Congratulations Michcon on finishing and good luck Suepen today with your last treatment - hooray!

13 days out and my skin is healing albeit slowly, I'm wondering what to put on my scar now... I think I'll try Vitamin E oil.  I guess I'll have to start massaging it now which I'm not looking forward to!  I'm still getting some stabbing pain in the breast every now and then but it feels so much better.  I hope everyone is doing well and good luck to all those still getting through rads.

I am 10 days out of last radiation and skin is healing now---it was pretty bad last week but now healing but very dry. I am using up the rest of my cream and also using some 100% pure aloe. I also have a few shooting pains every so often.

Congrats to those that are nearing the finish line!

Done and dusted - never to be repeated. I must say it was very low key - they don't celebrate with you at all.

Skin peeling off all over the underside of the boob from the nipple down but a very thin layer. It looks quite good though - not weepy. The crease area is getting bigger every time I bathe it.

I'm not happy to be finished - just tired and depressed over the whole bc x 2 thing. I'm sure that I'll cheer up when the skin grows back and I don't have to get ready to go there every day.

    Hurray Eloise!!!!

    Sue

Congratulations to both Eloise and Suepen and all the others that have now finished.  Not been adding anything for a while (I read every day though).  I started my fifth week yesterday, today is # 22 out of 33 *(including boosts).  Apart from a 6"x6" area of itching from the allergic reaction I had, above the radiation site which is now sore and ugly looking, I have been doing very well.  I am no spring chicken so I am pleasantly surprised, even planning a week or two of vacation after this is all over, if I keep doing so well.  Obviously, I am not holding my breath as I have other medical problems, but, I am positive.  Let's keep on trucking!!!!!!!!!!Cool

Omaz - you will be surprised at how quickly your fatigue abates (at least it has for me) and your skin returns to normal.  I have no recollection of what normal was for me before diagnosis, but I know I am feeling much more capable now than I did during those last two weeks.

My fatigue did not last long either.

Raincitygirl does your rads breast still look tanned?  I am 5 weeks out and it has faded but is most definitely still there. Also the surgery side (1/2 of my breast) is completely numb.  I doubt my feeling will come back but I think it has more to do with the fact this was my 2nd lumpectomy surgery on this breast and I think just way too much  damage has been done.

Omaz--I am about same as you out of rads--it will be two weeks this coming Friday. My fatigue was worse last week but better this week.

I still have some redness under the armpit and now one spot on my axilla area. It is definitely better than last week. Sherry---My boob is numb too and I have talked to a couple of people and I don't think that it changes. Someone told me to massage it and it will help break down scar tissue and then maybe some feeling back? We'll see.

Sherryc - my whole boob is totally back to normal color, the boost area is still slightly tanned.  I have no numbness, in fact I have noticed I have increased sensitivity especially around the nipple.  It is so great to have this free time now!

Congrats Eloise and Suepen for finishing.

Omaz - I am post two weeks and just getting over the fatigue.

My skin is slightly tan now and even looks better under the arm not as dark.

I'm feeling a bit better today. Still tired though as I was woken up by a thunderstorm at 3am. We really needed that relief from the heat.

Lestwin - hang in there not long now.

Thankyou girls for your company and support during the past couple of months.

    Sue

Man, what am I supposed to do with my time now that I don't have to plan my day around rads?

Well, I am going to go to the gym shortly, since I missed last week (I normally go twice a week). Last week I had a lot of blistering and chafing going on in the armpit, and a swollen hand from the cat bite on the other side.  Now both of those have healed up, but I have a cold -- but will see how much I'm able to do.

When I had my exit interview with the nurse yesterday, she told me to step up the lubing (as if that were possible!), put a cool damp towel or cloth over the boob in question, and take both Tylenol and Advil at the same time, plus Benadryl for the itching.  It would never occur to me to take two different pain meds together, but she said they're metabolized differently and the combination would help.  In general, she seemed to be telling me I was going to feel a lot worse over the next few weeks than I am right now.  Awesome.  I may be canceling or shortening the vacation I had planned for two weeks from now -- partly because of this, partly because of the sick cat who I don't feel good about leaving with just her catsitter once a day.

    Onward and upward!

Thanks Omaz - I know we are ahead of you guys. Went to visit a friend in hospital today - she just had a mastectomy on Monday. DCIS, but multiple ones. I swear she was in the same room as I was in November. I cried - it brings back too many memories.

I am now 24 out of 36 completed, 2/3 done. I have 2 more regular rads and then 10 boosts. The one additional boosts because I missed too many rads.

My son and his family arrives the day I finish, I hope I don't get any more tired than I am now. I am really happy about them coming.  My son, his wife and two children. DGS Ian 3 years old and Kendal now 6. She was here in Sept and I will be happy to show her I have a little but if hair back again.

I am peeling on the rads side now. I was told to keep putting stuff on me so I will.

Congrats to every one who is done. You will be my role models.

    Hugs Ginger

Coming back for some advice!!  I start tomorrow with rads, I will be working full time, so what time do you suggest getting treated?  Is morning easier then go to work, or should I take the pm appts and then go home?  anyone try both?   I bought some cotton means shirts to wear under bra to tuck in under breasts, and regualr tank tops to wear under shirts, sweaters. (Still very cold and snowy in MA).   I will put aloe from plant right on after treatment, then aquafor a few times during day/at night after that.  Does this sound ok? any thoughts, suggestions are very welcome. Should I have any other stuff on hand, I have heard some hydrocortisone cream for itching.  Thanks so much everyone.

Congrats to all of you who are finsihing and almost done.

    Thinking Spring,

    JoAnn

JoAnn - I liked first thing in the morning because I could wash up in the morning, head in to rads, then goo and into work.  I had pretty much the first or second appt of he day.  A lotion like miaderm or moo goo is good too.  I really liked the progressive emu oil from amazon.com.  I used the aloe vera gel right after, miaderm about 2hr later at work, emu oil after work and aquaphor at bedtime.  I had good luck.  Really goo it on thick and get it all around under your arm and on your side toward your back.  You sound ready!!!

Ginger - Good for you, almost there!
