I feel so blessed.  I live in a teeny, weeny little cabin in the hills/woods of Western MA.  Haven't traveled ( by choice in years & years) - and I have such inspiring places to paint, thanks to Lisa, and my books.

My Canon printer acually ran out of ink - and that's how I learned there are places that sell Refill Ink kits  so I don't have to keep buying those pricey ink cassettes!  I AM SO EXCITED.  Just ordered it & I plan to print out ALL my downloaded pictures.  Can't wait!  More thank yous!!!!!

OMG, I love this thread.  I haven't been on the boards in a while and now I find myself checking regulary to see the new art work.  Jackie I love necklace.  FuzzyLemon I hope your chemo goes well.  SoCalLisa your photos rock!.....I love the rose.   Hmmm I wonder how I could get an art group going for our local cancer patients.  Jackie do you know how the creative circle got started or who I could contact there.  I think this might be just the thing I'm looking for.

    TGIF!

    Caerus-Sunflowers:

It is sea glass, pottery, and a few other things. Didn't it turn out beautiful? I was paired with a jewelry artist and she and I designed it together, then she finished it for me. The pieces are individually crocheted around the edges with cording and wire, glued on, then tied onto the backing. I love it too! What kind of jewelry do you make?

    One love, Jackie

    Jackie,

How brilliant a way to finish a piece.  II used to make rather elaborate necklaces made of hand blown glass beads ( not mine!) and other dichroic glass.  Don't do as much anymore -  but I'm now eyeing my collection of stones, beach glass, found objects - and my life time collection of crochet needles, string, leather strips,  JOY, JOY, JOY!!!!

CindaD - I would look up to see if you have "Art therapists" listed in your area.  In Northampton MA there is a Cancer Connection - resource for all kinds of ativities.  An Artist association, local Craft Center, might ive you leads to people who could help you organize.  Also, outreach at local hospitals.  Good luck.  I'll check with the woman who started Art from the Heart to see if she has more ideas.

    Lisa

I LOVE the mystery of the Iris, the different color combinations, and the resilience - the ifted roots will thrive almost anywhere!!!  I remember when my Grandpa used to clear out his Iris Garden, and put the little cut pieces on the mulch pile  - and soon I'd find little Iris growning there!  Magic - just like our healing after all the treatments Wink

Wow! You ladies are so talented and inspiring! I'm so glad I found this thread. I love to write, stories, children's books, poetry... I have about 5-6 chapters left of a book about 2 girls coming of age during the Woodstock era. And the main protagonist's name is Cinda! haha Just like our CindaD. I just love that name. Anyway, I haven't been able to write much in a couple of months--too exhausted to get the brain going.  My RO says that I should be able to get back into it by the Summer sometime.

But I also enjoy photography, sewing, jewelry making, and drawing (though I haven't done that in ages!)  You have inspired me to get out the old sketch pad and see what I can come up with today.Surprised Thank you so much for that! I really have been stuck in a rut since BC came to town.

I have one of the canon professional printers that sits in my garage

It has ten different inks and when I buy new ones, at least one of them

has contact problems with the printer and it will not print..so I finally

ditched it...my DH bought it for me as a surprise a few years ago

and I kept trying to like it and make it work ,but it is now officially

    dumped..

now I just use by cheapie HD printer..but I am enjoying

what I am doing once again..

Jackie: That necklace is so unique and gorgeous. I just love it!

Fuzzy: You inspire me to get back to my drawing. I forgot how much I enjoyed it.

Lisa: Lovely photos! Photography is one of my favorite things, though I don't know a lot of the technical aspects of it. What kind of camera do you use?

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend. It's sunny but cold here in Maine today. I'm looking forward to warmer weather!

if we get it here in MA, we'll send it "downeast" - at least it's sunny today - wind strong enough to about knock me over.  I too am inspired by the drawings fuzzylemon is doing - and she is so early in her treatment  Really fantastic.

Thank you all ... it's really a blessing that this thread came along!!  Thank you Caerus-Sunflowers for brining us together and inspiring us to ...well, inspire!!  I'm on day two post treatment and so far it's the most mild SE's.  Still a struggle, but not nearly as bad!!  I took my book to treatment but the sedated me and I slept through the whole thing!

I can't wait til we are done designing the new garden...I will definitley post pic's of that!!  My husband decided to really make it "something" ...

    Hugs to all!!

I really messed this painting up big time.  This painting was for charity but I think it is more appropriate for the "let's put this painting away in a cupboard and review it again in x number of months" LOL

The above is an example about a painting not working with the mind's eye, we put it away and bring it out at a later date and voila, we either know instantly what the problem is or we put it away for another viewing. Ask any artist, they all have these paintings hidden away!LOL

Painterly: I had trouble uploading too... you have to post your image somewhere on the web (Flickr, etc.) the click the picture button (looks like a tree) to go find it. Good luck, I would love to see what you have to share!

SoCAL your photos are magical, what type of camera do you use.  I bought myself a new camera for a "chemo present" while I was going thru tx, that was about 2 1/2 years ago and I still don't know how to use all of the bells and whistles....and it's really not that complicated.  I've taken a bazillion pictures, I bought photo shop (a dancing with NED gift) ......never used it!  You've inspired me to give it a try........so many creative ideas, so little time, why does work have to get in the way?

Sandy, not to many people have my name, where did you hear it?

Fuzzy hang in there, I hope you're feeling well.

Cinda, I have a canon sx20is which is not a high end camera and a small panasonic

DMC-ZS5 ..most of the time I just use automatic..the trick for me in getting the focus

to agree with me. When I take pix of flowers, I never use a flash and even when the

camera wants to I override it and take it anyway..most of the charm of taking pix

is getting adjusted to what ever camera you do have. Another trick I use is never

to use the close up flower settings..what I do is back up and use my zoom to focus

in if I want the background not too sharp...and I guess the other thing is to really

watch out for the background in any photo. My next door neighbor took one with

    laundry drying behind his pictures...oops

Oh, and Cinda, just play around with your camera...it is not like 35 mm when you had to

    pay for all the pix

Cinda: I don't know where I heard the name before, or if I did. When I started my book, the title came to me first--Cindarella Lollypop. The 2 protagonists are Cinda and Lolly. It feels so funny to be addressing you as Cinda. I feel as if I know you because of MY Cinda!
