I never had a cold sore BUT I did get a mouth sore following surgery. Which was odd cause I never got them during chemo...anyhow, try rinsing with water baking soda & salt. When I did it went away immediately.

June- Thanks! As for the 5lbs.....it WILL come off....hormones and pms is not a great combination....I figure the workout stuff I am doing right now is just keepingthe tamoxifen potential pounds off....not touching the weight I had on me before tha I was trying to get off! ARGH!

ECG- glad things are done!!!! Sheesh....I have not had to experience reconstruction or anything so I can only empathize, not sympathize...but I am glad for you that this part is complete.

Tinkertude- I did indeed enjoy!!!! Two super long walks in areas I had never walked before....thoroughly enjoyed it, memorized lyrics, looked at raindrops on wigs and just thoroughly enjoyed the sights, sounds and smells....felt good.

    Surfette: YAY!!!!! Such great news!

Jo- Had some real Italian food on Thursday in Little italy and splurged on apiece of tiramisu...how is your tiramisu?

Diane - We are going to Montego Bay, Jamaica, Cayman Islands and Cozumel on Carnival Cruise Lines.  The ship sails on Apr 17th.

Sandee - I have to confess - I don't even know how to make tiramisu but I do order it when I go to an Italian resturant.

Just a quick "Hi" girls!  Now I can HEAR!!!!!  Did you hear that???  Ha!  I picked them up yesterday, & what a difference...Hearing aids are the new hot ticket this year, just like be-jeweled crocs!   It's just been soooo long since I could hear, like the water faucet, or my foot-steps in the kitchen with my CROCS on! Wink  Now I can hear you talking clear in Texas, NS & yes, even you Tink, in Va!   So in celebration.......

    Chevyboy-so happy you can hear.

tink I did have a good time last night those strawberry's were to die for that Jo whipped up.

My SE's have for the most part gone away except for the insomnia.  I have taken ambien CR for the last several days so last night I was tired and decided to not take one to see how it went.  Well went to bed at 10 and woke up at 1:15.  I figured out that I think the Tamox makes me have very vivid active dreams so when I wake up I can't go back to sleep because my mind is going going.  Not usually like this.  So Ambien it is again tonight.  I guess Ambien will be my sleep buddy from now on. Since I have all my other SE's under control I think I am going to switch to taking Tamox in the AM instead of PM and see if that will help with my sleeping.  If it does not I can always go back to PM since that is when I take everything else.

Well I just received a phone call from mine and my Dad's RO and he actually apologized to me for our conversation yesterday.  My Dad has been going crazy waiting for all the final results of his cancer (ie if he has it other places and if he is going to die).  That has been his biggest fear.  So last Wed I took him for a Pet Scan that they will use for his planning for rads.  The results came in on Friday and the RO was off.  I get 4 phone calls from my mother yesterday wanting to know if I have talked to the RO yet to get the results.  I called his office at 2:30 and spoke to the nurse and told her I really wanted him to call me that day (yesterday).  So at 5:20 I decided to call the other office he works out of that he was at yesterday and they have this lovely recording that says if you have an emergency call 911 or go to the Emergency room then it is followed my for doctors you can call the RO cell number at.  So guess what I did I called him on his cell phone.  I think he was quite shocked that I called him but told him I had to have some answers for my parents.  He was defensive and short with me and told me he was waiting on a call back from the radiologist regarding some small spots in the lung he was not quite sure if it was an infection and the radiologist did not put a size on it.  He said he was going to call me with all the answers once he had them.  I told him that was fine but my parents were going crazy and they just want me to tell something so partial answers are just fine. Now normally this man is a very easy going nice person so he threw me for a loop yesterday with his attitude.  Anyway he called me this morning with the other results of the spots that they think it is infection and will do another CT scan in a few weeks to see if it changes.  They are too small to biopsy, but he also apologized for his attitude yesterday.  He said it was the end of a long one of those days and that that did not excuse him being short with me on the phone and he was very sorry.  I told him I was sorry for calling on his cell but that this whole roll reversal thing going on with my parents is taking a toll on me emotionally plus the fear that I could see and hear in my parents I just had to have some information to give to them.  So all is well now, but it is nice to know that he at least apologized. So the good news with my Dad is the cancer is only in the one spot in is Ribs and they will radiate to try to get rid of it which means they are hopeful.  I will take him Thursday to meet the MO and see what he has to say about chemo etc.

SHERRY..I am glad to hear the good news about your dad and happy the RO apologized. I think they become de-sensitized to thier patients sometimes but it is so nice to see that he realized his attitude was wrong and apologize, that says alot about him... so glad... may more good news follow!!! :)

Sherry I too am so happy that he was man enough to apologize for being short.  More people should be like that, don't you think?  We can all have a bad day but to own up to it is completely different.  Just really stinks that you both have to go through this awful journey.....

Tink/Sherry and Jolast night was fun I love the dancing Jo did with her new toes.....you girls always make me laugh!  Tink I don't think I could ever use that paper on you, you are way too sweet for that!

Chevyboy WOO HOO....you go girl, so happy for you!

Slinky I think the first pill is the hardest.  We are here for you!!  Hugs!

Hi Ladies!  I just got my prescription for tam.  I have to be on it until Dec which will be a full year of no periods starting post chemo then I am supposed to switch to femara.  What advice do you have for me???  I have been having mega hot flashes since Sept since that was my last period after chemo 1.  I am now 52.
