Welcome Worldwatcher and Woodstock....you are going to feel right at home with all these ladies as the support is wonderful!!!
Alicia - THANK YOU!!, but like every woman out there it just stinks to be up and have the muffin top so exposed....he he .....here is to you and me with the exercises, I could use all the help I can get. This weekend was somewhat warm even though yesterday rained and I am so the outdoor walker as opposed to the gym or treadmill, so I did a 3 mile walk on Sat and Sun and feel so good about it.....today is work and off to visit my parents tonight, so that wont happen today....
Who would have known that potassium could have that many benefits, thank you Echosalveje
Hello to all you wonderful ladies....rainy day here today but tomorrow is supposed to be 40's....something to look forward to,.....
-
June - Good Morning Friend. How was your weekend?
Good Morning to all the Tammy Ladies.
I feel go great this morning - even if it is Monday. I got ambitious and made a huge breakfast for everyone.
Enjoy! And remember these meals are calorie-free! LOL!
-
Jo thank you for asking as it was really good despite the weight gain. My leg has improved significantly (80%) and not sure if that is supposed to be the norm or what. I hear some people go on and off for pain, lets just hope mine stays off......Loving the food this morning as I had no desire to cook......Maybe a nice Olive Garden salad for dinner.....How are you and more importantly how was the weekend? I haven't seem you on FB lately?
-
JUNE. Magnesium.
-
echosalvaje that is the Tamox talking I did mean to say Magnesium......LOL!
-
I saw my onc. Friday and he suggested I go back on tamoxifen (I'd taken about a 5 month break) and he wants me to finish my 5 years. I've only taken 3 doses and already feel it. Moody, achy bones, hot flashes from hell. It just depresses me to think I've got another year of it -
-
Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome.
-
June - Thanks for asking. I had a great weekend. I am feeling so good these days I almost can't stand myself. LOL! I worked on finishing sewing a quilt, got it put together and basted all ready for hand quilting. I made lots of progress. The toe pains are still there a bit - it is very doable. I expect to have some pain because I am on my feet all day and they would hurt some anyway. I am still dealing with the burning in the boob and am supposed to see my surgeon on Thurs afternoon. I have not seen him since he sent me to the lung specialist.
So glad to hear the leg pain is less. Crossing my fingers your pain stays off.
Ellie1959 - Have you considered starting out with 5 mg and working your way up to the full dose? That may be a way to go. Some of the ladies do a split dose when they are up to the full amount. Doing it that way may give your body more time to adjust to the medication. Just a suggestion for you.
-
Jo et al., I have appreciated the comments about starting tamox at 5 mg and working up slowly, giving the body a chance to adjust. I started with 20 right off the bat (as prescribed) and it put my recovery from chemo back about 6 weeks! I have been off 3-4 weeks now and FINALLY think I am back to where I was at the beginning of January with pain level, energy, strength, and mood! Saw the MO on Friday, she wants me to go back on ASAP, so I agreed to reconsider it with my next visit in 3 weeks, and based on some of your experiences with a slower start, I may actually be able to do it and survive! Thanks loads! I will check back in periodically in the next 3 weeks if I resume it. You are the greatest group of supportive women, and the food is the BEST!!
Warmest wishes to you all!
-
Echo....thanks for info on magnesium....will give it a try!
-
n3ypbm- Seems a lot of us have had to do the slow start. You know, we gotta do what we gotta do to keep the beast at bay.
-
Ellie I did the slow start too and it made a big difference.. it is worth try.good luck!!!
JO. glad to hear that you are doing well and your piggies are behaving... nore good days ahead,,, keep me posted about your appt thursday

BUT he did this air abrasion thing didnt even need novacaine and no thingy in my mouth to hold my jaw open... thats the worst for me.... and no pain... he is my new best friend!!! lol.. wish all fillings could be like that!

