I've just had a friend find a lump. Had a mammogram then just today had an ultrasound,  the tech told her it wasn't black but grey.  Does anyone know what this could mean.  He also said the lump was hard.  If you have any help, I would appreciate it.

    From what I understand, tumors appear black on ultrasounds, and cysts appear grey or white.  I hope that it's benign, we know how stressful it is waiting for test results. 

     (The ultrasound tech really shouldn't have said anything, her doctor should be the one to go over the results for her. )

    I agree,  he was totally out of place saying anything about this.  He added so much more stress to the situation.  I advised her to call her doctor and see what he has to say
