Does it matter what kind of foam I use in wrapping?

Suzanne, LE is both a physical and spiritual condition (at least IMHO). I have no idea if the oily-dog foam will be damaging to the physical aspects of your LE rountine, but wrapping is bad enough without being grossed out by the stupid foam. I vote for a new order -- and tell them why, and ask them if they'll let you return the stuff. They should have had an "oily dog warning" on it.

Suzy, maybe starting with world peace would be easier than trying to make something good out of LE!

When I read your post, though, it did occur to me that the "right" bra could, in fact create some LE boobs -- just buy one that's extra tight in the band and has narrow straps and underwires, and I betcha you'd have plenty of chest swelling, maybe even just where you want it. Lots cheaper than plastic surgery too.

As for the creeping undies, I have a friend who wears her husband's and swears they never creep on her. Of course the day she tripped in the mall and ended up in the ER she was, uh, mortified....

Toomuch--I didn't know your LE was acting up--I always find that an LE flare causes distress way out of proportion to the issue--and Binney does too, so we think it's biologic. And then I found that inflammatory "sickness" stuff in the medical care of the cancer patient, so maybe it's all due to cytokines....

I've got to say, in my darkest moments, Suzy can just crack me up with her amazing wit. And boy is that needed.

Right now, I have a patient with HUGE head and neck LE--he just started LE therapy, and they have him in a head and neck Jobst garment (which he learned the hard way not to try and eat with it on) and he keeps joking that they'll move the fluid down and create man-boobs. 

I'm so glad I sent him for therapy--he also got a swallow evaluation and the speech therapist was great. 

He was really suffering, and no one else on the team picked up on it--what's with that??? I think they didn't think there was treatment available.

Suzy, I started to use Lymphademaproducts because they'll have specials on shipping--I still use the same foam I got in 2008 for the rolled layer--my LE therapist says it's good forever. Kind of weird, but she knows what she's talking about. I did buy some Rosidal soft to replace it, but she doesn't think it needs replacing. Now the gray foam cut outs I replace when they get squashed.

Binney - Yes LE truly is both physical and spiritual. 

My therapist only used cut outs of grey foam - she didn't wrapped w comprifoam.  Seems to me the comprifoam would much be easier for self-wrapping.  It's pretty impossible to hold the cut outs in place while wrapping oneself.  Any thoughts or experience w this? 

(O my, head and neck LE - head compression . . .   Arm and trunk really is not so bad . . . )

Jumping a bit late on this discussion, but I was having trouble holding the foam in place in my arm, as mentioned by some of you.  I don't know if this is kosher or not, but I went to a yardage store and bought some Vel-cro strips, and attached one strip to each edge of the upper arm foam piece.  It helps keep it in place while I wrap the lower arm (no strips needed there, really).  You have to be careful not to rip the strip off when removing the foam -- just separate the Vel-cro strips.  Any comments on this?
