Hi ladies,

I am not sure if I am posting in the right place, but I had hysterectomy at the same time of the mastectomy. I had miomas and since I was ER/PR + I also had my ovaries removed. I am now a month out of my surgery, but no hot flashes yet??? Not that I am complainingSmile, just wondered , will I eventually get them or am I a lucky exception LOL / I wish/. Many thanks and my best wishes to you all. xxx

    Hi Karina,

Hopefully you will be a lucky exception with Hot Flashes.  They can be brutal.  The Aromatase Inhibitors can really help bring on brutal ones.  Many here take either Effexor or Prozac to help eliminate them.  I take 75mg of Effexor and it really does diminish their frequency to 2 or 3 mild ones a day.  I also drink a lot of ice water too.

    Hi Karina,

I've had hot flashes since chemo in varying degrees...some are definitely worse than the others...sometimes it just feels like I'm having my own personal summer...sometimes it comes with headaches Frown...no bueno...

    Good luck and take care.

Karina - I hope that you are lucky, or lucky enough to not have them make you uncomfortable.  Like Barb said there are other options.  I take Effexor and it works wonders and another good SE is that I noticed I'm not as "edgy".  Good luck!!!
