Tink / Jo - I did indeed see the eye candy...didn't have any of tha last night! Chevy...did drink wine as well as sleeping time tea so I covered both bases. Anne...I believe the breast cancer team in Halifax works as a team...ie. one sees you and then results are sent to all so if there is a problem, they all know. I plan on asking about blood tests when I see him on the 22nd. All three (oncologizt, radiologist, surgeon) explained my cancer details to me piece by piece....3x!....so I guess if Dr. Rutledge sees anything or if I ask a question hat should be redirected, I will be sent for more...hope they were going on the 'best case scenario' when they said you can get a new prescription next fall from your Gp and then I will see you in a year or so after that. ...told me to make an appointment when I told him if the cancer is gone at my 6month appointment that I may go and teach overseas for a year and get back to my life. ....he told me to just call and make an appointment when I knew I was going to be home then!....but no...no 'every 6 months' kind of thing....now I am wondering why (maybe because it is a good thing?)..in any case, I will ask.

    thanks ladies!

Chevyboy!! YES, you better stay!! Smile Glad you can hear but that silence is probably nice at times too!! Wink

Tink, you have GOT to get a Tinkerbell tattoo!! Yes, that's perfect! I don't have any (yet! will have two...one on each breast soon! LOL)and never in a million years thought I would....but I have actually been considering a tiny one on my ankle.....guess that would make three.Wink

Tea....I have been a mega green tea drinker for manyyy years. I like all kinds, loose leaf, white, matcha. Matcha is my favorite and much more potent. Gotcha Matcha (Matchcasource) is where I get mine from online. Love it!

What you all might want to keep in mind with tea though, is even though it is very good for us, it will inhibit your iron absorption if taken with meals or too close to meals. I have had low iron recently and I drink lots of tea. So, the onc nutritionist told me to separate it by 1-2 hours of a meal....or you can add some OJ or other citrus to it. Citrus or Vit C helps your body to absorb iron. (I learned about iron after being low, lol) So might not hurt to add something with vit c, like broccoli or citrus to iron rich meals.

Hope you are all having a wonderful Saturday night! Jo at the movies and Tink at Bunco......my night is low key.

Chevy- you def need to stay on board here.  Glad your aids are working and how wonderful you can turn the noise off when you don't want to hear it.

Jo you have been busy today, shopping and now the movies.  Let us know if it is any good.  I was wanting to go see that one.

Got our raise vegetable garden bed built and all the dirt and stuff in it.  Tomorrow will be planting.  I am planting tomatoes, yellow squash and okra.

ECG-I'll have to check out the Matcha tea.  Never heard of it but I love tea.  I did not know about the iron thing and my rbc is always on the low side of normal.  So maybe it is the tea thing. I have gotten to where I am drinking much more water though.

Tink-tinkerbell tatto is a must.  I don't have any except my rads tatoos which my kids think is really funny.  I have all boys and they all have tattoes that I don't like (they are big).  So they thought it was really funny that I got three small ones.

SAndee glad you had a good sleepover but we missed you here.

Saturn I will have to try to make it to Austin and get together. I need to go to Whole Foods maybe we can make it work.

Had a hard day of work going to take a soak in the tub and read a good book.  Everyone have a nice evening.

ECG- I have never heard of matcha but will check it out for sure....didn't know about the tea and food thing either, though I have accidentally been doing that. I tend to drink the green tea mid afternoon and morning and then one at night...decaf all the way!

    Sherry. -Next sleepover, I'm in!

I agree...tink...go for it! doesn't have to be big....they make a stencil out of the drawing you bring with you. For my 30th birthday, my old roomie (also a breast cancer survivor and my guiding light throughout this entire process) designed a sun for me and came with me while I had it tattooed on my ankle....two years before that I had a fireball tattooed onto the other ankle to celebrate being free of a lousy relationship and getting my personal 'fire and energy' back...Have not had a tattoo done in 19 years....but this year, it is time....might do a ribbon, might do a bright pink flower...but it will be small and somewhere on my left side near the surgery site (not on the scar either because holy crap that would hurt!)......celebrate life!

Sherry - The Adjustment Bureau is a must see.  Really liked it.  It keeps you guessing.  Ate too much popcorn but that is okay it was really good.

Tink - The tattoo is a must.  It would fit you to a tea.  Go for it girl.  Hope you had fun at Bunco.  I played that once when I went to visit my mom.  Wouldn't remember how to play it but I do know I won a prize at the end of the evening.

Sandee - Tink & I are the bad girls here and it is all her fault.  She is not here so I can blame her hehehe.  Bet she will have something to say about this.  Don't know if I am brave enough to do a tattoo - heck the radiation tats hurt so bad, I can't imagine getting a real one.

Some of my friends here and I already have plans to streak our hair pink during Pink Ribbon Month - not too many streaks but enough they will get noticed and plan on keeping them the whole month.  I am even going to where them to work.  I can get away with that stuff where I work.

