Stitching the pieces together

My avatar is one that I did. I have a hard timp posting on these boards.
-
Meece - Just go for it. You may have some hidden treasures in the boxes.
-
Meece, you can "force" a straight edge by just cutting through all layers with a ruler and cutter. The stars will end at different places, but the whole thing will be square off. Or just leave it the perfect way it is!!!!!
-
That is kind of you to say, barbe. I will have to give it thought. It sure shows me how far I have come.
-
I've kept my very first piece. When I come across it I'll post it now that I have my camera rolling. I didn't even have a long enough ruler for the sides!! I was using a measuring tape!
-
I have been cleaning my garage recently and have been going through some of my old stuff. Here is my "Drowsey Doll" and her two quilts made by my grandmother about 45 years ago. Such I shame I didn't have my daughter to pass them down to.
-
Awwwwwwwwwwww-cute!
-
You're having grands!! Maybe a girl? I can't remember if you know what breed you're getting....
-
Veggy, I coudn't get it any clearer as I had to resize so large but at least we can all see it. Hope you don't mind that I did this.
-
Chrissy - I don't mind. If you could... could you PM with the instructions on how to postit?
Never mind!
-
Trying to post a picture.
* I can't do it!
-
Here is the filet crochet aphgan I crocheted.
I did it! I figured out how to post this by myself!!!!!!
-
That's an afghan? It's BEAUTIFUL veggy!
-
Lovely.
-
The afghan is beautiful veggy.
Love to see projects posted here.
-
Wow, that is beautiful and intricate work, Veggy. I love to see other projects as well.
-
Here's one of the doilies I made using filet crochet. They make cheap wedding gifts that everyone enjoys.
-
My dining room table... puzzles and another doily.
-
Crochet with plastic bags.
-
My grandmother used to crochet doormats with bread bags.
-
I think I got a little carried away posting. I finally learned how to do it and I wanted to practice. Thanks everyone for the compliments.
-
Veggy - One can never do too much posting. You can see how much I post.
-
I have been crocheting squares for Community Afghan. I have to get a box out soon.
-
I only crochet scarves and afghans. I think your doilies are beautiful, Veggy.
-
Thank you Meece.
-
Veggy your crochet work is beautiful. My GM tried to teach me how to do the needles but I was only able to work with yarn. The smaller threads were nearly impossible for me. She gave me and my DS's a choice for wedding gifts.... table cloth or bedspread. I chose a bedspread. It took her nearly three years to finish it. She worked on it only in the winter because she said she had outdoor stuff to do in the summer months. When my DH and I finally moved into a house of our own... and bought a king size bed.... I had to tell her a queen wasn't going to be big enough. So, she made it so I had to use a dust ruffle. It's still in really pristine shape and I used it nearly every day for 10 years. Then I put it on a guest bed.
-
Those are treasured gifts for sure.
-
Yes it is.... I don't think her work was appreciated enough. She made tons of doiley's and I have some of those too. She liked to make the ruffle kind that had to be starched.
-
I have so many doilies that need to be starched and stretched. One of these days I'll get them all done. I get them damp with starch water and use my salad spinner to get the excess out before I block them.
-
Veggie, I also crochet with the thread, I make snowflake ornaments. In 2009 I made a deal with a woman in my quilt guild who has a business quilting with the long arm machine, I made her a table runner with her name and she quilted a queen size quilt for me. I kept track of my hours and she gave me that many hours quilting.
I haven't quite picked up how to post pictures. When ever I try, I get a little box with the little squggle in it.
