He said that it is most likely nothing.  Definately not a LN.  So... that's good.  TNBC can met to the skin but rarely and it doesn't usually go *from* the skin *to* your organs....  SO, almost positive that it isn't skin mets but if it is... not a huge deal. (ha! yeah right!)  Wait and see....

He wants to see me (and my armpit!) the end of Jan.

Michele, glad it turned out o.k. : )

Nancy:  you've been through so much, I hope this surgery and recovery goes smoothly and helps you to feel better.  What is an EMG?  oh, and are you on facebook?  if so, friend me : )

Most of you already know from facebook, but my scans were all clear, YAY!  Plus, my cardio doc called and said my stress test was good, and I asked about my ejection fraction (to compare from before chemo), and it hasn't changed at all, so it's all good : )  Now I just wear this heart monitor for the next month, to try to figure out these palpitations/flutters.

Nancy~ Wow that doesn't sound like a lot of fun.

Oh, Jaimie, I did that once! And it was before Chemo. Addressed the envelope, saw it sitting there and popped it in the mail box, found the card the next day....It was for a wedding, I think she thought I was quite barmy!

    Judy, congrats again on NED!!

Jamie ~ I'm so sorry the newspaper let you down.  How crummy of them! Yell  LOL @ "holiday envelopes".

Michele ~ I'm with Kerry; it was compassionate of you to take the dog.  I do think it's funny that your DH isn't a "pet person", and you're a vet, heehee!  Sooooooooooo glad the lumpy armpit is likely nothing.  *hugs*

Furies ~ is anyone else still having full on meltdowns?  I thought today that I was really losing my mind; I ranted and raged and screamed and cried.  I didn't throw anything, so I guess that's an improvement. Tongue out  My cancerversary is coming up, and I don't feel glad.  I just feel...I don't know.  Angry and scared and ticked off. Undecided

ANYway, I think my Christmas shopping is done, so that's a good thing.  Now I just have to wrap them which should be fun since my son bought "A Christmas Story" wrapping paper! Smile

Love and hugs to you all!

okay Michele, I wish I was closer so we could have lunch.  If you ever need to talk to someone send me a PM and I would be happy to listen to you (without judgement).  ((hugs))

Artemis~ Mine diag. date is coming up Christmas Eve and IT SUCKS!!!  I know if I bring it up my DH just thinks that I should be okay but IT"S HARD.  I am still not back to feeling 100% and I am ready to be there.  Not only that EVERY SINGLE ACHE is the worst and I am tired of it.  So on Friday I am going to have a drink eat and be as Merry as possible...but you know where my mind will be at least once during the day.......HATE IT!!!

good morning everyone!  I have an appt to see my counselor today.  I'm looking forward to it.

The University is closed starting this afternoon 'till the new year.  I'll be on call but it will be nice to be at home lots more!

Jaimie~ Doesn't it suck to have this anniversary so close to Christmas? Yuck.

    talk to you guys later!

Two years ago was my mammo and US.  I think I did better this year than last; I didn't wake up thinking about it, and when I remembered a few hours later I shed just a few tears for a minute or two.

I hate hate HATE this disease!!!!  I'm soooooooooooooo sick of it for all of us.  Yell

Michele ~ I've looked up a counselor that I'm thinking of calling after the holidays.  I'm having a lot of issues with, well, just about everything, lol...maybe he can help me straighten out some of my thoughts.  I hope your appt went well, and yay for having time off work! Smile

Love and hugs to all the Fabulous February Furies!!

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas...

I know what you mean about still being 'in a funk'...and while I do feel scared, I don't think I'm so much angry...for me it's that constant knot in my stomach, morning, noon, night...major anxiety I guess.  I am going to see my primary doc to see if I can try some sort of anti-anxiety med other than the xanax and see if it helps

Oh, my onc called me back a couple of days ago, and asked if I would be willing to participate in a study for fatigue after cancer....I said heck yes, I'd love to get to the reason for feeling so tired all the time!

Hugs to you all : )

Judy ~ the fatigue trial sounds very interesting!  Keep us posted on it.  And yes, do ask your PCP for other meds.  Xanax works great for me, but does nothing for my sister.  And my family and I had a very nice Christmas, thanks!

I love this board and all the ladies on it! Smile

Okay ladies it seems as if Apple needs some positive thoughts and prayers, even if she didn't tell me the active topic post did.  I am thinking and praying for you.

Okay so 2 years down and a lifetime to go....I have some things freaking me out lately so I may have a trip next week to see Onc. man just to make sure I am okay.  I hate the fear....just hate it....

As for Christmas, I am still trying to recover.  My house is a MESS and I mean a mess.  I am trying to eat healthier because I have hit an all time high with my weight...and I just can no longer stand it.  I feel like I should have been served on a platter on Christmas...I am getting to be a butterball.  I need to get motivated....

Apple, I am thinking of you all the time. Try and let us know what is going on. (((hugs))))

Jaimie, I am sure you are just freaking yourself out. I do it all the time. I hear you on the Christmas eating though, too many treats are still lingering around. I just packed up some unopened boxes of goodies and have put them away until Camping/Cottage time.

