Congrats Lisa!!!!   Ok, so many have mentioned having a mold made for rads, what is that for? I didn't have one made, I just lay on the table and the techs line me up.just was curious the reason for the body mold.

    Hope everyone is doing well,

yuck.. woke up to having cramps in my feet... and the left one still hurts!!

someone asked me last night how i was doing. my response "i'm f***ing tired, that's how i'm doing" lol..... i'm so ready to be done with this chemo crap! i think the drugs are all built up in my system and are starting to wreak havoc!

only 2 more to go.... only 2 more to go......

Hang in there Angel!!! Only 2 more to go here too!!!

Do they have intergrative medicine at your cancer place?? I have had them come 2x now and the last time she massaged my feet and that has helped a little with the pain in my feet. I am going to have her do my hands, feet and back next time!! I don't promise it will help but it might!!

I had bw on thurs and my rc are down to a 9. I am pretty sure after this chemo they are going to be an 8 or lower and I will get another transfusion. The taxol just seems to wipe out my rbc. I was at an 11 before this past chemo(cuz I had the transfusion) and it knocked me down to a 9!!! Ouchie!!

Anyone else's port bugging them?? Mine seems very sore lately. No idea why. It looks fine it just hurts.

mine bugs me after i sleep on that side, i will get sore and it feels like it tugs a bit.

when i have my bloodwork, they always say the rbc's are fine, but i'm starting to wonder if they took a kick in the bucket this week. the fatigue is overwhelming.

a foot massage sounds soooo gooooood!!! the cancer center has a massage therapist, by appt and at discounted rates for patients. i think i may look into it. that's the one thing that sounds really good!

anyone else having weird sensations in their teeth???? it's probably nerve irritation from taxol, but it's a new se. i just get this weird super sensitive sensation across my top teeth, and sometimes my bottom

oh the woes of taxol..... lol..... almost there though! it's always darkest before the dawn!!!

Hi Karebear and Angel, just stopping by to see how things are.

I am relating to the sore port, especially if I lay/sleep on that side funny, or maybe overexert myself lifting things like hevy groceries?

After my taxotere on thursday I unexpectedly got very sick to my stomach. I never have had that happen before. I have been super tired this time around and achy. I'm a little sad now I am at the back of the line of all of you, but happy for everyone that they are almost done! I can also see the light at the end of the tunnel! I still have 7 weeks to go. I have had teeth sensitivity too.

I think I am gaining weight-- I am as hungry as a horse!!! It must be the steroids. today at least I had lots of fresh fruit in the house and ate lots of it. A whole cantelope had my name on it! :-O! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! Cathy

i think i am gaining weight too!! the day of and after i eat everything in the house!! ok ok, well it seems that way! lol!! i'm glad i'm not the only one with the teeth sensitivity going on.

i didn't seem to have these issues till this last taxol (6 of 8), then it seems like BAM! all the aches, pains, hypersensitivity and fatigue hit all at once!!

thinking of all my sistas tonight!

I also have super senstive teeth, and can't eat fruit right from the fridge and have to wait for it to be at room temperature.

My itcjy hands are still at it, and my feet are starting too, especially in my arches.  I have my last chemo on Monday and was told the itching will intensitfy.  Not looking forward to that.  I felt really fatigued for the first time the last couple of days.  I am trying to strip all the wall paper off my younger daughter's bedroom walls and its a great project for when I am so "high" on the steriods.  On the other days, I am trying to take all the pictures from my husband's family that he has as both his parents passed away a couple of years ago, and take them out of the old sticky flypaper alblums and archive them, especially the old black and whites.  What alot of work but keeps my mind busy.  My doctor said for me, because I am triple negative, after radiation, its basically wait and see if any symptoms pop up over the next couple of years.  I'm not really a wait and see kind of person so this is quite hard for me.

Sammolisa, the benefit they are holding for you sounds amazing.  I honestly wish I could be there with you.

    Thinking of everyone today.

Rachel, I am also TN and I know what you mean about the waiting....I have had 6 rads so far, and although I can't wait for the other 29 to be done, I realize that's it, no pill or any other therapy after that. But I am being positive and just know the chemo got all those TN cells and they are history!!

