from California. Blame the confusion on the Tamoxifen.
-
Good Night Everyone. Going to try and get some sleep - have to work tomorrow.