Thanks Kerry :)  I have some lump and bumps from reconstruction and one was hurting last week on my non-cancer side and I felt an inconsistent "thing".  So I am thinking that I will just squeeze myself in next week to get onc. man to look at it for a second.  Then my kidney has been acting up which sends me into there is no way in hell I am doing that hell surgery again.  I know it's not likely but you know I have an active imagination.

    So butterball checking in...lol....

Oh Jaimie, you certainly are not a 'butterball', lol!!  You're beautiful : )  I would go see the onc, it's probably nothing, but I totally understand the 'fear' factor.  My house is still a bit of a mess, too...I find with my hubby living in Miami, I'm not quite as motivated to clean, lol

Elaine:  the xanax works fine for calming down my racing heart/breathing symptoms, but does nothing for the knot in the tummy.  I'll probably see my doc next week.

I got my haircut for the first time since 2008, it's a layered bob, and I really like it alot!  Not sure how much curl it still has, I will find out after I wash it tomorrow I guess.

Happy New Year to you all

Ladies, it's been so long and I hope you're still out there.  ACL reconstruction was 12/28 and I hope to begin driving again tomorrow. Of course, here comes a new snow event tomorrow. So, I may have to wait until Wednesday when I return to work. Either way, the knee bends a little more smoothly every day.

The result of the neurologist was that I do have carpal tunnel - from the crutches, most certainly - but for this go 'round I got wrist splints which is more helpful. The Electromyelogram showed that my nervous system functioning was low normal, which was encouraging, especially since my B-12 levels were extremely low. So I've started with B-12 pills and will move to shots if the pills don't work.  Then, the good news out of this is that she feels with the B-12 and occupational therapy I can get past the neuropathy.

So, I left the worst till last.  I went in for my 6 month mammo. They found calcifications in the other breast and biopsy is next week. Prayers that this winds up being nothing???

Judy, is that your new 'do in your profile pic?

Nancy~ Prayers coming your way.  I hope you knee continues to do well so that way your hands can get a break.  ((hugs))

As for my lump (bump) or whatever the heck it is, I e-mailed my oncologist and he said to take advil then if it didn't go away to come in.  Well it went away within 3 days....whooohooo!  So no visit for me.  I am feeling so achey and just lazy.  We have been wicked cold for our area, with low wind chills and high humidity which means bone chilling cold.  We have been spared of the snow but it has been so windy that it has been crazy.  This has made my get up and move plans crash and burn :(

Kerry~ I am jealous of you ability to pack things away.  I packed them away all right, right in my mouth...lol..  Luckily for me all of the ones that I love are gone :).  Now I just need to get moving and start eating right, I am a hot mess right now.

Hello ladies. The long gap since Jaimie last posted shows that we are all getting on with our lives which is great! I plan to do the same - biopsy was negative. I got the result on Friday. Thankfully I can now refocus on the knee. I graduated to a cane and rehab started this past week. I'm told I should be able to plan a vacation for May. May sounds good. Right now I'm looking into Napa CA. Thoughts?

    yay Nancy!! whoo hoo!!!

Jaimie~ I have a lump too... Soooo stressful.  But I have negative scans and normal TM's so it *can't* be cancer... right??  It is on my BC side, in my armpit. <sigh>  Glad yours went away.

    xxoo to everyone!!

Jaimie--you have alump too..???  What's going on with my Furies???   i haven't been in in awhile, and we get lumps... Bethie needs to pass on some positive spirit around here!!!!

My hip was bothering me a few months back, so got it checked out--had a full body PET scan--CLEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No RA, cancer arthritis nothing. left mammo clear! Now, I had my reconstruction consult yesterday, and we're ballparking for May 9, depending on sisters' schedule---gonna have tummy tuck too!!!  What am I to look forward to besides new look and pain?  Good bad feedback appreciated sisters

Oh, my goodness! I don't know where I've been? All these lumps? Report!!  I had an abnormal mammogram and biopsy on the non-BC side, but it was negative. Hip pain too, but we're watching that. Hard to tell given the knee surgery.

What's with the lumps and hips??!!  I'm having hip pain, but a bone scan was clear about two weeks ago.  I'm saying it's Tamoxifen pain, but of course onc disagrees.  He seems to have a hard time believing that any meds he gives me can cause any problems.  Undecided

Just saw the new activity - wanted to say HI to everyone.

Beth, nancy and Artemis - horray on clean scans etc!!

If Michele dosn't check in, I can tell you she has got LE. So, not great for her, but not cancer.

Bethie~ The most important thing is to make sure that you have a great surgeon.  Yes there is pain but it gets better pretty quickly, IMO.

So I am heading back to the kidney doctor this week due to a buldge on my belly near where the kidney surgery was....grrrr...  in addition my kidney functions were mildly elevated in my blood work and I have a ton of fluid weight on me.  As for hip pain, I am right there with all of you.  My right hip which hurt before cancer is worse now but not any worse than when I got the bone scan in the fall.

Kerry ~ I saw Michele asking questions on the LE board, and her symptoms did sound like LE.  I'm so sorry she has to deal with this now, but as you said, it ain't cancer ~ yay!!!!

Jaimie ~ grrrr...I hope the kidney doctor can get you fixed up without too much trouble.

Love to all the Fabulous Furies!! Kiss
