I had my 2nd opinion appt yesterday and they had a different recommendation for my chemo. My Dr. recommended  4 tx A/C every 3 weeks, 4 tx Taxotere every3 weeks.  2nd opinion is recommending a simalar treatment 4 tx A/C every 2 wek, 4 tx Taxol weekly.  They say this cancer is agressive and they would like to treat it as such. Is Dose Dense chemo common for IBC?  I also have Triple Neg cancer as well.

I was treated aggressively with TAC (taxotere, adriamyacin & cytoxin) every 3 weeks at the same time.  I know some onc's  separate some of the chemos.

I had the DD also, same I think as Bonnie. Mine was separated in two rounds of it. I would ask for Emend if you have insurance coverage (it is expensive) before you even begin treatment. It totally took care of my nausea, prevented it from even starting. I just wish I had come and read about it on here before I already had two treatments. GREAT stuff, as is the Megace I took to stimulate my appetite later on. Hope all goes well with your treatments Barb.

I too had DD A/C every two weeks.  Taxol for 8 weeks & then Taxotere for 3 1/2.  Personally, I wouldn't recommend Taxotere, it was the worst by far.  DD is common for IBC & I too am triple-negative.

Do you know what stage your are?  Do you have positive nodes or anywhere else?  Just wondering.

Sending lots of love, support & prayers. IBC sister, NJ

    Hi Norma June,

I was wondering if you would please tell me why you think Taxotere is the worst.  My sister is on Taxotere + Carboplatin.

I have noticed that I've not seen very many people on this combo, and especially not the Carboplatin.  Definitely don't know very much about chemo drugs... any info you can give me would be greatly appreciated.  Now, I'm off to find out what 'dose dense' means!

    With prayers,

    Marianne
