DEIP wait for Dr Zhong or someone else?

I have now been rescheduled twice to see Dr Zhong regarding reconstruction.  I have been told she is one of the best, but this wait is a little crazy.  My first referral was Sept/10 and the appointment was to be March/11.  It was then rescheduled to April/11 and now I can't get in to see her for an initial consult until Aug/11???!!  After that, it seems there is another 8-12 months before you can actually get scheduled for surgery.

So...  is she worth the wait?  I can travel to Hamilton, London, wherever if there are other DEIP surgeons that are highly recommended.  I just like to get on with and get this chapter in my life closed.

    Hi Shoe,

Dr. Zhong did my TE expander surgery last Wednesday, March 30. So far, she's been excellent. However, she does seem to be very busy! I can't get a fill scheduled until May 13th, six weeks post-surgery whereas other women on this board get their first fill within two weeks of surgery.

I too am a patient of Dr. Zhongs. I would be very upset if my consultation was delayed 5 months! I can say that I am happy with the results but I did not have the same surgery you are looking to have.

I don't know if others feel this way, but IMO, over the past year she has gone from a caring, compassionate Dr, to one who is now way too busy, doesn't have time to answer questions and always seems in a rush. Not to say her ability to do a great job has suffered in any way, it's just that I find she doesn't have time to communicate or deal with patients. In reality, I guess that's what happens to all good PS. They do a great job, build a practice and everything else takes a back seat with the only important thing being the actual surgery.

I do know that most of the good PS in Toronto have a long wait time and I guess I'd rather wait and be happy with the results. I just would be extremely turned off at having my initial consultation delayed by 5 months. It seems disrespectful to do that to someone. Have you questioned why this has happened. I think she's recently had a staff change and perhaps you somehow got lost in the shuffle.
