Rennaus- welcome!!! I had a pap but it was just pre-radiation and tami so...not sure yet. No symptoms.

Valgal- yeah. I am not an AI possibility yet. Mr der said it was not the tami as my levels were 5.41 in 2008 and so placque was building...I have brought it down and apparently one of he meds i am on can reduce placque as well so...hopeful. I am keeping an eye on clots etc....start my walking regime tomorrow.....9until them give me one they want me to do....i will walk until I can't)

Staying off week likely the entire week folks....I am proud as it will be a hard thing to do once Sue leaves tomorrow!....but I am not completely recharged....can't drive myself to the beach but a fgirlfriend is coming this weekend so I think I may book us a weekend by the beach and get us out of dodge!

Jules- i have had a porcelain crown on my front tooth since I was ten...my most recent crown was done in 1986 and it is still ticking and super strong.....might as well all the beauty adjustments done now hmm?

Bed time....starting to acually get tired!

I will catch up on the rest later:) night all

Rennaus-Welcome to our group.  I have had a hysterctomy so can't help with any of those questions.  I have had many SE's with tamox but all have worked themselves out except my insomnia and I have really bad hot flashes at night which adds to the insomnia.  If you want to know more about my SE's that I had in the beginning you can PM and I will be happy to share.  All the ladies here have heard it from me so don't want to go into it again.  But PM if you like.

Jules-I broke a front toothe 16 years ago in a bad auto accident.  I don't have a crown they rebuilt it similar to putting on a fake nail.  The first one did not hold up and broke after about 4 months so had it redone and no problems since.  The dentisit did a really good job and you cannot even tell.

Sandee I had my Cholesteral checked Friday and wouldn't you know that since I have lost weight and have started exercising my bad cholesteral went up and my good went down.  Go figure, but my ranges are still very good 2.4  I have always worried about this because my dad died at 49 of a heart attach (the dad I talk about on here is my step-dad, so I don't confuse you gals)  I have one brother who has been on cholesteral meds since he was in his early 30's and he is mr exercise nut and hard has a rock, very healthy so I know it runs in my family and I have to be aware.

Hope all you tami ladies have a good day.

    Good morning Ladies

talked with my FIL and they said it was a grade 3 which for prostate cancer is very good slow growing. They said he needs to talk to a surgeon and decide wether he wants to wait 4 months until he is off the coumadin or stop it now and do it. They said if he waited they would put him onLupron until surgery time. They also told him if he had it taken out he would have no furrther problems. He is just not surethat he wants to wait the 4 months... I dont blame him... thanks for all your thoughts about him

Have a great day... going shopping for a new ....pillow...Wink  a soft one

tink that is good news.  Now he just needs to decide.  I have a friend who had prostate cancer and they caught it early.  He had surgery and has been fine that was 10 years ago.

Tink- great news re. FIL!!!! and he has two excellent options....guess he needs to decide which one he can live with the easiert and which will bring him the fastest recovery time?

Sherry- great news re. your cholesterol level. 2.4 is perfect! yeah....doesn't seem to matter ..random stuff. My sister, who is about 80 pounds overweight and whose heart pounds out of control and eats when stressed, has perfect cholesterol. and is in perfect health! doesn't make sense to me but I am grateful tha she is not going through this as I suspect her recovery time woule be longer....then again, she says she would recover well as she would do EXACTLY what the drs tell her to do....how can I tell her that no one in the past 10 months has told me what to do other than to 'listen to my body and don't overdo it'? - which is exactly what I want to hear anyhow so...perfect...

Sherry - Tink doesn't need any encouragement when it comes to the next pillow fight.  Just don't let her get too close to the happy juice. I may have to make sure June shows up to protect me.  LOL

