June - I just finished my dinner prep for tonight's dinner. On the menu in my house is baby back ribs seasoned with a Jamaican spice I brought back from Montego Bay, pasta salad and broccoli.
Enjoy the pictionary with the family - you deserve a fun night.
Sherry - I am coming to your house for dessert. Apple pie sounds yummy.
-
JUNE..I believe so and its still not here!! ugh couldnt agree more PMS stinks! have fun tonight!
-
June I agree...PMS stinks. I haven't had a cycle since November. Feels like it's going to come, but nothing. I don't know if I can blame the Tamox or just plain old aging, as I'm 45 and things were getting irregular before starting the Tamox anyway. I'll be discussing this with my MO when I see him in April. AND, I think my scale is broken too. I've struggled with my weight all my life so I've never been a big fan of the thing, but now I really don't like it...it's EVIL!!!
On a good note, I had my second 6-month mammogram last week (which happened to fall on the 1-year anniversary of my diagnosis) and everything was clear thankfully. I celebrated with lots and lots and lots of chocolate (maybe that's why my scale was extra-evil the next day?!?!?).
Hope all you ladies are having a great weekend
-
schipmom - Congrats on the 1 year cancerversay and the clear mammo. That is great news. Doing the happy dance with you.
-

Hi,
Tink...I'm having a great weekend! Hit some consignment stores with my daughter and my hubby's on his way home from Paris. He had a 2 hour delay leaving Charles DeGaul Airport, so he landed at JFK at 330PM. Now he's on the NJ Turnpike on his way home to us
June....I've been on the Tamox for about 2 weeks or so. I'm the big 53 :P Just hoping that the drug doesn't mess too much with my periods. Hopefully I'll be in menapause in another year or so. At this point, who knows? LOL!
Chevyboy...here's hoping that you'll get back to hearing in no time
Alicia.....sell those houses!!
Jo....glad that you're feeling energetic again!
Eastcoastgirl....we are definitely all on the tamoxifen train! With all of it's ups and downs :P
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

-
Sherry - I absolutely love apple pie! I am on my way!
schipmom - congrats!
I have not had a period since June and I am hoping it doesn't comeback, although sometimes I think I still have PMS. Tink & June - hope y'all start feeling better soon.
-
Tink - I really did have a caramel sundae with bananas. I had DH take me to Dairy Queen. I haven't been out for ice cream since I was dx'd. This felt so good.
Sweetie - I wouldn't tease you like that - that would be down right mean.
-
jo... lol...I didnt REALLY think you would your so good to me after all! :0. Glad you went to DQ and enjoyed...good for you you deserve it my friend!
DAWNEY Thanks... I just hate this feeling, one minute I feel pretty good the next I could just bust out into tears for no apparent reason...Like permanent pms.. I am going close to 40 days sonce my lasy one... I am convinced I would feel better if it just came and I had that release... oh well cant make it come...so I"m venting instead! :
thanks!
-
Tink - Maybe you are starting menopause? Of course, I don't know how old you are - but then again, there is no golden age you have to be at. I was 52. I got talked into taking Prempro for my severe hot flashes - boy, was that a mistake. Believe me, I don't miss the periods and all that goes with it. It's been a little over 3 years now.
Sure hope you feel better real soon - I worry about you girl friend.
-
JO I am only 42... is that too young?. Thanks just feeling a bit frustrated these past couple of days... I know better days are coming.. heck Im here.. March 22 will be a year ago that I had my mammo hard to believe a year since this all started... I wasnt diagnosed until June ( first surgeon screwed up aspirated cysts and said nothing is there come back in 6 months) glad I didint listen.. but noone else could get a good view and do a biopsy because I developed a HUGE hematoma from that... maybe its all the emotion of all that jumping in too... anyway thanks for letting me vent some more !!!! hugs my friend!
-
Tink - It is very possible to go through menopause at 42. But do remember, if you have been under alot of stress lately that can screw up the periods. I do remember that much. As long as they are not coming and you aren't pmsing - sit back and enjoy it. I hated having periods.
Time can sometimes fly - even for us and all we have had to endure. As long as we stay cancer free that is all we need. For me, I keep telling myself "Don't sweat the small stuff" And most of what we are doing these days is small stuff when you take into consideration the big picture.
You vent all you want. And if you don't feel like venting here, you can always PM me. I do serve food and beverages there on occasion. LOL
-
Thanks jo!!!!!
-
Your welcome Tink!
-
Cancerversarry I love that, too funny Jo!
-
Hi everyone, I'm back from a month in the UK and missed you all.
I'm 7lbs heavier and still having hot flashes 24/7. I managed to get through airport security with my industrial hand fan.
Jo missed your food postings.
What have I missed.
Jules
-
Jules - Welcome back. We missed you. Hope you had a good time in the UK. You know this train moves quite fast. I have been keeping the girls well fed here.

Welcome back Jules - we missed you!
Tink I know exactly how you feel. I am 45 and started my period at 10, so it is possible that I could be starting menopause, Just wish I knew. I don't know why....but I hate the unknown. I am now up 7 lbs this morning and I know I'm beating myself up, I just cant believe this. Part of me wishes I would just get my period as I feel so bloated. 7 lbs WTH!!!! I can't believe you are 40 days past.....I guess we can go through this together.....Like Jo said and she said it so well. We can be here anytime you want to vent, please do it. I don't know what I would do without all you ladies and I really mean it.....hugs to you Tink, hope we can get through this together.....
ECG thinking of you today and hoping your pain is down.....
Schipmom CONGRATS! I hope you celebrate!
Dawney and Jo Is this how it starts? I know everyone is different, but does it start off like this and we get nothing? I thought I would be irregular for years before I start to miss a period.....I was told that was one of the reason of Breast cancer was that I got my period before the age of 12.
Vikki I love consignment shopping., Did you find anything good?
SherryI would love to come over for apple pie. I think Jo has been feeding us for so long and seeing you love to cook like her.....maybe the party can be at your house instead of the train for next Friday......hmm, sounds good to me as good as those pies look that's for sure.....
Well I guess I have to try and do something about this weight this morning, off to exercise....have a wonderful day ladies......
