June, I am so sorry that you have to feel like your MO is blowing you off. I just had the same experience with my ONC. Want to poke him in the eye ball. Well that's tha polite way of what i want to do.
Did you have chemo? My ONC did say the joint pain I was feeling was from the chemo. He never said why, just that it did. I'm curious to hear from you on the chemo.
My ONC is great at what he does, ie poisoning me to keep me alive. But when it comes to other issues, ie. lymphedema, joint pain, anything he just plays it down.
June big hugs sweetie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I just had the same experience with a cardiologist this week....felt like she was not listening..then realized, when she produced a letter saying I canno fly for 8 weeks for me to produce to the airline, that she had been. Aparently she is the head of the cardiology and the one the nurses and the pharmacist would want...I was just feeling very fragile and wanting to hear 'yes, you can return to exercize when you feel able" instead of "5 minutes a day and work your way up..you should be back at your regular speed in 3 months...WTH? I was back at the gym within two weeks of breast cancer....didn't hear what I wanted to hear....threw me off....but normally I prefer ;shoot from the hip' dr's as long as they are not arrogant jerks so I expect all will be fine...not all experts in their field have the social charms that the less intellectual have learned....that is how I am going to look at it. (today anyhow...remember the 24 hour rule!)

Tink ~ (((HUGS))) so sorry about your FIL but like the other girls who have had to deal with it, hopefully your FIL will prevail !!! So many of you had to deal with prostate cancer I am sorry.
I am going to miss the party tonight. So tired. Praying for some sleep may pop me an ambien. Running since 6 am and still waiting to get my daughter from work. The lacrosse field was a windy 38 degrees. brrrrrrr ~ I need my bed hopefully soon.
Hugs my friends.

Jules I had no chemo just radiation so not sure if it is the pill or just old age......I hope to god it is not old age, going on 46 this year....I just want a MO who listen to my concerns and talk me through them. Yes, I may blame this darn pill for a lot, but I was never sick prior to any of this........well I have a history of Kidney stones, but heck I got through all that.....anyway, thanks for being a sounding board....all you ladies are terrific!
Now time for that pillow fight......anyone up?
-
Tink - So sorry to hear about your FIL - you will have to keep us posted.
I brought the pillows - where is everybody?
-
Here are some appitizers.
Now toss me one of those pillows please.
-
Red or White wine with those appetizers? Here's a pillow for you Chabba.
-
I'm here, I'm here!! can't eat the appetizers, given the week and all but the red wine is supposed to be good for your heart so yes please!!! Pillows are armed....but I mighy fall asleep soon so let's get this party rolling!
June...yeah....it is SOooooo important to be heard..this is your health! Your life. You need the information they have so readily at their disposal...as I said to a pal last night...it can become easy to forget, when people ask you the same questions over and over again, that these are new people...and they don't know the answer adn they are scared....I think we should make some cards up at this party tonight that say just that..."I am ew to this information and I am scared. please take a few minutes to look me in the eye and give me some time to ask my questions"....that might shake them up!..
-
Sandee - I am kinda pooped too so don't know how long I will hang in there. My onc increased my dose of Lyrica and I did not get a full night's sleep last night. I take the Lyrica for my neuropathy caused by Tammi and one of the side effects is drowsiness. That is okay since I suffer from insomnia. I hope to sleep really well tonight.
Whack! I just smacked you with a pillow - now I am going after June.
-
Waitin in my pillow!
-
LMAO Jo....and I am running and I am pretty good at hiding....bring it on girl!
Tink honey we all miss you....sorry you have more on your plate, stay strong and hugs my friend!
-
June - You can run but you can't hide. I'm coming to get you.
-
All right ladies....thinking this is going to be an early night for me too..though I appreciate the thought! Maybe tomorrow when we have all had some rest.
oh and pharmacist told me that there is no proof that taking a higher dose os zopliclone than 5mg is any more effective...i said that 10 knoclked me out cold. and she said ///the 5 probably would have too...interesting! so tonight..back to 5!
Smush...just landed on you with the pillow Dawney. Jo, one quick whack with the other pillow and you should head out to bed my dear!
Night all!
-
Sandee - You are right. I just took my Lyrica for the neuropathy but it acts like a sleeping pill. Gonna find my real pillow and put my tired head on it.
Sorry June - Maybe we can do this more tomorrow night. Stop working so darn hard and join us. Maybe we can start earlier?
Night Ladies
-
Still looking for me huh Jo???
Chabba damn, you are as good with the food selection like JO......YUMMY!
-
June - You are not that sneaky. Whack! Right on the back of your head. It is a feather pillow so it was a soft whack!
-
charmaine - thanks for the link for drugs.com

Tink so sorry about your FIL. It just seems to pour on us sometimes. I know you will be of great support to him.
Hey everyone, I just got in. Forgot tonight was Relay For Life so I took my Mom and we went. It was nice, But I had to get up and say my name and what cancer and how long I have been cancer free. I hate getting in front of people with a microphone. yuk.
You girls have been busy with the pillow fight. Watch out I am here!!!!!!!!!!
My RO was at the Relay for Life tonight and I went and spoke to him and he appoligized again for being short with me on the phone a couple of weeks ago. I guess he really did feel bad. Also I forgot that my MO told me this morning I could try ice on my achy breast. My RO tonight asked how I have been since finishing rads and I told him about the achey breast and he also suggested ice so I will do that tonight. Since I can not take ibuprophen or Aleave he said that Celebrex might help. I told him my husband has some for his bursitis so he said try it and if I do not have an allergic reaction and it works to call him on Monday and he will call me a script in. I like consultation I do not have to pay for. Does not happen every often.
-
Thanks ladies I will keep you posted he goes Wed to see what all the options are gor him

I took Tamox for about 15 months after my first diagnosis of DCIS (stopped when I had my ovaries removed). I had zero side effects, felt fine. I'm super-sensitive to meds of any sort, so I expected to get every side effect, but I could have stayed on Tamox forever - I felt fine.
-
FOGCITYITE...That is wonderful to hear. about not having side effects!
SWANSEAGIRL...UMMM that may have been me it was dark and ever
yone was sleeping so I was flinging that pillow all over the place.... sorry to hear about DH losing his job, hoping something comes up very soon!
-
Fogcityite I want to be like you when I grow up and not have SE's from tamoxifen.
Jules sorry to hear your DH lost is job. Just what you need more stress.
I went to the Farmers Market and got several fresh organic veges this morning. They always taste so good when they are fresh. DH is out of town working on a spiritual retreat so I am going to dinner with a good friend and will join the party late when I get back. Hope you gals are still around so I can join you. DH has his Celebrex with him but after dinner there is a surprise thing we do on this retreat so my friend and I are going to participate so I'll get his Celebrex tonight and try it. Hope it works on this achy boob. I tried the ice last night and it did help. Just got through cleaning house so gonna give it another try since I probably aggravated it.
-