ECG... any particular type in mind... I checked out the site for the vegas trip... wouldnt be able to go anyway its my daughters 16th bday that weekend... but down the road it would so much fun if we could plan like a girls trip together maybe a 3 or 4 day cruise or something wouldnt that be awesome?

    Okay, THAT does it!

We ALL need a little movie popcorn, even if we can't be with you, Ha!

You gals are all so fun!  And yes, the hearing aids are good, but it really IS nice to not hear all the back-ground noise going on....It's just that everything has to be amplified to be able to hear, & it's really not like your own normal hearing.....But I'm lucky I could GET them, because the better ones are not cheap, Ha!

Okay little TINK... you mean like this?

My Daughter got a tattoo when she was 21, It is tinkerbell kneeling down looking into a pond, with fish & bubbles...It's really cute, but I said "If you liked that picture so much, why don't you just carry it around with you instead of having it put on your leg?"   Oh well...she just turned 50 & still loves her "Tink!"

sherry- it would be cool to meet, let me know when you come up to WF.  I never know my schedule (we are real estate agents, so kind of "on call") but hopefully I can work it out.  I do have a fair amount of free time, just don't always know when its coming.  Do you ever go to Central Mkt?

Chevyboy - This is the size popcorn I am talking about.  I do have to add, hubby helped me eat it.

So glad the hearing aids are working out.

oooh. that pic of tink would be perfect on an ankle....or butt cheek....or shoulder...or or or....my dilema a the moment is deciding where to put it. I was so much braver and did not care about pain when I was 28 and 30 getting them done...bu I figure if I can have myself cut open, i can have a little dye put in....the black lines hurt more than the colour because of the type of needle they use...and I plan on having lots of pink in my tat so should not hurt too much!

Think I will be in the States again in September (hoping the weekend of hte 12th) for a workshop/conference....anynoe on this train live in that area?

Sherry - Bummer you had to work on Sunday.  I came in from cleaning up the gardens for a break and some breakfast.  It is overcast here today so it is keeping the temps down.  Plan on sewing later today.  The popcorn did not have free refills - I could barely make it through the first one.

    Have A Great Sunday Everyone.

Realized this morning that I forgot to take my morning prilosec yesterday for my tamox nausea.  I just took the one with my pill at night.  Did not have any problems so I decided to cut back and not do the morning one and see how it goes.  So far today is OK as well.  Not quite brave enough to stop the evening prilosec.  Maybe by next week I'll give it a try.  I did try a Lunesta last night and boy did it make me sleep.  So much so I don't think I could take them during the week as I would never get up for work.  Just wish my body would get use to the tamox and quit the insomnia but as many people that seem to have problems with this I does not seem very likely.

@ Tink: I  was surprised how little getting a tatto hurt. It was a total piece of cake compared to biopsies, IV's and all the other stuff. No big deal at all. Once I had the little radiation tattoos I figured 'what the heck' and got a big one after giving a lot of thought to what I wanted to say with it and finding something I wanted to live with on my shoulder for the rest of my life. I totally love it and love how it looks with a black halter evening dress. It is fun because I get a lot of people coming up to ask me about it.

Tink - I kind of had the same thought as Chan once I had the little radiation tattoos.  I got some hibiscus flowers on the top of my foot.  I did think it was quite painful but I think that is a very sensative area.  I keep thinking of getting one on my shoulder but am not sure what I want to get or if I really even want to do it.

The lady who did my tattoo was very good about moving from one spot to another so that it never got painfull on any one place. I think you are right, I foot would be more sensitive.

CHAN..Your tatoo is awesome! what does it say underneath?

PEG.Yes I would agree and say that would be a sensitive area. If I did do  Tink one I think I might like her on the lower part of my back or maybe my ankle... thought also about tha back of my shoulder like CHAN"S... Time will tell but if I get one I will be sure to post... right now I am positive about the Henna ones this summer...lol... thinking on my shoulder what do ya think?

Top of the foot, top of the hand and the breast are supposed to be the areas that hurt the most...so I was told when I got my second one anyhow. All those little bones etc...

Question totally unrelated to this....has anyone else had acid reflux (I think that is what happened) in the middle of the night? I have only had it one other time...and it is since I went on Tamoxifen....woke me up at about 3:30 am this morning and was so bad I had to take pepto bismol!...I had taken my med later than usual..had forgotten about it until about 10om...an hour befor eI went to bed. Could this hav ebeen the cause? Any thoughts?

@Tinker: It says "Chan go foill" underneath which is ancient Irish Gaelic, which is what was spoken in Scotland in the 16th/17th century. "Chan go foil" means "Not yet". Smile

@Sandee: I have acid reflux issues once in a great while, usually when I eat junk food. It is horrible when it wakes you up in the middle of the night! I hate that burned esophogus! Awful! Tums can help, or Alkaseltzer.
