I walk 3 miles 3 days a week. I eat less meat. I'm trying to eat no meat, no sugar and very little diary. I take a lot of supplements and I'm trying to use little to no chemicals on my hair and body.

Pretty much what you are doing, but in addition avoid stress at all cost. It's hard to find all natural products. So what I have done was reduce and scale back on what I use daily. Becoming a simple CHICK is cheaper...

    Mmmm.... ok.

    I can't walk 5 miles a day anymore.

    I can't bellydance anymore.

    I can't do aerobic anymore.

    I can't cardio anymore.

    I can't dance, period, anymore.

My gardening work is about 30 minutes a day instead of 2-3 hours.

My sculpting is down to 1-2 pieces a month from 4-5 pieces a month.

My painting is down to 1 piece every other month from 5-10 pieces a month.

I didn't go fishing since beginning of summer 2009.

    I didn't go hiking since summer 2009.

    I'm taking Aromasin.

    I'm taking Percocet.

    I have huge insomnia problems.

I eat way more meat than I used to (dr's said I dont' have enough protein to recover after the surgeries and chemo)

There are a few more. Not fun.

I take a whole bunch of supplements, only drink about one glass of wine every few MONTHS, am at the gym 6 days/week working HARD, eat little refined sugar/flour and lots of fresh vegetables. Also am much more intentional and stratetic on how I spend my time/energy/money. I try to make every day count and not let my time be wasted with things/people that aren't truly of value to me.

Haven't changed a thing. I almost died years ago from a ruptured ectopic pregnancy when I was pregnant with twins. Then I almost died from a collapsed lung and I needed major surgery for that too. So now, I am just going to live the rest of my life in what I consider the fast lane and leave the rest of my fate to the heavens up above. I do, however, remember to wear my seat belt. That makes me feel like I have at least, some control of an uncontrollable life.

I guess I feel I have to enjoy some things, every thing in moderation.

I would like to hear more on this subject.

    Take care til later.

More walking for exercise; less red meat;more fish; switched to organic milk(my 9 yo swears it taste different!); lots of water~love my Camelbak water bottle; less stressing about the little things; spending more time with my family; new vitamin regimine~vit D, C, fish oil in addition to my normal multi-vit, and my Celexa; cut out my one Sprite/day and don't miss it; started one cup of green tea/day and now actually enjoy it;finally at 40 realized the fragility of life, the importance of appreciating each day and take nothing for granted.

Dairy products are high in omega 6 which is causes inflammation.  Inflammation at a cellular level is part of the mechanism that causes cancerous growth.

Grass fed cows have high amounts of omega 3 (The good one ). The cows that eat grains have high amounts of omega 6 (bad one). The meat, cheese, and milk of the mega 3 cows without any added hormones should be ok in small amounts.

    Dear Thatgirl,

Cows are as responsive to what they eat as we are.  Milk can vary in nutrients depending on what the cow eats/time of year.  I was always amazed growing up at the difference in milk production when we turned our cows out to grass each spring.  This was as opposed to eating hay and corn silage all winter.  We fed them grain winter and summer, but more grain in the winter.

The point never left me, certainly regarding what I put into my own mouth.

Going back to milk production.  It would increase by about 20% overall.  The milk would also have a higher butterfat content.  We didn't test for other nutrients, so I can't say.

As to what cows eat, you often don't have a choice as they would starve in the winter in northern climates without hay.

Overall, I notice a difference between organic and regular milk, but here one of the local dairies has equally good regular milk, so have not been paying the difference in price.

Where I do pay the price is EGGS.  Recently, I have been stopping by the farm, taking eggs from the fridge, and leaving money in the jar.  Just amazing and delish.

    Hi Thatgirll,

I have tried to exercise, like walking as I am not a small person.  It is desperate time again(Spring time) so I am doing my" steps" right now, it feels good, and I walk some days---it was Winter and I done very lil--Push has come to Shove!!!

I am guilty as to what I eat, (everything) in moderation, I do like to cook and have my Husband and Son. that I cook for most times.  I try to always eat less on my plate.  I love chocolate ( that is my choice of Drugs)Smile and I have never been able to give it up, so I do have my candies once in a while.  I have been diagnosed with (Chemical Diabetes) it came after the Chemo, I have been Blessed to" keep it under wraps"  with and A1C 5.8

I "journal" everyday about "everything and nothing" and this helps, as sometimes "you just don't care to talk and I feel it is very important to "get it out" just things and this helps me.  I started my journals the 1st day of Jan. 1999 and have kept them up.

    That's about it for me.

    Til later,

    Linda C.

I never had this happen before and it does not seem to be names of posts  I recognize.

It is not something scary, will check it out, just wondering.

    Thanks for any info.

To all of you Enjoy your Resurrection/Easter Day!!

I just keep on LIVING LIFE to the fullest...I don't sweat the small and just live each day as it is my last. I take Vitamin D and other wellness pills from the health food store I exercise 4-5 times a week and try to way more selective in the food I eat. To be honest I am not sure this is all helping but hey I am giving it a shot. Hanging on to HOPEInnocent.
