Armpit pain

I posted this on another thread, but so far no input so I decided that maybe someone here might give some insight.

Has anyone ever had a bruised feeling in their armpit?  I had my left side mx in 06-2007 and lately I have been having a throbbing/bruised feeling in my right armpit that also seems to radiate to the breast..  I just had a physical and my PCP and all my bloodwork (CBC) was normal except low WBC, which is always normally low.  Any ideas?

Thanks.

Trish

    Trish,

I have been experiencing similar symptoms, except I am experiencing it on the same side as my surgery which was 3 years ago. I am wondering if mine is scar tissue. Up until now, my armpit was kinda numb, but now numbness is gone. Can scar tissue be tender 2 1/2 - 3 years after surgery? I also have mild LE in my left arm so don't know if that is part of the problem or what is going on. I feel no lumps or bumps at all. Breast looks normal- tenderness seems to be near surgical scars and definitely radiates to breast area near incision area for lumpectomy-that spot has been tender since surgery. Sorry I don't have any words of wisdom for you, but if your blood work and everything were ok I wouldn't  worry to much about it. May be you just pulled a muscle. As we get older these tend to take longer to heal. How long have you been having these symptoms? I have had mine for 2 weeks. Anyone else out there experience something similar and have any words of wisdom to share?

Anyone out there experience arm pit pain 2 or more years after rads? Any ideas as to what it could be since there are no lumps, bumps, discoloration, etc? Is scar tissue a possiblity?

Kd .. I still have issues with my arm pit and it's been four years since surgery for me.  It's also numb, so I have to be careful shaving that side.  My doc's have pretty much told me it's permanent the way it is now.  I think it's scar tissue from surgery and rads.  Also, some nerve damage from treatment.

This just kinda occured 2 weeks ago and surgery and rads were 21/2- 3 yrs ago. Is it possible for "issues" to still occur?

    Hey prayrv:

I have had the same thing. My bc was on my right side, had mastectomy, lymph nodes out and rads and chemo.

Its been 7 years for me. About 2 years ago, I had that achy bruised, lumpy feeling in my other armpit. It came and went. But it has totally disappeared now.

      Hugs

    Wendy
