PEt scan positive lymph nodes 7 years out

Options

Just wondering if any other survivors have gone through similar experience I am going through. diagnosed with stage 2, ER/P -, IDC, 2.5 centimeter, node negative in 2003. Past two months excruiating pain in left breast, area of left saline implant, pain radiates under left arm, down left arm, around to shoulder blade and up to cervical neck, has become incapacitating. unable to use left arm to reach for things or lift things, sometimes can't use to steer car. PET scan revealed two positive (hyper metabolic nodes) close to previous ca site. had lymph node needle core biopsy, waiting on results. plastic surgeon says no problems detected with saline implant, no scar tissue, capsulation or leakage. .Surgeon says no signs or symptoms of lymphadema, Oncologist says pain usually not associated with breast cancer reoccurence. Surgeon says he cannot and will not remove the lymph nodes and if they turn out positive it is my death sentence. Whether or not positive for ca, I find out tomorrow. I will not be satisfied with diagnosis either way. If negative for ca will want further tests. feels like a hard golf ball under my implant, any muslce pull or gravititational pull on that area sends out shooting pains. I wonder if there is a tumor growing underneath my implant that the PET scan did not pick up on? Also if lymph node biopsy positve for ca, I want the lymph nodes removed!!! and why after seven years is there not a primary tumor from which the lymph node invasion has occurred. has anyone out there experienced similar symptoms or problems with implants or ca reoccurring in lymph nodes only after so many years?. Perhaps I am experiencing severe inflammation from reaction to saline implant? I don't see how breast cancer can suddenly reoccur in lymph nodes only ,especially after seven years???

I am triple neg too, but not nearly as far out as you are, am still sweating through my first three years, so I have no real answers to help you, but I do suggest that you post this over on the Stage IV thread as I'm sure the gals over there will be more familiar with what you are asking.  I wish you all the best, and hope you get the answers you need.

Is it possible you have an auto-immune disorder that is making your body "reject" the foreign body (saline implant)?

I'm conused b/c you have "two nodes" on your diagnosis; yet you say you were node negative in 2003 and current nodes are "hyper-metabolic" with cancer status not established yet.

This just doesn't "smack" of a cancer recurrence to me but glad you are checking it out. I will check back for your results to'ow.               Like you, I had bc in 2003.
