KerryMac, I think it is one of those things where nobody can say how much Vitamin D is the correct amount, it is so individual. (And remember, I still don't know if that is what is causing my high calcium levels.) What I learned from my frantic late-night googling( before you covinced me to stop), was that many of us get all the vitamin d3 by being in the sun. I live in a very different climate from you and often sit out on my south-facing deck, butt naked, even in the winter months. How much Vitamin D3 one can utilize from the sun depends on your age (the ability to take advantage of the sun declines with age). So it could be on top of the 2,000 units I was getting orally, I was getting a good bit more than you could ever get in the winter from the sun.

At any rate it behooves us all to keep track of vitamin d3 levels and calcium, and if the calcium goes too high, have a bone density test right away. Like we need one more thing to keep track of!