-
Well ladies, I've been dealing with my only side effect of the tamoxifen so far.....constipation! Have never had a problem before so I'm miserable
Went and talked to the pharmacist about taking Miralax. He said it'd be fine and to take it in the morning. So that's what I'll be doing tomorrow
I just wanted to make sure that there'd be no interactions between the Effexor, Tamoxifen, or even the Vitamin D.
Went with my hubby this morning to watch my daughter get sworn in to the Federal Bar in Maryland. A very proud moment for us!
Vikki

I haven't had a cold sore on my lip for so long I can't remember the last one...does anyone know if one small dose of Tammy will give you a bump on your lip?
-
Vikki, Congrats on your daughter! Thats wonderful.
Off to an external support group. Friends and fam seem to think it would be good, since I am a doer and having restrictions is not my thing. Not openly communicating and holding back feelings. See how it goes. Woman in charge is a surviver 19 years.
-
Vikki I am so happy for you....that is something to be proud about, that is for sure.....You must have been in tears as I know I would be.....
Worldwatcher I never ever had a cold sore, but 2 months ago I had something that resembled a cold sore but not blistery, just really really dry skin that I kept picking at. Wouldn't you know that the same thing came back this weekend. It is really quite bizarre that all I want to do is blame this darn drug for everything that is happening to me......
Woodstock I wish there was a group out here I could join, especially if there were women like yourselves it would be so worth it......Hope it went well.
Ellie1959 welcome back....I know it sucks especially after the break you had, hopefully the SE wont linger.....
Jo and Tink do you want to meet up for some drinks in the last cabin, I could use a few laughs right about now......Everyone else is welcome......who says it has to be a weekend thing.
-
Vikki - Congratulations for your daughter - that is great - you must be one proud mom.
June - Drinks later would be great but I see Tink is looking for dessert. Maybe we can do both at the same time. You know how spoiled she is - and I know, it is all my fault. We love her anyway.
I came up with these strawberries and a little dessert wine. Hope it meets with everyone's approval. We deserve to pamper ourselves.
-
Jo oh how I do love you!!!!!!! you know me soooo well!
June lets do it ... meet you in the cabin... cant wait! comeon ladies!
vikki... how wonderful about your daughter what a wonderful accomplishment!.
-
Tink - I can take subtle hints and can read between the lines. I have to wonder what you are going to do in just under 7 weeks when I go on my cruise for 7 days. I will be off the computer for 8 days. Hope you don't go into withdrawals.
After dessert, we will still need to have a drink or two. I want to share this one with you ladies. The only time I can get this is when I get on the cruise ship. It is called a Miami Vice - it is half pina colada and strawberry daiquri. It is to die for.
-
JO..OMG!!!!!!!! WHAT!!!! I dont know.. glad you reminded me so I have time to develop some coping skills... sigh!!!.. well I know ...I will just suck it up... you will be back and deserve this cruise... just promise when you get back I get a special treat! lol..
-
Tink - I can do that. You will have to give me some ideas. And I know I have posted this before - but I am going to do again just a reminder. You are so special and I love you for it.
-
JO...I love that pic its so so so me! hahahaha ..I like anyting you cook up my dear! something indulgent!!! heheheh
-
Tink - You should use that picture in your avatar. It is close to the one you have now but better describes you.
-
JO I think I will... Im gonna give it a try
-
Tink - That would be way too cool - You are such a good sport about all this.
-
You 2 ladies are cracking me up. Don't worry Jo I won't let her wither away to nothing. I am sure all the ladies and I will take turns trying to please that spoiled little gal!
-
JO I figured out how to changed my pic!!!lol.. its all in good fun as long as you know I am really fairly nice lol
June awww thanks your the best too! xoxo
-
Jo that wine bottle is almost gone and damn those strawberries are delish!
-
June & Tink - You two crack me up. I needed the good laugh.
Tink - That is great. Let's see if anyone else notices. You are a wonderful person with a great sense of humor. That's what makes this thread one of my favorites. I post here more than any of the other ones I am on.
June - I am going to leave you in charge of Tink. She will eat anything.
-
I hope not me......
