Checking in with Team January! Congrats on 100 pages. I hope everyone is weathering the rough seas of life OK. I'm lying in bed listening to my partner snore with the biggest dog snuggled up against her and the smallest cat riding the waves of her breathing. Life can be so sweet. Thank you, thank you, everyone for all you have shared with the rest of us. It helps me keep my life in perspective to hear your triumphs and terrors, and it comforts me to know that you are out there reading, even if you don't post.

Hello girls! Yay-100 pages!
I don't remember what I wrote about last...I've recovered from my ovary removal surgery just fine, although I still have some deep muscle pain when I bend over, or get in and out of my car (it's low). The scars are still red, so I'm not too thrilled to be naked in front of the husband right now. My libido hasn't really changed-it has been lacking since this whole process started, especially while going through chemo. My husband is being very patient surprisingly.
NIPPLES ON TUESDAY! Finally! I'm really excited, except for the wearing nipples shields for 2 weeks part. Luckily my bra has a tiny bit of padding in front. Then tattoos 6 weeks later. Even more excited about that. I'll be glad to look a little bit normal again, especially when I'm naked in front of the mirror or in front of the husband.
I quit my part-time job to stay home and do work for my husband's business. The computer work and filing is totally backed up, and I can pay myself more than double what I was making. I'll miss the girls at the salon, but not all the drama and backstabbing. Whew!
Our group seems to have gotten smaller, but it's great to hear from everyone. I hope everyone is enjoying spring weather by now! It's beautiful here, in the 80's and still kind of chilly at night. Perfect weather to have all the windows open in the evening.
Hugs to all!

Well, I must join in on this centennial celebration, too!!! Well, maybe *centennial* isn't quite the right word to use, but it was the first "100" word I thought of, so I just went with it
Nice to see some chatter on here....Thanks for the votes, Team J. Gina and I will know tomorrow, but by looking at the number of votes earlier, it appears that we may be getting to walk.....will let you know for sure as soon as we know for sure. I'm ok with it if I don't get to, but I really hope Gina gets to!!
Blessings to all....
-
Just a quick note to say THANK YOU to all of you for voting for Gina and me in the contest-thingie for the Kentucky Derby/Kentucky Oaks survivors' parade.....the winners were announced today and WE BOTH GET TO WALK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Oaks is Friday, May 6th, and it will be televised all over....the survivors' parade is supposed to bve around 5pm (EST), I think....
Thanks so very much for helping us get to do this....we walked our first survivors' lap together at the Relay for Life this past June....then we walked our first Komen walk together this past October. We participated in our first BC survivors' retreat together.....and although she walked in this parade last year, we'll be able to walk it together this year....and to think we MET here on BC.org, on this very thread. Amazing.
Have a great rest of the week everyone...
blessings....

Congrats Girls!
It's a great day!
-
Congrats Robin and Gina !
It is really good to see so much chatter on here. I go to see the oral surgeon on Monday to get his opinion on this jaw legion. I know, I know, it has been going on forever....but with the mystery infection and hospital stay, time just got away from me. Also, the company DH works for was just bought out, so now insurance changed April 1. Lucky me - I had hit my out of pocket max for the year thanks to my hospital stay. Now I get to start all over with the $$ .
Hugs Team January !

I am Still Celebrating 100 pages with My "Team January Friends" Here's to us! Hooray!
Thanks for the support & friendship! {{{hugs}} Gina
P.S. Thank you for your votes, Robin & Will be honor to wear Pink May 6th & walk for out " Team Jan 2010 " in the 137th Ky Oaks Survivor Parade!! XOXOXO

Happy 100 pages! WOW!
Congratulations Robin and Gina on making the walk. I was away with my kids in Cuba, so couldn't vote for you guys, but looks like you must have had sufficient votes.
Good luck tomorrow with the oral surgeon Sally. I hope you can get some answers.
I had a fabulous time with my kids in Cuba. It was so nice to be away with them and just enjoying the beautiful weather, the beach, the sand and oh those beatiful sunsets. They take my breath away!
Can someone tell me how you post a picture on here? I just can't seem to figure it out.
Take Care

Team January Trio, Today!!!
Gina, Debbie, Robin:
Galt House Hotel, Louisville KY
We had an hour to visit -- inbetween a baby shower that Gina attended, my participation in a National Family Literacy Conference & Robin's church events.
How many miles of conversation did we cover in 60 minutes?
There were laughs and hugs and squeezes and more hugs and more laughs and teasing and hilarity and more laughs and a little flashing (right there in the lobby) and yet more laughs.
Really made my entire spring!!!!!

