Lago... yes, I fear you are right... I will get all that unwanted hair back too... but a girl can hope... I think that we ladies are due some golden nugget at the end of this journey... Wouldn't be great if at the end of chemo we got long fast growing locks in the color of our choice, no leg, pit or bikini hair and a well groomed brazilian... oh and youthful skin and strong sex drive... oh well... here's hoping.

Your DH might not be as happy to hear about the full brazilian going away. Might have to be the present you give him for being such a great husband.

Lots of discussion about the hair regrowth today! .... my mother said she never got much regrowth in the pits after chemo 18 years ago, but I guess I missed out on that gene.... seems like the legs and armpits came back more than ever, coarse and dark... that was one blessing during chemo when I didn't have the energy to shave I didn't have the hair.  I am on wig #2, first one was longer, a little more blond, got tired of it as I usually do this time of year - needed a "new do" and got a short sassy auburn/red style.  Everyone gave rave reviews!  But I am planning an even SHORTER "cut" in another month if I continue to grow, will be back to my natural color which I have not seen in over 30 years, and VERY short as I plan to ditch the wigs for spring/summer hot weather.  Just looking for ways to keep folks on their toes around here! Cool

Saw my MO today, was happy to report to her that the nail pain is FINALLY getting better,  and my BRAIN is finally working again since I ditched all meds except vitamins and ambien, but unhappy to report the neuropathy in fingers and teeth not greatly improved. We had another discussion about tamoxifen, and I have agreed to begin again at a very low dose when I start feeling much better, i.e. able to be up and active more than 10-12 hours without a nap after 6 hours up, and got to have some improvement in the hot flashes.  They have been leaving me nearly passing out, and she said "yes, some people get debilitating hot flashes." DEBILITATING just doesn't even BEGIN to describe it!!!  Yell

I am so grateful to all you ladies who have shared your experiences with me and encouraged me, and now I am happy to support and encourage others who are just beginning the SE battle.  Some days are not so bad now, some days are even good, and I actually am even optimistic that things will continue to improve (dour Scotsman that I am!).  Blessings and peace to you all today.

The hot flashes suck big time!!  And chemo brain??  ....... It's hitting full force now - I put something in the oven and that's it, completely gone from my memory until I am wondering what the awful smell is Undecided

Hopefully you won't see me posting that I have managed to burn my house down!

tracie23 I think you will have to wait a few more years to get the gray down there and it happens very slowly starting mid 40's. I don't have that many and didn't get any new ones… now on my head I got more grey.

I am 9 weeks out from last docetaxel and my hot flashes are still going strong, my sex drive however is not :((. And sex is painful too:((. Hope this improves soon.

Slainte if sex is painful talk to your onc about it. If s/he dismisses it then talk to your gyno about it. If sex is painful it makes sense your libido would go into hiding. I've had the pain and now it's resolved.

What is everyone doing about the hot flashes?? I get at least 2 or 3 a day. And my legs have finally stopped feeling like I ran a marathon. Literally stopped last week.

    Hang in there ladies...

My hot flashes have calmed down I get a few a day but they are not super intense like they were.

Fighter how long since your last chemo? My legs still hurt so bad.

My flash aren't too bad and when I do get them it's mostly between 2-6am. I think I sleep through a lot of them. Certain foods trigger it too but I don't get that hot. Never sweaty.

You might consider getting a fan by your bed.

A personal hand held fan for your purse might come in handy:

The legs will stop hurting. I'm now 95% there. 10 weeks from last chemo AND 29 days on Anastrozole (generic Arimidex) and still getting better. I started to notice it about week 5 post chemo. Then it keeps getting better every week.

Thanks gurls for the cheer  :)))   We all have to kick ourselves so hard in the ....

Have looked at the directions on a Rogaine box before bying and it warned to no use in case of bald spots..... I'm so terrified of any type of drug now.  Will definitely get the high dose biotine and keep searching 'til the cows come home.

Have posted earlier that I'm thinking of having the unwelcome visitors on my face transplanted on my scalp   Yell

MGB I'm having no issue with the women's rogaine (generic walgreens). I had used it before but stopped on chemo started again when chemo stopped. I only use it once a day although the directions say 2x a day. It works a little too good if I use it more than once a day.
