I tend to be some nights.  I usually go to bed at 10:00 but end up not getting to sleep for sometimes 1 - 2 hours.  It is frustrating.

No, the person I did not want to find me, did some how and was able to read some of the stuff I had written.  She is so nosey and started asking way too many questions.  I had some friends here that wanted me to do fb with them and that is how I think she found me.  It is easier if I just stick to these boards, PMs or emails.  I have to work with her and I don't need any friction between us.

It was bad enough when I had my surgery and she thought she had to give them all the details.  I had to put a stop to that when I found out.  I did not want everyone to know all the intimate details of anything.  I am a park manager and I want to keep my personal infomation just that personal.

absolutley it should be on a need to know basis and you share what you want with who you want... It is always interesting to see how people react ... I had a "friend" more like an aquantice call me about a month or so ago... nice lady, our kids went to school together, and she called out of the blue , hadnt spoken for almost a year, and said Hi Maria, how are you I heard not to good, I said who told you that and she actually told me well thats not important... really? kinda was to me... I said I am doing very well now thank you... and she says well I wish I would of known what was going on ? I just told her well I didnt go through my phonebbok and call everyome I told my closest friends and family and I word of mouth took are of the rest very odd.....

    I sent you a pm

I hated when people would approach me and say " I heard you had a problem"  I would respond by saying I did not have a problem, I had breast cancer and I am fine now.  Boy, that would shut them right up.  I deal with an older group of people and they don't use words like cancer.

your so right about that, my mom is almost 78 and that what she does, she always say you know when you were diagnosed with that thing, or she will call it my little problem too... Im like mom its called breast cancer it is ok to say... she sayd no I dont like to say that about my daughter... poor women is in a bigger state of denial than I was... she told me a few months ago... ok so your cured now youll be fine dont wory about nothing... oye... know she means well... but that drives me crazy... she has lost so many people in her family to cancers though I am sure this rattled her to the bone... so I just let her talk.now that I understand that she NEEDS for me to be ok... I get it now

Tink - Unfortunately for me, my mom passed away in 1995 from pancreatic cancer.  I did not even have her around to ask questions about menopause or anything like that.  I had to figure all this out on my own.  She was a young 64. Knowing my mom, she would have flown out from Calif to take care of me.  I really miss her.

I so understand that your mom needs you to be okay.  Cancer is not nice and doesn't care who it hurts.  It certainly has kept us on our toes.

Im so sorry about your mom she was young!...Losing a mom has got to be one of the hardest

How true it is a horrible horrible disease... it doent show any predjudice and hots anyone it feels like when it feels like... its amazing how it changes your perspective on things... I am so much more laid back about things now than I ever was .. I thought I was laid back before... nah!... Now everything thing takes on a new light, be it a flower in bloom and card in the mail a new friend made, everything is so special... went to lunch with DH today and was having this converstaion with this lady next to me and he says .. oh who was that I said I dont know just some lady I was talking too.. he sayd what do you talk to everybody now... I said sure why not... doesnt hurt to be kind and friendly!.. so I have tried to take some good from all the yucky stuff it brings.... I am the only one that cn do that for myself

Good morning ladies!  Seems like you had quite the party last night! Jo, all I can say is "hubba, hubba!!" and Janet, that is the BEST toenail artwork!  I poop out quite early every night - still can't seem to be up more than about 14 hours, but it's getting better slowly.

Sherry, Tink, ECG, chabba - you all seem to have such great spirit and energy!

I made biscuits and gravy for my breakfast this am - not nearly as good as my mom's, but adequate, no picture though, stingy me! Embarassed  Will make more next time!

Chan, these ladies haave the worst ADHD in the world... as my brother says: "Oh, look!  There goes something shiny..." in the middle of a phrase... Wink  But eventually, it does seem someone picks up the question of the day.

Blessings to all of you today.  It is supposed to be warm and sunny here, and I am off to do some gardening finally!!!

Ok who painted my face like a clown????????????Surprised You girls are too much guess that is what I guess for being the first one to sleep.

I crashed at ten last night and was awake at 7am.  This tamox has me on a new schedule.  I guess it is the new normal as we refer to it.  All my life I have slept late on Saturday but since taking tamox I seem to be getting up earlier of course I have to take a sleeping pill to sleep but even with that I am not sleeping as good as I use to.  Guess I will see what the MO says in a couple of weeks.  I'm afraid he is going to want to put me on Effexor.  The last time I took anitidepressant 15 years ago I gained weight.  I have worked to hard to loose this extra weight I had and don't want meds making me gain it back (so far tamox has not had a weight effect on me).  But I know taking sleeping pills every night is not a good solution either.

Going to build a raised bed today for a vegetable garden.  Will be a big project so guess I better go get started.  I won't have time to fix lunch so I need my friend Jo to come through for me.  I think she is our personal chef now days!!!!