One more trio.
This time we're upstairs in the exhibit hall.
These quilts are the illustrations I created for my book (front & center)
-
Debbie....you're amazing....you beat me to the draw!! I was going to post that we got to meet you yesterday....and here you've already posted PICTURES!!!! It was so much fun.....I could hardly get a word in edgewise...ha!!! That's why I have to do all my talking by writing....
Just kidding!!! It was a blast being together....just too bad the rest of you couldn't have been there, as well.
Sally, let us know what's going on with you, ok, girlie???
Glad to hear you're back from Cuba, Cathy.....we cruised by it a few years ago, but that's all closer I've been to there. Glad you had a great time
The saga never ends, I don't think....CT scan on the head today. argh. I'm sure all is well, but the headaches are so frequent and so much worse than normal, the doctor wanted to have a look. I think it's all stress (whaddyathink? BC, mom's surgery and she got MRSA and almost died, my son's goofiness in college and purposefully flunking out, broken ankle/torn ligaments/three casts/three months on crutches/four months of PT, job being eliminated, but now maybe being negotiated - IF other teachers are willing to take a paycut, etc, etc....stress, me?!?!! )
I finally went to the chiropractor last week....I was all out of whack from being on crutches for the three months and limping for four more months (probably longer!!)....hip doesn't hurt so badly, and she relieved some stress on my neck/head, too....going back this week.
But since I've been a migrainer since age 12, she wanted a look - since my BP was and has been somewhat elevated (again, I think it's stress), but also because long-term migrainers have a greater tendency for strokes. Great. If it's not one thing, it's another. I really WAS healthy until I hit 50. sigh......
But other than that, all is well
My oldest son doesnt' even know if he's being paid at his job...still sharing a checking acct with g'friend/fiance' (who has been at our house a total of three times since Christmas, despite our inviting her over at least 3-4x a week!!!!) sigh, again....
Life is good. God is good. He's carrying us through this storm, and promises He won't allow us to go through more than what He'll be able to go through with us.....
can't wait to hear more chatter from the rest of you (I miss FB right now...I'm fasting FB until Easter, and I have a sudden urge to get on it right now...guess that means I'd best open up my Bible and read, instead!!)
blessings, love, and prayers...robin

How wonderful you three could meet in person! What beautiful photos too! Thank you for sharing.
-
I am so jealous
I want to meet everyone also !
I saw the oral surgeon yesterday. He wants to do a CT next week. I will go Monday and have the CT and he feels that will give him a definite answer as to what this legion is. He thinks it will turn out to be a cyst or a type of mandible birth defect.
Robin - let us know how your CT goes.
Cathy, I am glad you had a wonderful trip. It does the mind and body good to get away and enjoy the beauty of our world.
Hugs Team January !
-
That is so neat that the three of you got to get together. Great photo! Maybe someday, we can make a Team January get together?
Sally good luck on Monday with your CT Scan. Hopefully you get some answers.
Have a great weekend everyone!
-
instead of a new car can i have a new boob?
-
I'm confused frosty....are you getting a new car? did I miss something?
Well, the CT scan was nothing but a big waste of money...showed there was NOTHING there. No wonder I can't think....
Seriously, although I haven't seen the results, my doctor's nurse called and said it was fine...so the headaches are just what I thought - combo of migraines, sinus, and stress. Guess the stress is more than I've had, so the pressure is more than ever. I spen the better half of a ladies' retreat today doing a head massage (on my own head) with my knuckles! Finally, with that and four different meds, I was able to be headache free for the first time in a week! It felt so good to feel so good
Let us know how your CT scan goes, Sally....will be praying.
You know, it would be so wonderful if we ALL could meet someday.....I know that Lynbob is only two hours from L'ville, SAlly is about three hours. NOT saying we'd have to meet here, of course....Goodness, maybe we'd just all taken an outwest trip and hang out with Frosty!!! <grin> Guess we could pick up a few in Arizona and Colorado on the way...hey!
Hmmmm, sounds like an expensive expedition, doesn't it, no matter what we'd do....maybe we can let the famous author do her traveling and everytime she is close to our homes, we'll just meet up with her and live vicariously *through* her....
Speaking of whom, if I'm not mistaken, is about to embark on her biggest adventure ever...but I won't steal her thunder....
blessings to all....robin
-
All packed.
Waiting for last load of laundry to dry to put in a pair of slacks.

Two army bases in Italy then a week from now. Then the mini-tour & my performances thru REGGIO (big professional bonus) and the second weekend to ourselves is in Florence..... then drive back to Z, return rental car and return to the great midwest. 24 hours to myself and then our OH-early childhood conference starts.

Everyone take care of themselves & each other.

robin-no-breast (tee hee!)
-
Thanks for the shout out Robin-I was beginning to think no one cared about my nipps! (enter sad face here)
I tell you what-I'll be glad to get these plastic nipple shields off on Monday...my 11 year old keeps bonking her head into them when she hugs me. lol
-
Ok girls...my first avatar. I got my hair cut and colored last night. This is me-how do I look?
-
Kim,
You look beautiful! You should be smiling!
-
Kim ! Nice to 'see' you. You look wonderful.
Ok, ladies, the drama in my household never seems to stop. My 14yr old DD gave herself a concussion in a soccer game yesterday. Now we are scheduling appointments and trying to get her all straightened out. We seem to go from one drama to the next, without missing a beat. This is the same DD who broke her ankle this time last year, in a soccer game. And who broke her finger in January, in a basketball game. I told her we are going to have to wrap her in bubble wrap if she is going to continue playing sports
No news on the CT yet. I don't know what it taking so long, but I plan to call again first thing Monday morning. A little nipple news...on the breast that I had the bad infection, the nipple has flattened some. It is no longer symetrical in appearance with the other, but it doesnt bother me enough that I will have it redone. Also, the infection pushed back my tattoo time. My PS wants me to wait until at least mid May to make sure all the breast tissue is healed from the infection. So it looks like I will get my tats at the start of summer.
Hugs Team January !
Debbie - if you will be in Columbus on May 14, my team will be walking in the Race. You are welcome to join us again .
