Chest heaviness side effect of radiation?

Options

I have recently completed radiation to my chest wall, etc. after having a mascectomy.  I have a heaviness in my chest.  Much like at the end of pregnancy, when you feel you can't get a full breath in.  I am NOT out of breath.  I can exercise without a problem.  I am worried that this is due to the radiation and want to know if anyone else has had this side effect.  I had radiation on my heart side.  I am considering going and taking one of my prendisones to see if it helps.  It almost feels like an allergy type of thing as well.  I feel mildy "conjested" but with no cough. This seemed to happen after my boost week.  Not before.  Thanks.

Kathleen, have you reported it to your rad onc?  It doesn't sound particularly alarming to me, but I think you should definitely report it to your rad onc, who can probably ease your mind about it.   Deanna

Kathleen - my rad onc asked if I was having these symptoms and a whole list of others - every week I was getting rads... I agree with Dlb823 - call your rad onc.
