Tamoxifen & Breathing/Throat Problems?

Options

Okay, I've been through enough crap, I sure don't need this..  Not sure if this is/could be related to the tamoxifen. I take 20mg daily, since end of Jan. I have this shortness of breath, feels like I am breathing in smoke (no smokers), and when I breath in, my throat seems to hurt me. Anyone have any breathing/throat problems?  Would love to hear from you.

    Hi Sharalou

Have you talked to your doctor. I had problems breathing after 3 years after chemo I am now on Femera. But after 10 days of breathing problems had an Xray and found out I was in conjestive heart failure( who would have thought at 44 yrs old). My suggestion go get an Xray because I thought my breating problems were a cold or bronchitis. How wrong I was.

I started to cough a lot - especially at night. Besides that, I didn't have breathing probs. Good move though asking the ladies here for some input.  (after 11 mos I quit tamoxifen though - horrendous bone pain).

Hello Sharalou! It's so odd you describe that feeling of breathing in smoke! I've had it too. I've been taking 20 mg tamoxifen since finishing RT, about three years ago. I know correlation is not causation, but during this same time frame, I've suffered very bad shortness of breath. One doctor says I have chronic asthma, another is not sure of cause. I read on Mayo clinic site that one of the side effects of tamoxifen is shortness of breath, but I don't know what the remedy might be.