Hello Tammi girls.  I have an update on my achy breast the good news is the swelling has gone down just a bit from the Celebrex and the ice packs.  But I was having a horrible burning pain from my SNB site down into my breast along with deep stabbing pains yesterday so I called my BS and they worked me in this afternoon.  Basically she said this is not unusual but she would not consider it normal.  She is having me try a analgesic cream along with an older antidepressant that is suppose to work for pain.  If no relief then to a pain dr for a nerve block.  She said even if those things work she thinks they will only be temporary solutions and she wants me to consider having a MX, but right now I am too soon out of rads to do this.  Her wanting me to have a MX also has to do with my past benign breast disease that started all this 14 years ago and the fact that my follow up will require yearly MRI's which can be quite expensive.  So she felt like with everything together that a MX might be my best option.  I am not really upset by this, because I was worried about my risk of a new bc anyway and having to have so much follow up with the yearly MRI so I actually am kinda relieved.  Also the fact that she confirmed I was not being a whinny baby and this pain is real made me feel 100% better.  So we will go with the pain control for a few months and play it by ear. I was to see the PS in May because when I made the appt I was concerned about my left breast being smaller.  She wants me to reschedule for July.  She said right now I am still to swollen and the fact that we may be conisdering a MX instead she felt that the consultation would be kinda wasted and would be better in July when we will know for sure which way we are going to go. My pharmacist and I have a joke now that I will see him tomorrowLaughing

This sounds like such a silly question but has anyone ever taken their temperature when they have a hot flash?  The last couple of nights I have been running a low-grade fever (99.1-99.6) for a few hours (my body temp is typically on the low side) and I don't know if it is prolonged hot flashes or if something else is wrong.  I have been having pains in my arm/armpit on the side that they did the SNB and my breast has been swollen and hurts occasionally so my mind is thinking all kinds of crazy things.

OH I also wanted to say thanks to all my girlfriends here that have been listening to me whine and complain about my pain.  You all have been so supportive.  Even though it was not all Tammi related you let me vent anyway.  Love you girls!!!!!!!!!!

Sherryc: Is this the first time your PS has suggested an MX to you? I hear of so many ladies having lumpectomies only to end up with MX. (I had BMX).

JSandstrom... Low-grade fever, pain an swollen breast could be a sign of infection. Any redness? I would call your doctor just to be safe.

Sherry - So glad you are finally getting some answers and being given some options.  I never thought you were a whinny baby.  The pains were real and of concern to you.  With the burning sensation I had for over 2 months, my BS and I never could find the source and I was offered the opportunity to see a pain doctor for a possible nerve block.  I turned him down with the option of asking for the referral at a later date.  I am 20 days pain free - had a bit of a twinge today but nothing to write home about.  It is always good when we can get someone to really listen to what we have to say and act on it.

Sherry, I know you would have researched everything with regard to the breast pain. I talked to my P/T and asked if anyone considers having a BX when they are having problems after lumpectomy/rads. She said yes. However, having a BX comes with their own set of problems.  Just wanted to share my thoughts. Hugs xxxxxx

June, heading in to see dentist tomorrow.  Thank goodness it's raining here and everyone is dodging the rain and not paying attention to people who have chipped teeth. LOL

Tink, sending as many hugs as you and your family can take.

    Sleep well ladies zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Thanks everyone for the support.  I actually had been thinking that I might want to pursue a MX so I was kind of relieved that she brought it up and what she said supported everything that I had already read about my situation.  My chances of recurrence from this current cancer is pretty low, but my risk of getting a new bc after I am off Tamox is pretty high.  Because of that is why I would have to do yearly mammo's and MRI's alternating every six months for life and the more I thought about it I just did not want to be a ticking time bomb and constantly reminded of bc.  PLus add in the expense of all the diagnostic testing and the medical bills would never end.  So she was thinking along the same lines I was so I feel good about it.  My DH is supportive so for now I'll deal with the pain and we will take it one step at a time.

ON a positive note with tamox I slept better last night, but it probably had more to do with the fact I woke up at 12:30 in pain so took a pain pill and crashed.  But I will think positivly that the pain is what woke me up not the tamox.Smile

Glad you ladies are good sports and let me have all kinds of fun on here.  I love posting the food/drink pictures.  It sometimes is the highlight of my day.

June/Sherry/Alicia/Jules and anyone else who wants to join in.  You are all invited to the slumber party/pillow fight this weekend.  It may turn out to be an all weekend event.  It really depends on Tink.  We may have to gang up on her - hehehe.  You never know what she is up to.

Alicia - Congrats on one year on Tamox - and the countdown continues.