Here to cheer you all to the finsih line with chemo, as you all helped me sooooooo much through mine.

Hi all--today's my 7th weekly Taxol out of 12.   Mark me present with the sensitive teeth.  It felt like the beginnings of when you need a root canal! Ugh.  Lots of hot flashes this weekend.  And sensitive finger nails.  I tell my husband George that the torturers have pulled out their pliers again.

But I am encouraged by all who are finishing chemo with the idea that a completion is in sight down the road.  I have my first appt with the rad onc on Wednesday morning.

Here's wishing everyone a good week.

Hi everyone... just checking in.  Just finished Taxol #2, only two left, I will be done in 3.5 weeks!  Feels like the end is in sight.  The bone pain is getting to me today, but it's better than the first time, I'm taking a higher dosage of ibuprofen that my onc approved, so I'm getting some relief.

My treadmill broke down completely yesterday, and I do find that walking every morning helps with the side effects, so I try to do it.... oh well, small problem, I was able to find an inexpensive used replacement, now just have to figure out how to get it home and in the house!

i slept and slept and slept today. apparently i was catching up from all the sleep i haven't been getting. woke up at 11 am, to just fall asleep on the couch at 2 and wake back up around 6:30. now it's time to get all the laundry done before tomorrow!! i like to have everything tip top shape and clean on chemo day so i can just rest or do whatever i feel like doing (laundry and dishes are not included in that! lol)

    have a great night ladies!!!

I have been so tired today! This was the first morning I woke up and if I rolled over the room would spin. Anyone else have dizziness? I called my husband and told him I didn't feel like getting out of bed, but I finally did around noon. I napped late afternoon between four and six...and I have been up since, but I am yawning as I type! Add hot flashes to that too! The other annoying think I have had is a twitching eyelid! Can anyone top me? LOL Joking of course!

Karebear, I am glad you got to go to the look good feel good! I just loved the makeup they gave me. I never buy expensive makeup, so it is a treat to have things from Channel, etc. Actually I have really been using the tips they gave me. Sadly my eyebrows seem barely there and I color them in everyday. I also use eyeliner... where did my lashes go-I still have a few but not much! Strangely, the hair on my head seems to be growing?

Angel did you kick dh's butt in horseshoes?  :-)

Dizziness?  check. Sore fingers? check.  Hot flashes? check.  Sensitive teeth?  check.  Twitching eyelid. Yes!!

I also had the problem where I was so tired/dizzy I couldn't get out of bed for a day.  It only happened once and I still don't know what it really was.

Taxol 7 of 12 tomorrow.  End of chemo is in sight.  Not looking forward to surgery.

    To add to the fun:

    - they finally decided my sore ribs are just "sprained"  so I still have very sore ribs

    - my two year old fell and broke her collar bone on Friday (so imagine how fun it is to pick her up in ackward ways with sore ribs)

    - today she got some sort of bug and is vomiting and has had diarrhea all day -- oh no!  Trying so hard not to catch it but have to take care of her too.

    - I only have 5 eyebrows left on one side and one of them is sticking straight up like it's been electrocuted.  I know, I could just pluck it or cut it, but I only have 5 left!!  I feel so bad about getting rid of it voluntarily!  Ahh!

Sigh...hope everyone is having a better stretch than me lately.

i think we all have had a tired day today! i have chemo at 9 am, it's almost 1 am now and not tired at all... damn nap... lol...

nolaa, i have the same issue with my eyebrows. i have a few left, and one or two are very weird, like sticking straight up or something. i try to smooth it down cause i don't want to pluck it either!! lol!! i'm getting hair on my head too, well peach fuzz anyways. i noticed the hair on my arms are sparse. that must come with the taxol too...

well ladies!! have a great night!

I too am loosing my eyebrows and eye lashes, sore bones in my feet, itchy hands and now itchy feet.  I had my last taxol today.  I have mixed feelings about it, glad its over, but anxious about the future like we all are.  The rainy weather we have in Victoria doesn't help.  I can't wait for the sun and warmer weather, although we do have some flowers blooming in the yard.

