AWSOME NEWS SANDY!!!! That is so exciting! When did you meet her?
-
That is awesome news Sandy, my DH is adopted, his mother was his real mother but his mother remarried when he was 4 and never knew his Dad was not his real Dad. They never wanted him to find out that his father was not his real father. DH found out when he was 42 yrs old that he was adopted. He was very angry at his parents and his Uncle (not his real Uncle) was sworn not to tell him. Same with his Aunt (real Aunt and Uncle) they felt bad but when DH asked them why, they told him everything. He was an only child but found out he has 2 half sisters and 2 half brother. We met one sister and one brother.
-
He found his real father too. Never met him but we do exchange Christmas cards and we sent pictures this Christmas.
-
Oh i found them in 1982ish Tommy was 7 and he is 36, but we didnt grow up together so not really a bond....I was 21 when I found out, people told me my whole life but my adoptive mother said they were lying...some one told me the truth didn't speak to her for 6 months...
-
Sandy..I just saw your post.
I hope you have a good time and temps would reach to 70s so you can take a nice warm walk at the beach.
Hugs♥

Good Morning everyone!
-
Good Morning and no such luck 60's maybe.....can't wait until tomorrow...Have a meeting today at a school with a parent.....How is everybody whatcha doing today?
-
-
60's sound great! It was very cold here again yesterday and I don't have any hope for today. My son has his 2nd half day today. My other son has one tomorrow. Older son is at SkillsUSA today. He is a sophomore and beat out the juniors and seniors so he is at the district finals. Yay! Hope he does well.
-
You are always so busy, Mak!!! I'll bet you wish there were less 1/2 days though.
-
You remember when your kids were younger, Meece. Busy all the time. I am off to iron some curtains before he gets home. Be back soon!
-
Good Morning
I am ready.
-
Hope he does well at SkillsUSA - haven't heard of that before - sounds like quite an accomplishment.
I'm trying to get my kids' grades off the website I can log into to see their grades as the teachers post them and put them in an Excel spreadsheet. Fractions are being converted to dates. I googled it and found a forum where someone made a suggestion that sounded good. But now the fractions are copying as formulas! And the actual dates are copying as formulas as well so they are all showing up as 0-Jan-1900. Ugh. Why are things that should be simple so difficult? I'm going to date myself now - if this were Lotus, I could write a simple macro to get rid of the "=" signs, but I don't know how to do that in Excel.
Funny story - recently, my DD started trig. I wanted to show her what a graph of a sine wave looked like. So I hopped on Excel and asked if they knew how to graph functions - only I said, "Does anybody (DDor DS) know how to graph functions in Lotus?" They're like - "What's Lotus?" Then I laughed wondering where my brain was that I thought of Lotus! Guess I'm living in the late 80's/early 90's these days.
And on Monday, I went to the school to fill out a permission slip so DD can go to a college fair next week. Could DD pay attention to the fact that there was a college fair she could go to and maybe decide she should go and bring home the permission slip? Of course not. Funny thing - when I was filling out the form, I almost wrote my maiden name! What is THAT about? I'm not happy with "D"H lately - guess my subconcious is thinking about a name change...
-
You're ready, Sheila? Meaning you've had your coffee?
-
Has anybody else noticed how small Girl Scout cookie boxes are getting?
-
I think Sheila means she is ready for BBB.
Yes GS cookies are smaller which is good because they make me bigger.
SkillsUSA is similiar to DECCA. Not sure if you are familiar with that.
Chris your daughter is WAY smart!!
Where's Diane? Making a cake? -
I'm sorry but I have questions. I don't want to pretend I know about everything you wrote.:)
SkillsUSA???????
DECCA??????
Trig??????
Chris got the right answer.
Linda failed the test.
BBB is history
-
http://www.skillsusa.org/ Decca is similar.
Trig is trigonometry. Math. Very difficult math.
-
Smaller GS cookie boxes mean I eat a whole box at a time instead of just a whole sleeve! Not good!
DECCA...nope never heard of that either. I don't know much about these things.
Mmmmm caaake. Chocolate cake?
-
No more BBB?!
-
chris...You are funny. I understood that part.
Large Choc bars used to be 8 oz now its 3.75oz for the same price,
Same thing with everything else.
I guess they cant change the egg counts and made 11 eggs 1 dozen.
I might try S&S lol
-
I don't have any skills - probably why I haven't heard of it! Hence the unemployed status... I don't know what to do with myself...
Sad thing about DD - she could be doing better if her teacher taught more. I think the teacher skips a lot and then DD gets behind. Teacher thinks students today are too passive and need to take a more active role in their education. My kids aren't that mature. Frustrating. I should read her textbook to try to relearn all that stuff - I don't remember it at all. SHE should read her textbook - lol.
-
My smaller boxes comment was in response to Linda saying smaller was better for her - not better for me - I knew you knew what I meant
-
I will make myself a bowl of high fiber oatmeal, with banana,
What is it that I always start good in the morning then I fail...
-
Because it's difficult. Don't say you fail. And starting out good is a good start! One step at a time.
-
I've failed already. Had GS cookies. Haven't had lunch. I'm a bad girl. What's S&S?
-
That news item on the right side of the page that starts with the word "parity" I keep reading as "party." I thought it was saying partying was bad for us.
-
I HATE THIS NEW COMMERCIAL WHEN THEY ARE SINGING HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CANCER PATIENTS.
I DONT NEED ANYBODY TO PITTY ME.
-
I agree with the commercial. I hate all the 3 day walk commercials too. They start the commercials 6 months before the event and talk about for three months after it. I love that everytime I put the TV or radio on I am reminded that I had cancer!
