♥
-
We're (hopefully!) finally able to get our washer/dryer this pay cheque coming up!! Woo hoo!! We haven't had one since we moved in October. Such a treat!!!!
-
Hi Ladies I am doing swell. We got a new washer front load Maytag it was on sale also 60 dollars of energy efficient and than 60 dollars off electric company. We get it on Thursday.
-
Barbe-that is a loooooong time! Praise the Lord that you and Lynniea both get new washers!!!!!
-
I was not going to go to laundry mat every weekend and spoil my fun
-
Good Morning Grace and Lynniea. Hope you both had a nice weeked.
-
I had a great weekend and you. My hair is falling out fast. Gearing up for next chemo appt on Wednesday number 2. At least No snow in the weather
-
Remember Lynniea it does grow back after treatment.Get some preety hats and scarves for the spring season.(((Hugs))I found wigs are way too hot.
-
I wore a wig to work, but as soon as I got home, it came off and the scarves went on.
-
Amazing what you take for granted when you have it (washer/dryer) and REALLY, really miss when you don't!! I think there's a song like that...."You don't know what you miss till it's gone..."
We're getting a front load too. I sell the bloody things!!! Now I'm finally going to have one!!
-
I have had one for 5 years now, and I love it. I have the pedestals so I don't have to bend over so much.
-
My hair is falling out fast what should I do? Does any salon do what we need to do?
-
lynniea - My hubby shaved it and then I wore a cap until it was out. No mess on the pillows or floor or in sink! It does grow back! Mine is CURLY and I am having to get used to doing it. Everyone assures me that it will go straight eventually, but it has been fun to have since September.
Meece - we are travelling and were in NJ this weekend. Today we are in CT. Maine by the weekend and then Mass by next Wed. Then home and another treatment. I was BAD sick after the last one and my chemo nurse neighbor came over and thought maybe I should go to hospital, but I am way more stubborn. Lots of smart water and 3 days later I was doing much better. Praying for Matt and you all!!!

Where in connecticut
-
What is smart water? Have I been drinking dumb water all these years?
-
Thank you so much for that Meece. That was my mom's favourite song. she passed away 21 years ago. It is so beautiful and when I hear that song it makes me feel so good and I can always see her beautiful face. Thanks Lois
-
Dear Lynniea, I did have my hair stylist shave my head and then she fitted me with a wig, but I acutally loved my hats and scarves. You will look beautiful in whatever you decide to wear and your hair will come back more lucious than ever!!!!!! God bless you, Kathy
-
Thanks I not losing it. It is just driving me crazy It is everywhere
-
lynniea, my hair gal gave me a buzz cut because apparently you have to have a special permit to do straight razor shaves in Oregon. after about a week, I couldn't stand it so my DD took it down to bare skin with shaving cream & a Venus razor--she did great! Grew back curly & stayed curly for about 7 months, then ~poof~ the curls disappeared!
-
Lynniea, like many others, I had my DH buzz it down pretty short. I wasted my money on a wig, I hated it and did not wear it but one time. I had scarves and head covers that I loved and wore those. Mine also came back curley for awhile and then went back to its regular self. I've decided not to color it again and just be an old gray lady. I'm really good with that.
Yeah, what is smart water?
-
Thanks ladies I will take all these into concideration. That's why I love this place a whole lot of ladies going through the same things at different periods of our life.
-
Smart water is nutrient enhanced distilled water. Good for you when you aren't feeling well.
I cut my hair shoulder length as soon as I started noticing it going. Within a few more days it was mostly gone so I buzzed it myself. That's what's good about having boy that you cut their hair. I had a friend shave it a couple of months later, then felt comfortable enough to do it myself.
Matt turned 24 on Saturday. I Thank our Heavenly Father that he made it to another birthday and pray for many more.
-
just buzzing by to let you ladies know im still reading all the posts. been off for a few days, stomach flu. this is where i started on BCO; and always come back to.
im afraid im having trouble with the hair thing still. it came back Way thinning in the front.the one place i can't find peices for, cause im a (bottle ) redhead. DH would rather i stay thinning, than go darker.. its been over a year, but i take ALOT of things to knock the estrogen down. so, im groewing the baack to go in a ponytail, and wearing a scarf to hide the front.. ahh, time takes care of a lot of things, and at my age, thinning may have happened anyway! 3jays
-
Meece-prayers for Matt for many more birthdays and a hedge of protection around him!
3jaysMom-Sure hope that you are feeling better. You sure have been through alot, prayers are coming your way!!
Lynniea: By this time next year, this challenging journey will be over and your hair will be curly. Please know that you are lifted up prayer daily. God bless you all, Kathy
-
I surrender all to thee. I just watched it on utube I need to do that now having an emotional day about hair falling out.
-
lynniea....It was a very emotional night when i decided to cut my own hair which was falling out anyway.
I took a scissor after the DD went to sleep and stood by the sink and cut it.
My scalp felt so much better it was all itchy before and i was trying so hard to keep my hair by not even brushing it.
I send you hugs.
Before you know it your hair will grow again.
♥

Haven't been here in a while. Just hanging on and trying to keep focused on my 5 day a week radiation schedule. Today is treatment number 22 of 25 regular then I will be doing 8 boosts.
I read all the posts as they are sent to my email and I pray for all of you.
My hair is in pretty good but so short if I go without anything I will have to use gel and spike it as it wants to hug tight to my head. It is silver and kind of wavy a bit.
My d-i-l surprised us with an offer to have a party for us for our 40th wedding anniversary on April 17th. We told her yes. I think it is going to be a pot luck dinner and party at our church's fellowship hall that day. I don't know many of the details yet. Wish our daughter from Maine could be here with her partner and 3 kids but they can't afford to come and I can't afford to pay their way. *Sigh* We've never seen Baby Joshua who is 7 months old.
My breast is sore, hurts from time to time and the skin is tight so I use 2 different lotions he told me to use and I use them alternately, 4 time a day.
Have a wonderful, Blessed day everyone.
Hugs,
Juanita

So good to see you, Juanita. Congratulations on 40 years! What an accomplishment. Only 11 more rads and you are done. Such a good thing to look forward to.