We are going to Whistler for 5 days and I was really hoping to ski.  My oncologist said the risk of breaking a bone is too great, it wouldn't heal fast and that would postpone radiation.  I could do cross country skiing but haven't done it in years.

Nolaa, I really feel for you with a two year old with a broken collar bone and a bug.  My husband was away for work my first week of chemo and my 10 year old was home sick all weeka and that was  enough, I couldn't imagine looking after a two year old.  I really feel for you and am thinking of you.

It's almost midnight, I am wide awake due to the steroids and everyone else is peacefully asleep except for our pet hedgehog.  I usually sleep maybe 1 or 2 hours the first night, a couple more the second night and feel wiped by Wednesday and then the sore bones kick in.  I was offered prednazone again and declined it.  I can make it with a little tramadol, tylenol, some heat, ice packs and a few really bad movies to take my mind off the pain, and I force myself to walk everyday that I can and go to the gym.

Thanks everyone for the support on here, the sharing of stories, SE's it's really helped pulled me through.  I'm usually a pretty private person, and my husband encouraged me to post more often.

Sending everyone good thoughts and hugs.

Count me in on the dizziness.  Really bugging me, it's my most irritating side effect, made a little worse by my eyes not focusing properly.  Oh, well, this too shall pass, only two more Taxol, and then I'm done.  I'm encouraged to see some of you finishing up!

I started taking a class last night at the local Wellness House.   Healing through mindfulness.  Going to be interesting... I have never in my life been the type  of person to sit still and meditate, but stress management is important to me now, so I'm going to keep an open mind and give it a shot,  I'll keep you all posted.

My onc told me that my RBC was improving, I'm taking iron supplements twice a day and indulging in red meat, something I seldom eat.  It's back up to 9.3, she didn't tell me how low it was at its lowest.  It is definitely explaining the exhaustion though.  Today I just couldn't pull it together to go to work.

I wish that I'd found out about this group 3 months ago!!!  I started chemo 12/17 and have been sort of floundering through.

I had 4 doses of A/C and now have had 2 of 4 doses of Taxol, and I have to say it's SO nice to read that my side effects are expected.  My onc looked at me like I had 2 heads when I said that my teeth felt super sensitive and that my feet were experiencing the worst of the bone pain.  I've done OK with the Taxol, definitely harder than the A/C, for me.  I was surprised that I have no meds to take post-treatments, other than the Advil/Tylenol for the bone pain.  I even stopped taking my Zantac for heartburn.

I'm still struggling with the hot flashes waking me up at night, and the dizziness that someone mentioned!  Both make sleeping very difficult, but I've had good luck just taking some Advil PM.

I started back to work this week, working at home.  Sitting for so long is tough, but I'm able to move to the couch and take little laps around the house.

I'm going to go back to read through everyone's comments - great to see so many faces in similar situations!

mblampton, I'm sorry you didn't find us sooner either! You are welcome to chime in! It is nice to be in the same boat as others going through this. As much as people try to understand, unless they have been through this they don't get it. (Or had a loved one close to them go through it then it seems like they understand.)

Rachel I am happy for you that  it was your last taxol! I am waiting for the flowers to break through ... I love that first breath of spring. Daffodils are only up about 3 inches right now.

Nolaa hugs to you and your little one! Oh the flu is so rough! I hope you both get through it quickly!

Lisa, I hope you enjoy your meditation class, let us know how it goes!

Angel.. laughing about your one crazy eyebrow! Sorry it is just the way you described it! Glad you kicked hubby's but in pool! Fun!

I want to nap right now but I feel like I have too many obligations this afternoon to follow through on.. a friend in the hospital getting her colon scoped, return a call to my sister who lovess to talk... Nap is getting put off for a bit!

Went to Dr. today and received an awesome report. The  tumors from my spine are gone and the tumors in my femur and hip have shrunk substantilly to the point that my Dr. considers me in remission. I am off chemo for a few  weeks and then we will be discussing maintenance care. Praise the Lord God is so Good!
