Hair regrowth after DD Taxol
Hi there!
I am doing dose dense ACT - have finished AC and did my first DD Taxol last Tuesday. Can anyone tell me how fast the hair regrows on DD Taxol? It seems that the women who have regrowth during Taxol are doing the weekly regimen for 12 weeks, rather than dose dense for 8. Just trying to prepare myself in case I don't see any regrowth at all for a few months.

Hi, I just had my last DD Taxol two weeks ago.I noticed a little after my second dose that my armpits didn't feel as smooth anymore. I checked and saw fine little "baby chick" white hairs on it. Peach fuzz I guess. I kept checking my head and thought there was no growth. Again I am now 2 weeks out from last dose and hubby and I noticed the other day that my head did indeed had peach fuzz. I thought this whole time that I did not have any hair growth because I couldn't see black hair growing but the hair that is growing back is very light and soft and it's all over my head, it must have been growing this whole time I was on Taxol.
I am losing my eyebrows and lashes though...it started when I finished my last Taxol . My left eyebrow and lash is pretty much almost gone

Wow, that's amazing! I have some stubble growing all over my head, but I couldn't tell if it was actually a sign of it growing back. My right eyelash is already starting to thin and my left eyebrow appears to be thinking about it, too. For whatever reason, I am more bummed out about losing my eyelashes and eyebrows than I was about my hair. But I just keep reminding myself that it will all grow back!

I finished DD Taxol in July 2010. I did not go completely bald on top, but lost all my eyebrows and most of my eyelashes. The eyebrow/eyelash loss seemed to happen right after I stopped the Taxol.
The hair growth started very fast, it seemed like within the first month or so I had noticeable hair pretty much all over my body. For a while, I felt like Sasquatch because it seemed like anywhere hair could grow, it did! LOL. The hair was very fuzzy, fine and eventually I lost all of it and it has now returned to normal. The eyelashes and brows seemed to come back the quickest. The hair on my head was pretty sparse at first. Now it seems to have filled in better. My hair is about 2.5" long, and super curly; I just had my first haircut in over a year, to give it some shape.
Good luck with your treatments.

Interesting! I feel stubble growing in, which I was definitely not expecting. It does not seem even, though. But I'm encouraged! My right eyelashes have thinned a bit - I'm going to try to figure out how to apply the individual lashes to fill in the holes.

I had DD taxol, and no hair regrowth, just lost my eyebrows and eyelashes. About 3 weeks after i was done though my hair started coming in... now its way past my shoulders

Sweetbean - Great to hear you've got some hair activity! I did the 12 weekly Taxols and noticed that just about the time my head got fuzzy, my brows and lashes took a hike. They didn't return until I finished Taxol, but the hair on my head kept growing. Go figure.

I had 4 cycles of AC followed by 12 weeks of Taxol. I started losing clumps of hair 2 weeks after my first AC session. So I shaved my head immediately and I really enjoyed being bald. Everyone told me the look suited me. More importantly, I was in and out of the shower in 5 mins. My hair started to grow back during the Taxol. However, it was not my real hair. What grew back was completely white peach fuzz. It was very soft and looked like baby hair. Before the end of the Taxol, I also began to feel stubble. And yes, my dark hair began to grow, amidst the white peach fuzz. The growth was not even, however. First it grew on the top and back of my head, then on the sides, and the front area (bangs) came in last. I had my last Taxol session on the 16th of January 2012. Two weeks after the end of the Taxol, my eyelashes and eyerows, which had thinned out, fell out completely. This was hard, since I thought that I would not lose them given that I had gone through 6 months of chemo and hadn't lost them yet. When they grew back, about 2 months after the end of the chemo, they grew in in full force, thick and dense. I never had such nice and long eyelashes. My eyebrows were really full and I could shape them nicely. Unfortunately, they are both falling off again. My eyebrows are nearly gone and my eyelashes are really thin. I heard that they can fall off up to three times in the first year after chemo. Ugh! Has anyone else experienced this? I guess it's easier this time around because I've already been through this once. But I was hoping it wouldn't happen to me. I will try to take it all in stride. I know they will come back. If anyone else is going through this, hang in there, it will soon be over.

I lost my hair completely during AC but 3 weeks after my last AC it started growing back. I have lost my eyelashes and eyebrows on weekly taxol, but the hair on my head has come back. It is not fuzz it's real hair just thin! I have completed 11 and have one more treatment to go.
