Wow - what a week!

Hi all-
I don't come here too often, but do check in from time to time.
On Tuesday, my sweet stepsis emailed me to call her, it was important. I did, and she said goodbye. She's been Stage IV for a good 8 years (not triple neg), and her liver was failing from metastasis, and she just wanted me to hear it from her and know that she was okay. She wouldn't live out this week.
The following morning I had to get into The Tube for a PET/CT. I did that, and was told I would hear in about 2 days. On Thursday, I came home to a message on the answering machine from my primary doc saying my test was just fine. I was so happy.
Today, Friday, I checked in with the doc who ordered the test, and they didn't have the PET/CT results yet. Ouch. So what the primary was so positive about was probably something else, maybe my PAP smear from January?
So I am waiting to hear of a death and waiting to hear if I will live. This weekend will be long.

Thanks so much!
I hardly come over here, but no one can hear what we have to say sometimes.
I heard from my sweet stepsis today and she has rallied and wants to keep keeping on. I have never known anyone stronger than her. She was not supposed to last out the week and now will endure another MRI on Tuesday if she can make the appointment. I told her last week that she is my Hero, and she is.

Glad to hear your stepsis is doing better. Sorry you don't have your scan results yet. The waiting is sooo hard to do.
Praying for you & stepsis. NJ

:arge exhale. My scans are in and they look good; no sign of cancer whatsoever. One potential crisis down, and one to go.

I'm glad your stepsis is doing better. Also, I'm so relieved that your scans look good.

Congrats on the good scan report! NJ

Thank you all.
My stepsis got bored with dying and started chemo again last Monday. This is her fifth time around that block but she just decided not to give up after her brother (that shit) called everyone he could think of including her former husband of decades back, and told them she inherited their mom's money and was dying and was thinking to give some to anyone who called her. Her phone rang off the hook for days. The word "tool" comes to mind when I think of my incredibly cruel stepbrother. People like that make me hope they will suffer more than the suffering they cause. I don't think that is the way I was raised, but hurting people who are ill is something only the worst people do.
