Dawney- I have no words of wisdom specifically regarding this new event....but I know from my own that breathing calming breaths kept me safe and sound while waiting for an ambulance at 2am and keeping my sense of humour and need to know what is going on and asking questions kept me sane in the operating room. You will be ok...they know what they are doing or they wold not be doing it my lovely. Really...we are here if you need us. VENT AWAY!!!

My gal pal has MS and she, like all of us, takes care of others first...always others...this weekend, we took care only of ourselves.....and we needed it. Might book up a facial this week one i get my dr's note and know what my schedule will be ....mornings or afternoons....so...

Jo- Thanks for letting me join in with the pillow.s. Managed to crink my neck someohow carrying a bag too heavy for my shoulders likely so....will bow out of the barrage of pillows tonight. I will sit in Tink's corner and watch tonight:)

Sandee - Why don't you be the referee?  You will have to keep a close eye on Tink - she can be sneaky.  Also, don't forget June - she has thrown in some sneak attacks lately.  Let's hope Tink did not work those cowboys too hard cleaining her house this weekend.   hehehe  Hope you are feeling better today.

Sandee My best friend also has MS she got after her children were born.  She has had some really scary times and we are always wondering when she will be in a wheel chair....horrible to think of, but she now walk with a limp and had her whole body paralyzed for over 2 months and yes she has done wonderful lately, one just never knows and she takes care of everyone but herself.....her children are in their 20's now, so she has had this for quite some time......I am glad that you and her could just relax and enjoy yourself....

Jo I miss you too, I try to get on but too many little children in the way daily....ha ha  And come on you seriously cannot compare me to little Tink.....she is way sneakier than I......

Sherry you out there today?  ECG, I miss you, hope you are doing well.....

Hugs ladies and we will chat later.....

June/Jo/Tink-ok...put heat and ice on my shulder last night and took a tylenol at bedtime and I am ready to rock and roll!!!

June- My gal pal has done amazingly well....her incident caused her to lose her vision ...double vision for a couple of months but no license for 6 and some weird tingly things. Her gait is still fine. She gets a needle every day - there were oiginally three medical optins she could go with so she took the one wth th e least side effects....she also found going gluten free helped her to manage her symptoms more too ( and lose 20 lbs!!). She is aware that a wheel chair could be in her future but for now, we are just walking as much as possible. 12.5 miles this weekend..not bad all things considering! She also has an incredibly stressful life (2 teens both playing hockey, full time job, full renovations going onin her basement and both parents moved to a nursing home since Xmas....at different times....lots of other people's needs there (and now coming to visit me )..but we hav epromised each other that facials, long walks and yoga are on the agenda starting this week! So..we will remind each other andthat will help.

I had a great time this weekend. Think I need to have massages on a regular basis. Think I will check into that.

June - Did the usual weekend stuff, laundary, grocery shopping.  Managed to get lots of sewing time in.  Finished one quilt and am working on another one.  Doing the hand quilting on that one and it will take some time - there are a lot of small blocks.  We have 12 days till the ship leaves, 11 days till we leave here.  Am getting excited.

We may have to clip Tink's wings just to have a fair advantage.

Sherry - I forgot to thank you for the cowboys.  Hope they get lots of rest this week.  hehehe  Glad you had a good time this weekend - you more than deserved that.  I booked a massage on the ship for my birthday - that is going to be soooo nice.

Tink - It is going to be hot here today.  Temps in the high 90s and humid.  Tomorrow is going to be a bit cooler.

Jo, I am so happy that you are getting away from it all and I forgot that I read you did some quilting over the weekend for everyone who was so good to you....I love that about you, nice to give back isn't it????  I am such a giver and not a taker.....

Sherry:  You look awesome.  Your profile pic does not do you justice!

I've been stalking here since the beginning, trying to decide about Tammy...My BC was grade one, and having all of these other plumbing issues, so I love to get the scoop in real life.  Tammy could enhance my current uterine fibroids, and it's such a toss up as to whether it will beneficial or harmful.   Thank you, all of you, for sharing!

Sherry ~ great pics, you look wonderful !  Glad you had a nice weekend.  Hope you get to catch the cowboys on Friday !!  :)

I am exhausted still recovering from Fridays stressful hours in the ER.  I have a followup appointment with my primary dr tomorrow.  I will rest easier when that is over with.

Hope everyone is having a great day !

    :)

I worked at a fire department for 25 years, (and I even married one of them), so I know quite a few firefighters I could bring along!!!Cool

girlfriday thanks I think my friends bring out the best in me. I would talk to my gyno and onco about the fibroids. I know that they can keep a close watch for those things knowing what tammi does. Seems all my Dr's have drilled it into my head how much I need this little pill that even though I have had SE's I won't even consider not taking it.

Alicia I hope your follow up appt goes well tomorrow so you can ease your mind and get ready for that cruise.

Wouldn't you know that today my stomach started acting up again and I had a couple of days relief from the breast pain and it is back as well. Still not going to take my sleeping pill tonight and see how the insomnia is. I go to yoga on Monday nights so I figure that is probably the best time to test it after a good workout.

Bring on the firefighters or cowboys - I'm not picky!

Sherry - What a nice set of photos.  You are one beautiful gal. Bummer that the tummy aches and breast pain is back.  If I could make it going away forever I would in a heart beat.

Alicia - Hope you get to feeling better soon.  Rest is good.

