I have no clue what else to name this, but it's not working and I'm not sure if this issue has to do with my personal settings or the actual board.  When I go to "My Favorite Topics", it tells me when there are new posts.  Up until yesterday, when I clicked on one of those topics, it would automatically scroll down to the first new post I hadn't read.  It's not doing that for me now and it's irritating me because I have no clue why it suddenly stopped.  Anyone have suggestions?  Anyone else having this issue?  Is it a problem with the board?  I cleared out my cookies and cache just in case that was causing a problem, but it's still not working.

Yes, I'm having the same issue -- not just on "Favorites" but on any thread I've previously visited.  I always used to be brought to the newest unread post, if I was logged in.  Now it's just the top of the page with the newest unread post, and I have to scroll down myself.

Anytime they make changes to code there can be something buggy going one. I'm sure they'll work this one out too.

I was just about to post this very same thing......not only am I not getting to the last post on a page - but sometimes not even the last page.

It is intensely annoying, as previously everything worked so seamlessly. Let's hope 'they' can fix this soon!

I noticed this last night.  If you look above Sheila's first post, you'll see the post numbers are missing.  It says Post # - # (8 total).  After I post this it will say Post # - # (9 total).  and so on

It seems the post numbering system is broken so when you log in, it doesn't 'remember' where you left off because there's no way for it to mark the spot.

This just shows why Test Driven Development is the only way to develop code. This has taken one of the most useful features of this site, and ruined it. This is really hard for those of us who depend on this site for information and support.

Wow, yes the post numbers are off.. way off.  One of my favorite threads has hundreds of posts, and it's listing it at 7 total now!  I hate not knowing what I last viewed!  Chemo brain doesn't let me remember everything, and this is one board that made it easy for me.

The post numbering starts anew with each page.

Right now, we're at 11 posts on page one (it will go up to 12 after I submit this post).  Most of the threads I've visited have 30 posts to a page, but the next new post isn't #31, it's #1 on page two.

It remembers which page I was on, that helps, but not which post I had gotten to, on that page.

The system doesn't even seem to be keeping track of what page I've viewed now.  Very frustrating.  Please Mods... fix this.  I'm not sure how many people are having this issue.

Sorry to complaint again I even have a bigger problem.

It's opening on the previous page. (Some Threads not all)

    Please Moderators do something.

    It's getting confusing.

    Thanks

I can't deal with this. It has destroyed the board for me. I know it seems minor, but to me it's a big deal, especially when reading a busy topic.

Goodbye and best wishes BCO. You were great for a while!

It's working in Google Chrome. I was delighted to be directed staight to where I left off in those long threads.  Big sigh of relief.  Well done and many thanks.

It's good with Firefox on a Mac now, too.  Thank you so much, Mods and tech people!

It's definitely better than it was.  Is anyone else noticing that it's off by one?  I was just visiting my favorite thread, and it took me to a post I read last time I was here.

It does appear to be off maybe by one.  Strange... but hey, I ain't complainin'!

I much prefer not to complain too, but in view of the fact that bco is paying precious dollars to programmers to make things better, I think things actually should be better after they do their work.  Before they started their changes, it was just the longer threads that had the navigation problem.  And I've just notice another problem in my favorite long thread.  I just added a post that is probably at the end of a page.  What the script *should* do is take me directly to the post that I just added, which I appreciate because I like to look for typos I might need to clean up.  That didn't happen.  I was taken to the top of the next page, which has no new posts, PLUS there's no page number navigators for me to even click on the previous page.

I'm just sayin', the programmers should leave us with something that is genuinely better than before, not just another version of broken.  The 'off by one' quirk seems to be happening in every thread I revisit, long or short.  ...and I can live with that if that's all it ever does.  If it's a problem that degenerates over time, well, I just hope there's a really good backup system for the forum.