Sherry - Someone painted your face? Couldn't have been me even though it was my idea Innocent

I don't know about lunch today - everyone is on their own.  I am taking hubby shopping for some new clothes for our cruise in 35 days. He needs some dress pants.  We don't dress up much and his are several years old.

I slept 8 hours last night - first time in years.  I sent sometime here last night with Tink - guess we were the last ones to leave the party.

    Have A Great Day Everyone.

June, Keep meaning to ask you......I have lots of family in and around East Brookfield. My dad grew up in North Brookfield. One of my cousins lives on Lake Lashaway. (it was my aunt's house that we visited my entire childhood growing up, every singer summer...and a few winters! My cousin got married and renovated it and now lives there) My family and I visited there in 09 for the first time in about 10 yrs. My mom and dad still go every year. Are you somewhat close to that? They are about 20 minutes or so from Worcester I think. It's really beautiful there.....love it....in the summer!! Wink

Jo - Thanks. I will ask the radiologist about blood work when I see himon the 22nd...questions #7!!

Tink- yes..battle scars my dear..you have indeed fought a battle and come out the other side..perhaps design a tattoo that you like.....something small....something in the middle of the battle ground so that when you look at it you feel a bit of control over the marks on your body. I have two...one wee one on each ankle...and after the radiologist appointment (or the June 6month marker..not sure which), I am going to get another to be a mark I want...

Re. thirst..yep...drinking far more liquid..try to do half green tea an dhalf water (though today it was two cups of coffee added to that)...

Sandee-- what kind of tea are you drinking?  I understnd green tea is good for us, not sure about whit tea though.  I have never been a tea drinker, but am willing to give it a try.  What would be a good one to start with?    Thanks to anyone for responding!

Saturn - Green tea is recommended.  It takes a little getting used to it, but I like it now.  Let the tea bag steep 5-10 min.

Hi Saturn- I drink an organi green tea..and found one that is chai flavoured and decaf so I can drink it after supper too...my drinking green tea makes my big sister happy so....not sure about the properties of white tea...know it is more expensive than green (and I actually don't like the taste of it either) but it is a mild tea.

Tink, Jo, June....Think I missed the sleepover! Had one of my own and woke up looking at the Cheser Basin in Nova Scotia and then going to hear classical music and had brunch...an odd combination actually but it was an interesting Saurday.

Sherry- having an ill parent...being given a time line....so hard. My parents passed when I was 21 (mom) and 36 (dad) ....I was with my dad the weekend before he died...just suddenly HAD TO go home to Ottawa to visit instead of waiting until November as originally planned...glad I did. All I can say is follow your instincts on this one and know that we are here if you need us.

Hi you guys!  I miss talking to you....Guess I can still post, even though I don't take Tamoxifen any longer?  It's fun reading what you all have to say!

About your parents..... It isn't any easier, even if you have them for a loooooong time....Wish I could have been closer to my Mom when SHE had breast cancer, but she was in another State, & didn't want me to "worry"....  I just wish I could have "been there" for herl....I wish she could have been with me when I had mine, but I wouldn't have wanted HER to worry either....

Green Tea?  What's wrong with Screw-drivers?  just asking....

My new aids are doing good, except everything sounds like I'm in a tin room, Ha!   It's kind of nice when I take them out, & "listen" to the quiet.

Oncologist said she'll see me in three months...might want me to start on Femara, but I'm thinkin' "no, maybe not."  Depending on the blood work, I might not take ANYthing....except maybe chocolate cokes!  xoxoxoxo

Sandee--generally after a bc diagnosis, the follow-up with an oncologist is for 5 years at least. My oncologist did bloodwork every 6 months while I was on tamoxifen; now every 12 months now that I'm on evista (high risk from LCIS and family history of ILC). Some oncologists don't feel tumor markers are reliable; mine did.

Sandee.. hope your seleepover was fun too! there be more on here I am sure to join! :) I like the idea of a tatoo to feel in control. I did "jokingly" ask at the docs office when they were talking about tatooing the nipple after summer if they did Tink tatoos... nope... I told them they should consider it... they just left... imagine lol

CHEVYBOY hiiiiiii... of course you can post here we miss you when you dont ! how are you feeling?

    chocoltae cokes so sound good!!!

Jo June and all my other tammy ladies hope you all have a great night I am off to Bunco... probably will not be back on until late... the little night owl that I am!Wink

Chevyboy - You can hang out with us as long as you want.  I does not matter whether you are still on the Tammy or not.  Heck, you can guide the rest of us through it as well as giving advice to any newbies.  So don't go anywhere - please.

Sandee - Glad to hear you had a nice sleepover of your own.  Did you see what we had at our party?  Nice "eye candy"  hehehe

Wanted to add - sorry, you ladies are on your own for the evening.  We are off to the movies with friends.  Going to see the Adjustment Bureau.  Love movie popcorn.  Don't party to hardy without me.