Schipmom - Bring all the firefighters you want - the more the merrier I say!  hehehe

I am going to take to my gyno in June when I see him for my annual pap.  I also have a history of fibroids and am curious to see if the Tammy has effected them at all.

Been a long day at work and I have been feeling crappy all day.  Don't like this at all and feeling so darn good lately.  I am feeling kinda down and want to crawl under the covers and hide from the world for a while.  Really tired, not sleeping well.  Been having this recurring "nightmare" over the past week or so that scares me so bad I make myself wake up and then can't get back to sleep for hours.  Hope I bounce back out of this real soon.  Sorry to bring everyone down - I hate to whine.

Jo as you are always telling us, it is OK TO VENT ON THIS THREAD, whine away because you have been there for us when we have been whinny.  I hope that nightmare goes away and maybe tomorrow will be a new day and you will feel better.

Jo ~ hugs...  I am feeling so down in the dumps too.  I cannot put my finger on it.  I could cry at the drop of a hat.  For some reason all I can think about is cancer coming back and killing me.  When I can squash that feeling down, I still have awful sadness that I cannot shake.  I hope you feel better soon.  Wishing that darn nightmare away !!

Leaving for Reno in the morning.  My hubby is bowling in Nationals (he is a good bowler but you just have to pay your money to go to Nationals).  I am actually bowling this year as their 5th guy sinc ethye are one short.  Hopefully, I can bowl okay.  I smashed my finger between 2 bowling balls on Thursday and it is black and blue and kind of numb.  Looking forward to the trip.  Wish the weather forcast was better but at least it beats being at work.  Our weather at home isn't supposed to be good either.  We are flying to Phoenix from Reno to see relatives so at least it will be warmer.

Hope everyone has a good week.  Hope surgery goes well for Dawn.

Alicia - Since you brought it up, I will tell everyone the nightmare is that I get the results of my mammo in June and the cancer has come back but on the other side.  The nightmare is really vivid and clear.  I get so scared I have to wake myself up and am afraid to go back to sleep.  Sometimes I go in the other room where my DH can not hear me and just cry.  Then I get angry at myself for letting those thoughts into my head.  That is the last thing I want to even think about.  I try so very hard to stay positive and tell myself I will get a clear mammo.  I do know about the sadness and I too, sometimes have a hard time shaking it.

We just need to get our bags packed and get the heck out of dodge.  Then we won't think about this crap,, we will be having way too much fun.  (((HUGS)))

Tink - Thanks for chatting with me about your recon, I feel better today.

June - thanks for the fb message.  I miss coming on here but I was spending all my time on the computer and something had to give.

Hi Ladies!! I am so behind I will catch up reading later. Quick question/comment.

I went to my BS today and he asked me how it was going on T. I told him that I had a major meltdown two weeks ago and decided to take (with onc approval) a week break from it. He I also told him about an upcoming sinus surgery and he said you know you should stop taking T two weeks prior to surgery AND if you are flying on a long flight you should stop taking a couple weeks in advance of flight as well. He said because of the clot issue. Im glad 6 months later someone told me. Has anyone else been told this??? Just curious.

Hope you all are well...Alicia you sound like how I felt a few weeks ago...could NOT stop crying for three days...then I was done. I hope you feel better soon.

DiDel - I was told both by my oncologist but I don't remember what time frame was, if it was two weeks before or something different.  I am having surgery next week and am stopping Tamox today.

Didel? WTF??? stop taking it before you fly? Seriously? so if I had not had the heart attack and had not cancelled my vacation, this could have happened anyhow because of tami? Seriously? I have flown 3times (x2) since January........what else don't I know? Saw my radiologist today and because of the heart attack and new meds, I have to make another appointment with my oncologist...no kidding but I will be asking about flying too!!!! He didn't say a thing when I told him that I would likely not be in the country wo years from now for my next appointment..how did he think I was going to get somewhere else? swim? Clearly I was still on tami when I had the stent put in two weeks ago....and they kept feeding it to me in the hospital...Anyhow...the radiology appointment went smoothly...all concerns were calmed re. aching breast (typical), sore ribs(not uncommon), can't wear wrie bra( that should be ok in a few months) and was again told that my breasts do not match my age and it will be easy to detect any changes. (phew!)....no melt down being in th eradiology department..and his nurse told me that I could go to my mammogram in May or June so tomorrow when I see my dr. about a note to return to work, I am going to ask if they can move it up to May....really do not need the extra month of anxiety! I also told my radiologists nurse that I am taking 10mgs 2x per day instead of the 20mgs and it helps so ....she took note and said that it was good to know for when other women talk about hot flashes! there you go ladies. You have helped somemore women!!

Jo- I undersand....with lobular features, I too fear cancer in the other breast...but I think our fears and concerns are normal, I really do....maybe set out some tea paraphenalia or hot chocolate or something so if you wake up, you can soothe yourself back to sleep....So sorry you are having nightmares.

Dawney, be gentle with yourself this week, hmm?

    Alicia- ditto my dear....go gently.

re. cowboys vs firefighters? Either will do :)

Sandee - You have to wonder why we are not giving all the information in the beginning.  Seems we have to beat it out of them sometimes.  That is just not right.  Seems my list of questions keeps getting longer and longer for my onc.  I am so glad it is not just me with these fears and that they are normal.  I truly believe that once I have that first clear mammo, I will breath a bit easier.  I do have some tea that helps with sleep - gonna get that out of the cupboard and make some before I go to bed tonight.
